Ask Us Anything: Sharing Knowledge 420 Style

More curious than concerned, not sure what's happening, thinking it might be cold related or a deficiency.. is in a dwc and is outdoors, Cyco A&B nutes, CalMag and Ben. Bacteria. They went 8ish days without a feed / change of water. New to DWC.

Bottom pic looks healthy, the lower leaves could be an older issue.

I've got 4 of them (mh 300's)and was going for 5 when I saw this other light did you see just a few posts up check it out and see if you still say the same

300w LED and 300w MH have different parameters and effects on the plant / grow / run costs. I've purchased unbranded panels and Mars panels and the results from the Mars is noticeable in a day or two. Best of luck whichever you go with, the 700w Mars is a bit more but goes like a boss

What's the water temps? Being you are outdoors I'm going to guess that the temp is rather high.

It's winter here in Aus .
The day time temps sit around 18-25c, night is normally around 10, min of 5. I have a heater in the res, keeps temps from dropping below 22, but I don't have an active thermometer in there.. the dog got to it..
If I tried this here in summer the water would boil! Haha
Autoflower genes, the plant is GSC by Fast Buds.

Anyone know about light specifics? I have been buying marshydro lights as I get more space but am seeing other lights cheap and stronger they say but I can't tell because I don't have the knowledge

Buy the mars

When I said mh I meant marshydro not metal halide lol that's my bad so your saying get the 300 marshydro instead of the 1000 watt led unbranded both being the same price

When I'm waterin my outside stuff I always give the hose a real good purge first. The standin water can leach chemicals from the hose which may not evaporate even if you let it stand.

In the uk no absolutely not. A heavily budding plant should not be aloud to get soaked, the humidity here will make it a catastrophic event. If you are growing mould resistance strains then maybe nature will take care of her but if you are growing trickier strains than aren't as mould resistant I can almost guarantee you will get botrytis when those heavy flowers develop. I personally wouldn't risk it and always construct transparent rain covers to protect my colas in heavy rainfall.

Has anybody experienced outdoor bud mold or problems of the sort? What where the conditions that caused it?

Being from Aus it dries up pretty quick after rain, haven't had any problems in the past.

I used to get it every year growing outdoors in the UK. Unfortunately things just don't dry out in our climate after a good drenching. Bud rod (botrytis) is my number 1 priority every year. I just assume I will get it and take precautions. Since I started using rain covers made from polytunnel fibre/plastic I never get it anymore but I did have a period of lost crops when I first started growing because of it. Bloody awful stuff botrytis mate

Cheers Kush! I've only got a week or two left on an outdoor WW, it rained pretty good tonight and is suppose to keep going on and off for the next few days. When it rains it doesn't rain for long here.. like, quick bunch of rain for 20 mins then cloudy.. then sun, next thing it's raining again for 20mins.. It's winter now though, and it could be pretty miserable the next week. Tossing up wether to build a small cloth shelter tomorrow to lessen the amount of soaking, or just pull it up and be done

Yeah I know you lucky so and so, I have family at Coolum Beach on the Gold Coast so I know how great your climate is for weed. What's this Bulldog strain I'm hearing about from my nephew out there? 40% THC I hear? You guys really are lucky. I highly doubt you will need a rain shelter out there mate. The rainfall isn't just the issue for budrot here in the uk, it's the heavy rains coupled with very high humidity which I don't think will be half as bad for you in oz. that said it surely can't hurt. I have no choice but to do this but you may be lucky my friend. See how high the humidity will get during and after the rain, you may be ok pal
