Arteekay's Second Grow - Autos & Feminized - Mixed Strains

Had a problem with a Windows 10 insider preview build on my surface, which made it a pain in the ass to sign in when off my work domain. That's my excuse for not being more up to date.

First catchup post is from Wednesday, October 26th, and it's just our third Crop King Seeds Northern Lights auto final drying update.

We've had a very wet fall and have been fighting humidity for a few weeks. NL3 hung for 5 days, which is a full day longer than we've ever been able to hang one, and still jarred up at 75-80%. We've had to burp it frequently this last week.

Not great buds off this one, lots of loose small buds that'll likely end up in the extraction pile.

Oooooo........ Concentrates. Mmmmm..... That's quite a haul there buckaroo.

Happy end of your first year. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Thank you for all of this. :kisstwo:

She is the last one we'll harvest in our first year. I'm both happy and sad to hit this milestone. Happy that in total we grew over 7 pounds in our first year, sad that I'm no longer able to hide my mistakes behind being a rank noob. Now it's "I know, we should have known better".

:)

Got a pretty good update from Thursday in the chamber, and enough time left to see what's still on the camera.

And of course I have to make time to go vote in this month's contests, and stop by a few gardens.

Seven pounds. Love it. I'm aiming for 3.5 to 4 this grow. If I can sneak another grow in before mid May I should be set for nearly two years of meds. :) One of the best feelings I've ever had, being cannabis independent....all due to stumbling into 420mag one day. :high-five:

Warmed my heart to read that Rifleman. :hugs:

I know right? I've smoked for 30 years, never before have I had such quantity, quality, or variety. It's a running joke now of course "Hey bud, think ya can scrounge up a joint from somewhere. I think I saw a little weed downstairs". Just never gets old!

Warmed my heart to read that Rifleman. :hugs:

I was fortunate enough to stumble into Rifleman very early, and we bonded just a bit over both being over 40 South Park fans. It very much was a day that I knew I'd found a new home.

Alright, time to get this Thursday, October 27th update posted before I get lost in the contests for this month.

Remember to vote, one day left!

Up first is our fourth Dark Devil, at 8 days

Next is our fourth Early Miss, at 22 days (ok, some of these might not actually have EM4 as the real subject...)

The photo clones at 51 days from being cut from mom

Our first NYC Diesel at 43 days, 27 day remaining

Our poor burned up DD3 at day 56, 4 days left in the advertised schedule

Our oldest auto is our second Train Wreck, also at day 56 but with 21 days left to go

Our two photos, first the CKS White Widow with 13 days left, and then the CH9 POW 33 with 6

Family pics

Please, please, please let my own plants come out looking something akin to what you two are pulling off. :adore:

Breathtaking. Just incredible. Give Charlie a scratch behind the ears from me. :battingeyelashes:

Your DDA looks like it was supposed to look like this:

Was that a nute mistake? I figured it was just a freak seed.

Mine's at Day 68 and looks like another couple weeks, at least. Such a unpredictable strain, isn't it? :laughtwo: What do you think it is that keeps us coming back? I get lost in the beauty and the unbelievable buzz.

I really need to get the Lemon Skunk ordered. Hmmmmm..... I hadn't suggested that one to him.

Psst...*Whispers* Now you blame it on having so much that you're forever stoned. :laughtwo:

I potted up another Canuk Seeds Lemon Skunk auto tonight, we've still got lots from the last harvest but she's everyone's favorite so we're committed to keeping her in stock. hehehe.

Our sad little Dark Devil was weird right from the first real leaves she showed, well before we'd given anything but water. Thankfully she's coming down tomorrow night, and the new one (DD4) is looking far better. Hopefully I can keep her pretty. I've got too much (green) Red Poison to grow another one for quite a while, so it's up to the Dark Devils to provide the dramatic color pop.

Forever is no understatement my friend. Jaybiz has been a rolling machine (with the two roller belt style machine) for a few months now, rolling up half a pack for a weekend day. Although I've smoked for a couple more decades than JB, what is brand new to both of us is having a half dozen various strains to switch through in the course of a day. I'd rather smoke 6 joints of different weed than a six paper joint. :)

I had more planned for tonight, but Charlie decided it was time to teach me how to play fetch, and apparently I needed hours of practice before I got it right. I've been working on "sit" in the mornings when the dog gets his special "spending the day in the kennel" treat, and as expected for the breed she's picking it up quite well.

Hey there AK. Someone suggested I look into your growing and wow... Very nice! I'll definitely be buzzing around your tents! I'm a bit new to the grow scene but so far, it's been rewarding! Have a great week.

Peaceful blazing

Welcome Bumble! Please thank that someone for the honor of the recommendation. Once I get caught up I'll stop by and check out your mysteries!

Happy Halloween all.

Today is officially the one year anniversary of the day we started our first grow. Halloween was a Saturday last year, and we spent the afternoon setting up the tent and finalizing the basement setup, only to change it continually for months on end, ending up with the room we have now. It's been a wild ride, and I thank any and all of you that stuck it out this long with me.

Here's the pics from Saturday, the 29th of October.

Apparently I took some family pics first, since it'd been a few days since I took any

DD4 at 10 days

DD3 is up next at 58 days, 2 days left

CKS White Widow clone at 53 days. We watered them in with straight water when we transplanted, that wasn't enough nutes. Next time we'll do 1/3 strength or something

The donor WW, at 94 days, 45 days from flip and with 11 days left. She was also a fussy girl, but is building bud like mad

CH9 POW 33 clone at 53 days

And the donor POW 33, with 4 days left in her advertised flowering schedule

EM4 at 24 days

TW2 at 58 days, 19 days left

NYC Diesel at 45 days, 25 days left

:party:Happy Anniversary!!!!! :slide:  :slide:

What a wonderful year it's been. :woohoo: You've evolved into masterful cultivators. :adore:

Thank you for documenting the tieing up of the legs so beautifully. I like the way you created little hooks with the soft ties. Your latest Train Wreck looks much more controlled than the first. It's so much fun to watch you improve from plant to plant. Amazing work you two.

Jay, if you never post I can't hit you with reps. :battingeyelashes:

A question: you guys seem to harvest very close to the breeder's advertised window. Do you believe this is because most of your seeds are CKS? I've been very impressed with their seeds. I'm getting ready to harvest my first Early Miss and I'll be taking her a week early. I checked her closely today and she's definately ready, but then I don't wait for any amber. She's all flushed cloudy now. I'm really impressed that she came in earlier than advertised.

Hmmmm...... That makes three in a row I'm taking down early. :hmmmm:

Here's my first picture of our first four pots (completely soaked through, oopps) in our first tent under the single CFL. That was our view by this time at night. I probably went down every hour (if not more) for four days waiting for them to hopefully pop up. We were absolutely thrilled!

We have definitely come a long way, and I'm sure glad I eventually convinced you to follow along. :hugs:

Thank you for documenting the tying up of the legs so beautifully. I like the way you created little hooks with the soft ties.

This is the first one I've done all at once, usually it's just the very bottom set of branches. Figured I'd give it a try and see what happens.

For the new Lemon Skunk I'm going to try topping one node higher than usual, then losing the very bottom set. It'll still have three main branches on each side, and won't even have the set of branches I usually "have" to tie up.

It'll be pretty hard to contend with our last LS harvest, but ya never know. :)

Your latest Train Wreck looks much more controlled than the first. It's so much fun to watch you improve from plant to plant. Amazing work you two.

Our first Train Wreck was our first auto to try out the airpot (rather than our usual fabric bags) and had the frame Jaybiz build for me. I think one of the biggest mistakes i made on her was trying to control her too much, too early. I did the usual three branches on each side, but cleaned the first two subsequent nodes on each branch as soon as growth appeared, the same way I do their topping. Usually I'd hope to keep them, then get pissy a week later and cut them off after they were at least a few inches long. That plus some really bad nutrient schedules while she was still trying to recover from the early pruning.

Here she is at the same age as today's pics (still to come hopefully).

TW at 58 days:

Was fun to look back. Also in that post are our two current photos (WW and POW) at 11 days. Sooo small. :)

Your Early miss... is early? Weird!

Totally kidding.

We've been hitting pretty close to the advertised window on Sweet Seeds, Canuk Seeds, and apparently CH9 as well. We have done more CKS than anything though by a good margin, and we've been pretty happy overall as well.

I am jonesing for some new autos though. Every time I ask I get a bunch of suggestions for new photos. Still got three or four photo strains on hand we've yet to try, and a good list from yourself and Shigs, and others of course.

I've been laughing about my early Early Miss all night. :laughtwo:

Ok, I gotta blast this update out before I go to bed. This is my final update of our first year of growing, here on October 31, 2016.

Today also marks the last time I'll be carrying the plants in and out of the grow room.

It's just perfect, even doubles as a seat in the room and a platform to work on stuff at ceiling height. The shipping scale was awesome for my data needs, but this changes my workload completely. Wooohooot.

Here's the view from the door, and onward.

Now for the girls, first up is DD4 at 12 days. She's still a day away from where I want her to be developmentally before she's topped (can't clearly make out the growth nodes under the part to be removed)

DD3 at 60 days, finished by the breeder's advertised scheduled but still a bit wet. We'll take her tomorrow

POW 33 clone at 56 days, she'll go into the flowering tent one her mom is done, after we take a couple clones

EM4 at 26 days

WW clone at 56 days

TW2 at 60 days

NYC Diesel at 47 days. I'm hoping she's finally stopped stretching

POW 33 at 97 days, 48 days from flipping and with one more day left in the breeder's advertised schedule. We'll likely let her go out to Friday I'm thinking.... We'll see

WW at 97 days, 48 days from flipping and with 8 days left

And the usual family shots

Good grief, they look so much better day to day! :thedoubletake:

Excellent lineup. Kuddos on the rack. :high-five: Having the room, as opposed to the tents, was a real game-changer. Well done guys. Well done. :bravo:
