Arteekay's Second Grow - Autos & Feminized - Mixed Strains

Impeccable training. The time you put in really really shows. Makes me smile when I come to visit!

Much smaller scale than your own of course, but it's a start! Next upgrade cycle will likely be in the fall.

RTK....

Everything in your space looks amazing! I aspire to grow plants that look this good. Seeing what you are doing with your 13 day old plant has me interested in topping this lady, but I have never done it...how would I do it?

Looks like you've got a fifth node already showing in the middle of the fourth. I've been taking off the fourth node, so I have three main branches for each side and have gotten comfortable doing it by around day 12, once I'm sure there are new growth nodes below the top I'm taking off really.

Yours is a little bigger than I've been doing mine, but I'd guess the difference will be insignificant. I'd take your fourth node (the smaller one in the middle, not the tiny one in the very center), pull the leafs up like a pony tail, then bend it side to side until it snaps off. Once it snaps in one direction, make sure to bend it over again once more to snap off the other side, rather than pulling on whatever fibers on that side are still holding on.

I personally prefer snapping it off rather than cutting, as I find I can get it done a day or two earlier, but both will work. The important part is to avoid the growth nodes on each side of the branch you are taking off.

Arteekay, WHAT IS THE SIZE OF the openings in the new scrog set up?????

They are two inch squares.

Hear, hear. :bravo: You guys are in a class all your own here. Incredibly beautiful work. Dang, if I could come close. :laughtwo:

You two inspire me to be better. Thank you for that. :hugs::hugs:

May 10 (Tuesday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 68 days old, Dark devil 2 is 57, Lemon Skunk is 53, Candy Cane 3 is 28, and Red Poison is 14. Temp was 86 today with RH at 47% during lights on. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temp was 69 and 54% RH.

Photos: Purple Kush is 35. Temp is 78 and RH is 45% at the canopy, 77 and 47% at the top, 68 and 58% overnight.

  • RP got another 2 liters of bubbled tap water, 600 ml down her stem, 750 around the outside edge of the dirt, and the rest in the tray.
  • LS got soaked with full strength bloom nutes (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 8 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.5 g of DNF Bloom Fortifier) at 967ppm and 5.8 PH

Our first Amnesia Haze auto went into her pot today and is hanging out in the photo tent with the Purple Kush for at least a couple days, if not the first week. We'll need to harvest our second Revolver or Dark Devil to make room for her. Our third Candy Cane (and the first one that we trained) is going crazy and is going to be far outside the edges of her pot in the next week.

Speaking of our Purple Kush, she seems to have now got her feet back under her after the transplant and put on a little bit of height today. Hopefully she'll kick back into stretch mode soon and we can start filling in the scrog.

Our first Red Poison is one day past topping and took the day to recover.

May 11 (Wednesday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 69 days old, Dark devil 2 is 58, Lemon Skunk is 54, Candy Cane 3 is 29, and Red Poison is 15. Temp was 86 today with RH at 43% during lights on. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temp was 70 and 60% RH.

Photos: Purple Kush is 36. Temp is 78 and RH is 45% at the canopy, 77 and 46% at the top, 69 and 62% overnight.

  • D2 and R2 were both soaked with weak nutes for their second pre-harvest flush (6 liters each with 7 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B) at 338ppm and 5.8 PH

We're still evaluating when exactly to finish our second Revolver and Dark Devil. Originally we'd planned to harvest R2 this weekend and D2 next, but by the looks of each I'm now thinking we may finish D2 first, maybe this weekend. R2 is still full of white fluffy pistils, and the nug we cut and dried is pretty airy, like our first Revolver was. So now I'm thinking we'll run the Revolver out another week at least and see what happens.

Our third Candy Cane is gonna be a beast. Her training is going awesome (IMHO) and she brings a smile to my face every time I open the tent.

Our first Lemon Skunk auto is a little over two weeks away by the breeders schedule, and I can't imagine how thick she'll be by then. They claim a 1 or 2 ounce yield, I think we'll get a little more off her, I'll guess 5 right now.

Our first Red Poison seems to have recovered from her topping and is getting back to work, and our first Amnesia Haze should show up tomorrow I'm hoping.

That brings us to our second photoperiod girl, our first CKS Purple kush. She's centered her four tops well in each square, allowing us to pull another round of fan leaves down under the scrog, opening up the top a lot more. I'd imagine she's spend the last couple of days recovering from the transplant, and with any luck she'll stretch enough by the weekend to allow us to do our first tucking. Crossing fingers...

hi mate everything looks:high-five: great as always in your garden

Bill my man! Great to see ya. I'll take that :high-five: and turn it straight into a :passitleft:. I'm absolutely cracked off our first "real" weed, our CKS Crown Royale photoperiod we took down a week or so ago, so it should be a good puff puff pass. :)

Hey arteekay I am not using a ppm meter yet, I will have one for my next grow. My question is my last couple final feedings my fans turned yellow very fast is it possible that too high of ppm could cause this

We really just use ppm in our grow as a sanity check on our mixes, I wouldn't consider it nearly as important as our PH meter. We really need to invest in a good one. Next order.

If you're feeding very heavy, there's always a chance you could be locking out nutes, too much of something causing a lack of absorption of something else that is now in deficiency. I'd guess the answer to be more complex than just what the ppm is for two or so final feedings.

That said, I'm not a great diagnostician yet, at all. If it's a concern I'd consider posting in one of the troubleshooting threads, and of course documenting everything you can in your journal. I'll head over there next.

Impressive grow Arteekay love your precision training and clean setup

Thanks so much Rhetorrikz. I'm sure it could be easily argued I overdo it (as is pretty usual), but so far nobody has been complaining about the results.

I like the way you show just what you're doing with the scrog. Please keep doing that. I'm learning so much watching over your shoulder. :battingeyelashes:

May 12 (Thursday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 70 days old, Dark devil 2 is 59, Lemon Skunk is 55, Candy Cane 3 is 30, and Red Poison is 16. Temp was 87 today with RH at 46% during lights on. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temp was 69 and 54% RH.

Photos: Purple Kush is 37. Temp is 77 and RH is 44% at the canopy, 77 and 46% at the top, 69 and 57% overnight.

  • C3 was soaked with her last grow nutes, and her first at full strength (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Gro A+B and 7.5 ml of calmag+) at 908ppm and 5.8 PH
  • LS was soaked with full strength bloom nutes, her last with bloom fortifier (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 7.5 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.5 g of DNF Bloom Fortifier) at 977ppm and 5.8 PH

Our third Candy Cane continues her training, tying and tucking longer branches and exposing smaller ones to additional light. I've been turning one side left and right on alternating nodes rather than just pulling her straight down and out. Figure I can save some space, and hopefully produce a stronger branch. Our first Candy Cane needed to be supported, hoping I can avoid that with this one.

Nothing much on Purple Kush for today. Tucked a few bigger fan leaves from two of the four taller branches under the the two smaller ones. The difference in size is inconsequential, but I figure I can help one by exposing it directly and hiding others under, to hopefully slow them down just a touch. Either way nothing much happening here until she gains some vertical height. There's at least five nodes ready to start stretching out off the four main branches. Can't wait.

Amnesia Haze has her elbow out, but we'll call tomorrow day one:
