Arteekay's Second Grow - Autos & Feminized - Mixed Strains

Adding humidity is risky, what about mold? I'm at low 40's to high 30's for RH in my drying closet. Still takes about 7 days. How long do you hang?

Cheers

We've only dried in the winter, but we've managed to keep it around the 60's during drying so far without issue. Even then we're only getting about 4 or 5 days before we have to jar them up. We let one go to 6 days and when we jarred her she was already at 60% a day later.

Since then, we've been jarring when the outside is fairly crispy, and hitting around 75% in the jar, dropping it to 62% over the next two or three weeks. It's been working well enough, but suggestions for improvements are always welcome.

We've barely dropped below 35% humidity in either tent since we started. Now that we're running the air conditioning, I expect the humidity to drop though.

are these all autos ? congrats if you get this with autos... i didn't manage to get close to this even with techniques etc.... may be not enough work on my part, but this is the kind of thing that makes want to abandon autos for feminized (for the longer veg and sculpting the plant more easily than an auto). We'll see ont he last two of mine if I get somewhere but it doesn't seem to be heading on the same direction yet (1 Blow Mind ansd 1 Bloody Skunk, topped and lst-ed at least partially. If nugs can become branches, that's the opportunity they get. otherwise, it is "bye bye automatics)). Am I wrong ?

A big ass :high-five: Brothers!!!

Super job Bizzle, that's one to put in the memory books. Excellent work with the homemade scrog, reps to you Bizz... Photoperiod plants are a whole different ballgame, it's monster making ability is untenable compared to autos. You did a marvellous job guys, bravo.
Whom may i ask is the man? Well it's RTK and the Bizz of course :adore:

Wow arteekay the crown royal looks great .I lost my gsc she hermie then 2 days later just dropped her leaves and 4 days later died I was sick .Good thing is I started WiFi and cotton candy.I just got my 5 pack of dark devil auto and some other autos and most resent bought new tent thinking of throwing it up so I have 2 grow rooms now I will have move some furniture around for my new 3×3 x6 tent it's going be just for autos.and vegging photos think I'll just flower in my current area.Your autos are looking great .I'm have to buy a new inline fane and charcoal filter for the new tent before I can put it all up keep up the good work

The 31 day old Purple Kush is our next photoperiod, the rest are autos. We've been wildly impressed with the autos we've grown so far, we've pulled 2.3 pounds from the nine of them. Our last four, the ones from this grow, have been fantastic now that we're topping and training.

Probably by the end of the weekend we'll have our Crown Royale's near-dry weight when she gets jarred up. Sadly, I don't think she's going to produce nearly as much as we'd hoped. I'll still guess 5 ounces, but at one time we were hopeful for 10.

Next one will be better. :)

:high-five:

That scrog is awesome JayBiz. How many of those do you think you can fit into a 4x4 tent?

We purposefully made this one just a touch shy of 2x2, so we can go up to 4 in one tent, assuming we can solve the air movement issues that may present.

Sounds like you'll end up with a similar setup to ours. We're still venting one tent into the other and out through a 4 inch filter and fan. We really need to look at that soon.

Sorry to hear about your GSC, and for my absence from your journals. I'll make it around this weekend, committed to clearing my unread list by Sunday.

May 5 (Thursday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 63 days old, Dark devil 2 is 52, Lemon Skunk is 48, Candy Cane 3 is 23, and Red Poison is 9. Temp was 82 today with RH at 44% during lights on. They are on an 18/6 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temps was 68 and 50% RH.

Photos: Purple Kush is 30. CR is harvested and is drying at the top of the tent. Temp is 71 and RH is 46% at the canopy, 72 and 45% at the top, 69 and 53% overnight. PK is working on her four new tops in the veg tent for one more night.

  • D2 was soaked with full strength bloom nutes (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 8 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.5 g of DNF Bloom Fortifier) at unknown ppm and 5.8 PH
  • R2 was soaked with 6 liters of the same mix as above.

We added the humidifier back into the flowering tent, where our Crown Royale is starting her second day of drying. Hoping we can get it up to around 55-60% for the next couple of days.

Our Third Candy Cane is deep into training now. She'll need to be adjusted daily (or more) for the next week or two. She's gonna be a big one I think, if we can get growth like Candi now with topping and training, I've some hope we'll beat our yield record with her.

May 6 (Friday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 64 days old, Dark devil 2 is 53, Lemon Skunk is 49, Candy Cane 3 is 24, and Red Poison is 10. Temp was 82 today with RH at 39% during lights on. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temp was 69 and 44% RH.

Photos: Purple Kush is 31. CR is harvested and is drying at the top of the tent. Temp is 74 and RH is 47% at the canopy, 79 and 58% at the top, 69 and 53% overnight. PK is finally in her airpot, alone in her own tent under the spider also at 20/4 for another couple weeks.

  • RP got 2 liters (up from 1.5 four days ago) of bubbled tap water at 5.8 PH
  • PK got soaked into her new pot with half strength grow nutes (8 liters with 20 ml each of DNF Gro A+B and 5 ml of calmag+) at 611ppm and 5.8 PH
  • LS was soaked with full strength bloom nutes (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 8 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.5 g of DNF Bloom Fortifier) at 987ppm and 5.8 PH

Big day! Jaybiz took delivery of a third Mars II 900, to cover the outage of the one that I'm getting parts on a slow boat from China to repair. New driver, fan and apparently some kind of assortment of LED diodes I'm supposed to replace myself. Good God. Hopefully I can get it back up and running, and we can add it to Jaybiz's photo tent.

Anyway, the new one is the new model, and man does it piss me off all over again that I didn't get this model when we ordered the first two, as originally promised. It has a noticeably different arrangement of LEDs, which I guess isn't really that surprising. I think I remember it's supposed to have better drivers as well, crossing my fingers I can go over three months without a light failure.

That frees up the Spider for our newly transplanted Purple Kush to move back into the photo tent.

Both of our second girls, the Dark Devil and the Revolver, are a week away by the breeders schedule. I think both can go at least another two weeks, so we'll keep pumping nutes into them for one more cycle.

Our third Candy Cane continues to impress me with new growth and ease of training. She's been willing to spin every node level with the horizon, so I haven't had to clip any "bottom" branches yet. Big hopes for her.

The first one worked well enough, but this one is already better, it's nice to be able to grab the vertical posts to pick her up and move her around, rather than trying to grip the airpot when it's full of water.

The design is free to use, but ya gotta post pics! :)

May 7 (Saturday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 65 days old, Dark devil 2 is 54, Lemon Skunk is 50, Candy Cane 3 is 25, and Red Poison is 11. Temp was 81 today with RH at 34% during lights on. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temp was 67 and 44% RH.

Our Purple Kush had her scrog attached today, we'll let her come up through it and start training her up. Otherwise it was a pretty easy day.

Hopefully got ourselves knocked up again, with our first CKS Amnesia Haze

Autos: Revolver 2 is 66 days old, Dark devil 2 is 55, Lemon Skunk is 51, Candy Cane 3 is 26, and Red Poison is 12. Temp was 85 today with RH at 35% during lights on. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temp was 69 and 39% RH.

Photos: Purple Kush is 33. Temp is 82 and RH is 58% at the canopy, 80 and 63% at the top, 70 and 61% overnight.

  • C3 was soaked with 2/3 strength grow nutes, up from quarter strength last watering (6 liters with 20 ml each of DNF Gro A+B and 5 ml of calmag+) at 720ppm and 5.8 PH
  • LS was soaked with full strength bloom nutes (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 8 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.5 g of DNF Bloom Fortifier) at 969ppm and 5.8 PH
  • R2 was soaked with quarter strength bloom nutes as a pre-harvest flush (6 liters with 7 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B) at 351ppm and 5.8 PH

Our second CKS Revolver auto started her pre-harvest flush today, the bloom fortifier needs to be stopped 7 days before harvest, so the earliest she will get chopped is next monday. Our second Dark Devil auto is only a few days behind her for finishing times, but I'm thinking we'll run her out to the following weekend, so she'll get one more dose of full strength before she gets the same weak strength nutes as her flush.

Our first Lemon Skunk auto is a few days over three weeks from her finishing time, according to the breeder. We can see no reason she'd finish earlier, so she'll keep getting pushed for another two weeks at least.

We've been topping at 12 days for the last four plants, but I'm guessing due to our light failure our first Sweet Seeds Red Poison isn't ready at 12 days. Maybe tomorrow.

I was hoping for a 5 week veg on our second photoperiod, the CKS Purple Kush, but because of the light failure and our desire to reuse the scrog from our harvested Crown Royale we purposefully slowed her down a bit. With any good luck she'll start stretching like mad now and we can start filling in her scrog. Her four tops were kinda ponytailed into the four middle squares as you can see in today's after pictures.

RP at 12 days (9.6 lbs, down from 10.4 yesterday):

Wow, new setup is killing it, R&D2 are beautiful and large. I'm guessing that some strains need to be LST'ed to get a decent yeild. Anything over 150 g is a decent pull per plant in my book. My NP showed how much I need to learn. Anyway, have a good one guys.

Cheers

The structure of your plants is absolutely beautiful. You are artists. I would hang prints of your photos on my walls as inspiration. Everytime i stop in here all i can do is shake my head and say "wow".

I agree, I'll be happy with 150 g's a plant for the foreseeable future. We're pretty much treating all the autos to the same training regardless of strain, but I can see tweaking that as we get more familiar with what each strain prefers.

I'm hoping for big things from D2, she's definitely going to yield better than our first but I still think we can do better with our third. :)

Take care my friend.

Thanks Laz! We've definitely come a long way in a fairly short time. Looking forward to the next generation for sure. :)

We took a good nug from our second Revolver tonight, to properly dry (and maybe even cure a tiny bit) for this weekend. Jaybiz came up with the idea of smoking our first taste while we harvest her, and that was just fucking brilliant so of course we did it.

I'm incredibly pleased with our third Candy Cane's growth and training, she'll be 4 weeks tomorrow and there's very little I would have wanted to do differently, so far.

Our first Red Poison hit 13 days before her topping, up a day from the last bunch we've done. I'm guessing that's mostly a result of the reduced light during the failure. Meh.

Our first Amnesia haze has cracked and looks to be going into her pot tomorrow. She'll sprout in the tent with the Purple Kush, as both tents are on 20/4 right now and it's a little tight in the auto tent. Once our second Revolver hits harvest she can move back in with her sisters.

Everything in your space looks amazing! I aspire to grow plants that look this good. Seeing what you are doing with your 13 day old plant has me interested in topping this lady, but I have never done it...how would I do it?
