Arctic Bowl's 1st Ever Attempt At A Grow Journal

Hmmmmmm good point your spring is probably June. Mines April.

But if it’s only 2-3 days I could go hunt a bear in October November

Well, you know spring bears can be a little tricky weather wise.........if it stays cold bears don’t show, if it warms up then they are out early, you know the drill, if ya hit it just right you can find a bear that’s just coming out from it’s den and is a bit sluggish still.

2-3 days..........maybe early Sept for a Caribou fly out hunt, I’d plan for more like a week total though, 3-4 days hunt, the rest travel and processing. Plus a bou tag you can purchase and not need the guide thing like non residents do to hunt bears or mountain animals. But of course there will be a bear tag in the spike camp and if your weapon happens to go off accidentally and a bear dies.............. guess we will have to use that bear tag. I’m pretty sure we could convince Dabs to go to the killing fields as well so maybe your weapon might have to accidentally go off twice  and on purpose a few times for bou.

Blessed Buds our friend and be well :passitleft:

Good morning to ya D ...and J..oh , and friends too! Up at 5 am this morning getting ready to travel to this hockey tourny! Son has developed a cough and is stuffed up. Great eh,..not a good way to sart his tourny. At least he has no fever and his attitude is positive , so,..it's a 'go'...we're travelin. Have a great day and weekend you guys.:circle-of-love:

I have never hunted spring bear. I would assume they would be much smaller and less fat. How is the taste. I usually like to make bear sausage if I get a bear...but not sure spring bears would be good for that....though they might be more tender after laying around for several months.

Heya Van, for grizz spring time they will weigh less for sure but if it’s a costal bear spring is better for eating them because in the fall they will be stuffed full of salmon an taste just like a salmon so not great eating. Interior grizz are cool to eat spring or fall provided they haven’t gotten into the fish, down side of interior grizz is they are normally smaller in size than their coastal cousins. Go above the brooks range and they have some of the most gorgeous hides, nice bright silver tips, I’m guessing from all the sunlight but I don’t know that as fact just what I’ve observed while out hunting. The coastal grizz can get very big, 10 foot plus is not unheard of and there are several viewing areas that they hold lottery type drawings for like the falls at Katmi park, if you see videos of grizz fishing by a water falls it is most likely from that area. Beautiful to watch from a boat.......I’m not interested in standing on the bank with them to watch them feed on salmon  yup, I’m a chicken shit when it comes to the big ol grizz :-)

When I hunt up north I get to try all sorts of Eskimo food, most is not for me lol. I did try some polar bear meat and it’s the nicest looking red meat ever........but oh my lord.......that taste is something else, tastes just like raw fish no matter how much it’s cooked  MukTuk is another one along with seal oil..........gag a damn maggot I tell ya......just nasty lol, MukTuk is whale blubber and it’s either white or black, the locals claim the black is the best........well, not to hurt anyone’s feelings but F me, it’s like a chewy piece of bubble gum that just keeps growing in your mouth but taste like, well, whale lol. The seal oil is from the fat harvested from seals, when it’s first collected it’s clear color and no Oder to speak of, well you guessed it, they don’t eat it until it’s a yellowish color and stinks like seal.....dip fish strips into it or just drink it........oh, hell no!!! fermented beaver tail is another but it’s gross even compared to these others lmfao.

So much for that -50 they're saying 20 s sunday and possibly 25 26 on Monday ... Aren't you glad I brought the heat of the desert with me?

Be well bud ..

Rider like you some bear do ya? Lol Dabs will have to send ya some :-)
I love me some bear! Bear is good eating when prepared right. This is before and after shots of my kitchen when my bro-in-law cooked a stuffed Alaskan bear heart. Dude is a decent chef but a fricking messy chef and he doesn't expect to have to clean up. He's banned from cooking at my house... forever. I did a moose roast on the barby that same night. That was some good grub.

Heya Duggs!!!
Great the young guys had fun and sounds like your lil man kicked some ass as well. Sure miss going to games, use to go watch the semi-pro team play......lol remember Link Getz (sp) goon platoon? Played pros then came down to semis, great big man! Loved to fight and he use to see how fast he could get tossed from the game so he could go drink beer  never saw him loose a fight either or even close, normally 1 or 2 shots and it was lights out for the poor guy on the other end of his punches. No way I’d drop my stick with that giant, I’d have to keep it an beat him with it and hope that would be enough for him not to kill me

Wish we lived closer Duggs could knock that lil plumbing task out for ya and save ya a few bucks. Enjoy your evening with Mare brother! How’s she feeling????

The Malawi gals are getting a little heavy so they well get a few sticks to help them along a bit. Good frost showing and some of the other strains will be about half way thru flower Sunday so we shall see if they are 8-9 week flowers here pretty soon. Hung the G8 up over the topped Malawi, she was in a spot where the light wasn’t so great over her so the G8 filled that void. Lol I need Buck and Duggs to come up for the weekend and get some 20 amp circuits run for us  we’ll feed yas, give you smoke and drink plus you’ll piss your selfs laffing at us

Blessed Buds our friends and be well :passitleft:
