Ase's Perpetual Fun With Coco

Ill look at it

I just got a 12 ton press and 3"x5" aluminum plates that heat up digitally. Should be a cool setup. I'll post about it when it all gets here. Spent about $300 and I couldn't see waiting any longer to just pull the trigger and make the purchase. I'm probably more excited now that I will be able to use the VaporBrothers pen from POTM again. That thing is super nice to just take places and hit concentrate with almost zero smell.

Tent A Flower Day 65 - Tent B Flower Day 11

Not too much new to update this time around. I decided to start the flush on the PE. The Lost Coast OG and the Purple Kush will still get another weeks worth of feedings.

Tent B is just hitting its stride and was noticeable today. Time to watch them stretch. Can't wait for them to get done so I can defoliate them again.

I love how the entire branch is just 1 gigantic cola.... really digging your quadline. I'm still enjoying the scrog so I'll stick with it a little while longer but I think 2 plants quadline would do really well for my tub space .

Your veg is 6 weeks right?

6 weeks from sprout to flip, yes. I really like my quadlining too! I've had people copy my schedule but I've yet to see anyone train them like I do. You may be the first victim .. I enjoy the bowl shape they give me and how they space out without having to do anything in flower. My friend still calls it a screenless scrog because all the nodes get light and they are usually pretty even plants in height. It's my thought that the less you have to do to them in flower, the bigger colas you will get and the better they will stack. Also I was more aggressive this time in defoliating (kinda lollipopping) the lower material after stretch that always ends up as junk.

Looks great. My next round of seeds I'm going to set one aside and give mainlining a try. What's your average haul?

I've never done just a straight mainline. My method involves making 4 branches into main branches instead of just the traditional two with mainlining. I'd guess my average is about 3.5 ounces. I usually have at least one plant over 5 ounces in every grow so if I could do that with 4 plants in a grow I'd be pretty stoked. My goal is 4oz/Plant.

The girls I just flipped will really be a good test to see how it all comes together and what numbers I can get if everything goes right. I'd love to get a pound off of 4 plants with a 6 week veg and a 9-10 week flower.

Me and you have the same goals lol

I think my maximum with the setup that I have would be 5-5.25oz per plant and 4 plants. At some point I will look into higher end lights which would help raise that but I likely won't start thinking about all that until I can consistently pull a pound a grow. I feel like I'm getting close and it should be in my wheelhouse now. I guess we will find out in about 8-9 weeks!

See it sure how measure lights or watts to grams?

... I can't say it enough Ase! Holy hell your girls are my idols and I fall asleep dreaming to grow plants like this! I just showed my hubby your flowering pics and said this is what I want to grow...he says no way that's too many, I says that's 2 plants! Id say he's worried about my future tent and the smells. Lol that's a compliment.

You'll be there soon enough my friend! Your carbon filter will really help with the smells, you're going to need it for sure. He has every right to be worried if he's afraid of having big smelly plants. It's one of those good "problems".

Thanks for the positive encouragement! I'm waiting on my dad tutorial to arrive and then I'll be getting my exhaust and carbon filter up and running for the next flowering cycle. Hopefully that helps with his "allergies" to the strong smells..

Harvest Day 67 - Purple Envy

Yes that is right, I decided it was time for the Purple Envy to come down. This was kind of a sad story for this plant in the end. It started out great, went the first half of flower great and then I forgot to hang my canopy fan. It was as simple as that. As the plant started to dense up I saw mold on two of the big colas. I cut the mold out (which was basically the main cola in half) and they seemed to continue fine. I did tell myself if I saw any signs of mold again it would be done. Well it's been about a week but I saw a little tiny bit in a main cola again. Clipped it out and stuck to my plan. It got clipped and washed and hung. As long as no mold happens while drying I should be good to go. I do wish I could have flushed longer but she got a huge flush and then a few feedings of just plain water. At this point I wasn't going to risk the plant going to mold. It might take a little longer to cure in the jars but it'll be fine.

This is what she finished like. Frosty and smelled like grape candy.

Trimmed up. The bud to leaf ratio was crazy. I got this girl done in just an hour and ended up with a half a plate of trim. Would have been fun to see what she ended up like with a week or so more of flushing but next time I won't be a bonehead and forget to hang the canopy fan! Once the first signs of mold happened I knew it would be an uphill fight but I'm happy in the end in what she looked like.

I really do not know how to gauge the yield I will be getting from her. These are the largest colas I have grown and also the densest. Will report when she is dried up and ready to be jarred. I absolutely cannot wait to grow this again. She is in my top 4 and I will be growing my next one to use as a mother and clone a bunch of times.

Man Ase that plant looks beautiful. Nice haul.

Thanks man. Had my hopes up a little bit a few weeks ago that this could be another POTM entry for me but with the hackjob I had to do I'll take it. Very happy with her though. Still one of the better plants I've grown to date.
