Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Strains

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

RTK they at looking bushy! And I think they are going to get better and better! Excited for you man. Love to see plants that look energized. They are back in business and ready to party.

Some portion, likely not insignificant, of my harvest will be directly due to your involvement and keen eye.

Growing is truly the barrel with water in it. Each of the barrel staves is a different height when we grow. Whatever the length of the shortest piece of wood between the two barrel hoops determines where the water will spill out. Only by equalizing the length of each piece of wood will the barrel hold its full load of water. You have floor heat and watering covered. New light ready to go in. You will lengthen each barrel stave one at a time until your grow is pumping the best it can be!

Spot on metaphor, and one I haven't run in to previously.

Well, I'm happy and relieved to report that Mars and I have worked out our differences, and I feel I can finally talk about the rest of the improvements in my tent.

My flower tent is my new ~4x4 mars tent, now with two Mars II 900w LEDs in it. Girls are absolutely flooded with light. They are both about 20 inches above the tallest top. Big improvement top and bottom now, thanks of course to Shiggity on the weekend even.

Tonight's pics, a little later in the day than yesterday, but still before they start really getting ready for bed.

Well, this one is actually from after bed last night, forgot it was still on my camera.

Now really tonight, shows pretty well home much they change from day to night.

Flowers coming up everywhere. Woot.

Little Revolver coming along.

My pale girl. Bottom three leaf clusters are done, but not seeing any further lightening.

Droopy is still droopy. Overwatered I'm guessing. She's still considerably heavier than her sisters. Maybe she was more prone to cold feet from the slab before it was insulated.

Britney, my Early Miss, has for sure survived her near decapitation. EST remains a questionable training technique.

Random flower, can't remember off which.

Really don't like how the Mars lights look on my plants in pictures. The spider made for more dynamic pictures.

Gardens looks great, sorry to read about your gardens little hiccup but obviously you got it all under control now because they look great:goodjob: It is always nice when a fellow member come forward and helps get you back on track. Looks like Shigg does it again:thumb:
I need to start following your grow a little closer since I just bought a Mars 2 900 myself.

Let me guess, yours got switches I bet.

Grrrr.

Figured out how to stop the older model's tendency to turn 45 degrees from the tent, buy two, add a bumper to both and let them touch (of course while still allowing airflow). I'll take a tent pic tomorrow if the description isn't clear.

Things are definitely picking up. The new lights are great, but the cold slab would have caused me untold ongoing issues and I'm incredibly happy to have that solved.

Excited RTK it's looking sweet in there, even little Britney! And thanks OG just following your good example!

My next pet will at least be nicknamed Shiggs. Seriously bud, if I was worth anything I'd put ya in my will.

I keep telling you guys, "I learned from watching you sir":hugs:

I'll be paying it forward for sure, just an incredible place this :420:

I'm just stoked that we caught it fairly early. Many growers have the same issue and chase the problem with nutrients. They never think about their girls cold feet and going yellow and drooping is one of the only ways they can tell us. I am truly honored at the thought of being a pet's nickname. My pets are my life.

The great thing is that now you will run across the same symptoms in someone else's grow and you will save their garden. That is the best part. We have become a group conciousness on this forum. It truly is a great place to be!

Oh yeah another thing, just a random thought. This is another reason that if using tap water we let it sit out (also on insulated floor) pouring 55-60 degree water directly into a pot can really shock our girls. MaryJane hates cold feet and will not grow when her feet are colder than her head. The gardens where they don't let water and arm up lose a whole day of flower every time they shock their plants with cold water.

I definitely would have if not for your post, I didn't have any real intentions of worrying about the floor for a while, despite spending time and energy very early in our build trying to solve it. No clue why we stopped thinking about it.

Glad to hear it really, imagined the "come here Shiggs" and thought you might find that disrespectful.

Tonight's pictures, first the usual set of "glam" shots:

They look decent, all starting to perk up, stretch and grow me some buds. I'm not even worried at all about little Britney anymore, she's doing better than her namesake.

But lurking under the purple cover is a few problems, mostly on the pale girl from the weekend but starting on all of them except the two airpots.

Pale CC from the weekend is on the right.

The bottom most set on the pale girl from the weekend. These I expected to be cooked. Should I remove them? They are fully yellow besides about an inch right at the stem.

And we noticed this today about four or so nodes up from the yellowed ones on the same girl.

And this is from my second biggest girl. Just starting.

I'm guessing we didn't catch them in time to prevent this deficiency, not surprising really, that one was neon pale.

They are at least a day or two for the biggest, and maybe 4 or 5 for Droopy, away from watering or feeding. Assuming we were right about nute lockout from the cool feet, any suggestions on how I should feed them next time?

They had 1/4 strength two weeks ago, and 1/2 strength last Thursday at 5.8 and about 500ppm. Runoff was 5.8 and about 100ppm. Not sure of temp, but likely not below about 65.

My calmag gives a dosage for foliar spray, think there's any value there? Considered it for after bedtime tonight.

I only have on hand:

DNF Grow A+B and Bloom A+B and calmag+ 2-0-0

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

I'd rather do too little than too much, easier to recover from. So I'm not going to do anything with them tonight and try my best to notice if it's worse or not tomorrow after work.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

everything looks like its done a complete 180 man good job managing the tent, i would say environment is second in importance when growing the most important being light source. i like the black ops carbon filters, ive seen vaderOG on youtube using them as well and he seems to love them also

Thanks so much for the shoutout on your latest Youtube video, I had to tell everyone I knew! No magic to my nick, you got it right.

:adore:

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

This is only my two cents.
Your runoff water was pretty low ppm. Try giving full dose of nutrients. They might need some more nitrogen. I have read that it is normal that to lower leaves turn yellow. I would also do a bug check. I googled your problems and the sings are suggesting a watering issue. I wouldn't count out that they are root bound also. It might even be root rot. How Do I Recognize and Prevent Root Rot in Soil?

Check those drainage holes.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Looks like calcium lockout from pH being way off, to me. *shrug* soil - who knows!

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Calcium definciency seems like. Molasses is good for that. Takes 2 weeks to break down in soil so, egg shells grinded down to a powder and top dressed ( go easy). Good luck! Keep up the great work bud.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

I would add a mild dose of cal-mag to the nutrients since you have it but cut it off a few weeks into flower because it has nitrate. I just got in a chelated calcium phosphate supplement I am going to use that doesn't have any nitrate (maybe small trace amounts). They also need it mostly for the stretch. I would put Britney on a pedestal to get her up and closer to the lights. Keep your yellow fans on as they are a source of nutes for the plant. When they are ready to fall off you will know, the slightest brush will make them fall. Pants being green should just be leftover symptoms from the cold floor. Lets see what they look like this next update.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

PH first

If you're using tap water, there already exists an abundance of calcium carbonate. Mmmmm!
