Hello everyone, I just have a few questions before starting this cycle, I'll try to be as brief as possible:
I'm about to end a CFL cycle, whilst I'm satisfied with the yeld I got, I plan on getting more. Having a micro grow box, I can only use one 125w CFL, HPS/MH would cause me obvious temperature issues, so I was thinking about LEDs.

1) Is it wise to combine a led panel (vertically placed on a "wall" of the box instead of the roof) with a CFL? Or I can just use, not a panel, but some kind of secondary led lamp next to the cfl above the plants? (depending on price and space, I don't really know yet about LEDs!)
2) Should yeld me more 2 plants grown in 2 different 6l pots, or a single plant grown in a big 12l one?
3) How should I handle holidays? I should be out of town for 4 days, will I be okay giving'em just some more water or am I risking on overwatering them?

Sorry for my bad english I'm very tired and that's not even my native language! Thanks for anyone who'll be willing to help me!

Why don't you try growing one plant in a 12L pot and spend some time training it, also if you get an LED panel hang it directly over the plant not on a wall. Depending on the panel you buy, you can veg and flower using just the panel and lose the cfl's all together. Lots of options to go with. I'm assuming you are in soil, if you have to go away your better to water it real well and not worrying about over watering, it's better than damaging the roots by letting it dry completely out. Check out eBay for cheaper led panels if you want to keep a tight budget.

Thanks for answering so fast!
I don't want to get rid of the cfl after only just one cycle, that's why I want to "add" a led, not replace it. So led and cfl can coexist right?

I trained my plants with LST, in fact I'm satisfied of the result, I still wonder about the potsize/yeld thing though, one is better then two if the pot is twice as big? Can you confirm it?

Mixing your lights will not hurt anything, if that's what you want to do. You can grow a bigger plant in a bigger pot, there is no telling if you are going to yield much more by doing so. Plant training for small spaces works pretty good, I've also seen sog grows using small pots work real well too, it takes more time and effort in smaller pots, that's all.

A good way of getting all the guidance you need is to start a grow journal on this forum, that way we get to see what is all involved in your grow and many experienced growers will help guide you to a successful finish.

please help

Hello, I just dipped in to the growing side and am not doing so well. Went with a hydro box and big bud seeds. They are 3 weeks old and only a couple inches. I feed 2 x a week and have the light schedule at 18/6. I Keep the PH around 6.0

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. They look a little yellow but not as bad as they were. I added more bytes and they looked better. Just can't get them to grow.

Please Help....Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First time posting, I have 4 babies growing outside, but I don't know the strain and I really want to know, is there any way possible to figure out the strain?

Had to raise the light 6 inches in the last two days, now its almost three weeks in flower. Gonna flush em real good tomorrow and start flower nutes 1-34-32 weak solution as well as 2-1-4 I have been giving in weak solution and see what happens. I'm gettin all giddy!!

I also have been removing the big fan leaves as needed to keep the center open and over any tops lower on em tryin to reach a happy medium with the leaves, I leave more than I take.

At 3 weeks into bloom, I take the inside fan leaves, then 1 week or so later, I rotate the pots 1/2 turn, & take off the rest of the fan leaves. I feel this gives the plants less stress ?? You over do it and the plants wii be stunted for like a week. I also strip all under growth, up to about the third node. Do it in 3 or 4 sessions, less stress, works for me.:surf:
