Ase's Perpetual Fun With Coco

You've had Gorilla Seeds shipped to Canada without issues, G2HM?

I need to make an order at some point in the fall, no rush, but I'm considering trying out another seed bank.

YES and I highly recommend their stealth shipping. I was expecting challenges, nothing but excellent professionalism. I got Dinafem, Barney's Farm, Dutch Master & more. All breeder names that give me a fighting chance at growing with a broken brain. Not all my eggs in one basket, better odds for sure. Looking forward to droppin' those next season after my clones finish out.
My vision is, oil this, oil that. I'm all in.:goodluck::Namaste:

Ase, feeding question. I've been feeding only Micro and Bloom from the series, not Gro even though I have it on hand. I want to start using it because it'll allow me to manipulate to your ratios a little more easily.

My veg ladies have gone 5 weeks now. They're getting plain water tonight. I'm about to mix nutes and leaning towards hitting your numbers the rest of the way on these ladies.

My question is, I've added Floralicious Plus and will now also add RapidStart (should have done that immediately!) - am I taking a risk if I add and start using Gro? Am I safer to be slightly off of your ratios - I have no way to bring K up more independently of N and P until the addition of KoolBloom late in flower - or would I be better off just adding Gro and getting it right?

I'm inclined to bite the bullet and add Gro. But making changes as I went was an issue in round 1. I think that's mitigated a fair bit though because I'm feeding a solid mix as it is and the plants have been healthy since the start. And I have added confidence from not messing up round 2.

Adding the grow won't do any harm. There is a little Potassium (K) in both the micro and bloom. Remember that each bottle is all the same stuff, just different ratios of it. When you start looking at nutes like that then it's far less intimidating. I'd go for it.

The potassium is essential for building nice, hearty stems. That is why you push it towards the end of veg and early flower. The heartier the stems the more weight they can hold. It is also helpful to the plants to improve the natural immune system to fight against pests and environmental swings. I've seen so many plants look weak and not sturdy because the plants weren't boosted with potassium at the correct time. They almost look kinda sick instead of perky, happy and strong.

I've had all good experiences from cks. I like how they are just up north and seeds show up within the week. As far as inconsistency, the sour d had three pheno types. One of those pheno was a nice mix of the other two. I've had many orders like that. Now after the ownership switch I got some WW. All were the same, and I believe someone commented saying they looked just like there's. Me I would like to know how close to the real thing are crop Kings genetics.

I won't say anything against CKS until I have my own problems. They were friendly and quick for me and threw in some free beans like gorilla seeds did.

My largest concern is consistency and I'll know that soon enough when I try them again as I have 6 more of the Purple Kush and Cali OG. So far this Purple Kush looks incredible. I've heard a lot of stories about inconsistency so no matter how hard I try to keep those out of my head and go with my own experience, they are in the back of my head when I pop a seed from CKS.

I really want to give them a fair shot just from my experience because it was right after they apologized on these forums. I think they switched ownership and I'm hoping that their seeds give me no reason to doubt them.

With what I just said to Shopgrow, I'd still go with Gorilla seeds for future purchases. Their freebies are cool and the customer service is over the top. In this industry where it not legal everywhere, the extra customer service aspect is very comforting. They have been the best so far. I have so many seeds I don't think I'll have to make a purchase for a while but when I do I will be heading their way.

What time does the contest close today Ase? I'm excited for you but don't want to be premature! :thumb:

All contests close on the last day of the month at midnight, west coast time. That still leaves about 41 hours. The last couple days are always fun. I'd just wait to say anything until a forum moderator announces it and it's official. Ya never know what can happen in the end and that's the safe bet.

Just mixed nutes for tonight's feed. I have officially taken the plunge - I am now feeding to your chart almost exactly.

Don't stress about getting the ratios exact, I never do. It's more of a guideline than anything. Plunge away my friend. You know I'll be around to help if you need it. It's been fun watching your skills from grow #1 until now. Your plants for round #2 are looking solid and most people would love to have plants that looked like that. Round 3 will only be better for you. I'm hoping my results with my methods yield you similar, if not better, results!

Hi Ase, Just got an email in case you didn't, Gorilla Seeds is giving 30 % off some seeds, limited time, in case you want to check them out. Have a wonderful weekend my friend.:thumb:

Thanks G2HM! I got the same email and started looking but then I had to remind myself that I am sitting on like 40 feminized seeds and I likely will be cloning again soon which will make the rate I use seeds even slower. I'm telling myself to be a good boy and not spend anymore money on seeds until I need to.

Oopsie, well I'll start keeping seeds AWAY from you from now on...lol.
It might be similar to me playing water polo, trying to prevent your seeds from touching the water.

Flower Day 30 - Veg day 18

Went on a trip to the Oregon coast this week and had some gorgeous weather. Stumbled upon this interesting tree. You can read the sign for yourselves but they don't know if it was done by nature or done by man. Would be interesting to know. If someone started training this tree way back in the day and it ended up looking like this. Either way it kind of looks like the way I trained my Purple Kush so I thought it was fitting. I'd like to think it was done by a person but they never would have gotten to see the results.

The veg girls are all at the same point. The Lemon Venom has roots about 3/4 down the pot now and the rest are about halfway. They were all starting the 5th node and I topped down to the 4th. Cleared the 1st and 2nd nodes away and off we go. They looked droopy when I did it and about 3 hours later looked like this.

The flower girls are making me really happy. I did some major defoliation today on the Lost Coast OG. It is still showing light green growth which is great and surprising to me. It was really stalled for a bit and is trying it's hardest. I put it on a pot so it is closer to the light. The other girls had some really big fan leaves that needed to be pulled and were running into other buds or blocking lots of light.

Just as an idea of what my colors look like, this is what my fan leaves look like on all 3 plants under real light without flash. I just have little light in my room and need to get a better solution for picture taking. About halfway through flower and my leaves have looked the best they ever have. Amazing no nute burn really. I always seem to have a little starting in week 3-4, I'm almost to 5! Makes me feel like my schedule adjustments were correct. That schedule is found on page 40 in this journal.

Lost Coast OG has been a fighter and I'm glad I didn't give up on it.

The Purple Kush I did a little LST and bent the main branches for a bit. It spread it out so some of the taller colas were a little lower and wider. Soon the branches will be too hard and brittle and I won't be able to do this. It's shaped to the way I like it now and hardly any stress involved for the girl. Have to be really careful doing anything now though because a snap or break and the plant isn't in growth mode anymore so repairing is really difficult and stressful.

Purple Envy has some fat colas already and frost is everywhere. Grape smell all over. What a strain. Such a pretty structure with 12 main colas. I think this will be my goal for all plants in the future, 12 main colas. I think it will keep both the height and width perfect. Imagine if my tent had 4 of these. I'd never leave my grow area.

Everything is looking on point my friend! It's really starting to frost up in here... :thumb:

That tree is one interesting thing to look at. Those would be some fat colas that's forsure!

Thanks CK. I think you are the only one still around from the first group of people that I met when I joined these forums. Pennywise and TheBlaze are pretty close behind that. Always glad to see you stopping by still. It's cool to think you've seen me from not knowing how to grow at all, to having my own system now. Respect sir!

Lmao, you weren’t in there training that tree were you?? Seriously though your plants look great man! LC is coming around nicely. PE is amazing.

Even looks like they defoliated it from about midway down. Lol! I just couldn't not take a picture to show you guys. Thought it was hilarious. Thanks for the compliments! Will be fun to see what LC can actually do. I've been giving it the same nutes as the other girls and she isn't burnt at all but is definitely behind by weeks. So strange.

It is crazy how people come and go but some stick around for the long run! I always enjoy stopping by here, even though I'm not one to always post I always keep my eye on your girls.

It really is amazing how much we have learned since first starting lol. We've both improved immensely but we still have so much more to go lol. I feel like I'm always learning and getting closer to really understanding my girls

The Purple Envy looks amazing, I need to try this plant!

Congratulations on your second POTM win Ase! Very well deserved!
