Aloha Grown With Sunny

Aloha! @Mr. Sauga :hugs: Mahalo my friend! Things could be better but I’m hanging in there. Always wonderful for you to stop in! I hope all is blessed with you in Sauga land!

:passitleft:

Aloha All!

I’m gonna break this up into a few posts tonight so bare with me!

Gonna kick it off with the auto-flowers and how I plant them for anyone that happens to breeze through the thread looking for info.

I have posted this stuff a couple times here in the past but it’s been a “flurry” of plants in here since then and that info can get buried in my normal jibber jabbin.

I’m rockin 2 gallon cloth pots this round instead of my normal 3 gallons. No real reason either then I got more plants going at once now with more varieties so maximizing space.

Soil this round is Royal Gold Kings Mix Manufactured in Humbolt Co. It’s a nice light and airy blend that drains fairly fast out the bag. I normally would add 20% extra perlite but this won’t be necessary since the soil consistency is good

I like to fill my pots to the top and then gently lift and drop them a inch off the ground to help the soil to settle in to the pot so I’m maximizing potential root space and soil capacity. If you got larger pots go for it!

I plant my autos directly into their final home from germination to harvest. It’s just the simplest way for me personally and I’m a gifted clumsy so it’s just better this way for me.

After filling your pots I make a hole in the center about 4”z deep to add my plant probiotic and mix it ip

There are other products like this on the market. This just happens to be the one I bought and it’s worked for me.. that and I refuse to buy anything else till I use it up lol..

After mixing up the plant probiotic into the soil I give the pots/soil a watering of BlueGold super carb at 2ml to a gallon of water

I

Once that’s done I go ahead and plant my seeds and wait. I like to put a dome over the freshly planted seeds to keep the humidity up until they break the surface and then it’s go time!

I don’t pamper the seedlings and they are born into full sun from the get go. Only the strong survive in my book and I’m not afraid to cull a seedling and plant another one. My time, resources and energy don’t align too well with a weak looking seedlings that just doesn’t have the mustard.

Ok now to present day! These autos are at about 13 days old from germination. Pics are labeled with strains :D

The pot with two seedlings are two different strains. I was plenty stoned and planted two seeds in the same pot.. Yeah I know.. *facepalm* to my surprise when they both germinated.

I am gonna just let them grow and braid them together as they get taller.. hoping one goes purple while the other doesn’t... I think would make for a super cool looking photo

Ok on to the next set of plants!

:passitleft::passitleft:
Sunny..we are about the same place on a new auto grow. Really good info you are putting out there on autos...a bit different than photos but results can be amazing. Looking forward to your opinion on the new soil. I will be watching your photos with interest. Snow stopped...snow shoes and out tomorrow morning.

I just wanted to take a moment to shout out the righteous Braddahs over at one of our site sponsors @GreenSafe

Gary and Bill and team mahalo!! Speaking to you both on the phone about your products was a wonderful and enlightening conversation.

I could feel the amount of heart and dedication involved with your products and that alone got me excited to try them in my gardens. Sending you and your team lots love and respect!

We're excited to be a part of your journey! Thanks for the shout-out. We're happy we could supply you with our product, and a huge thank you to you for giving our products a good run-through.

Aloha Braddah cr8! The new soil seems like some pretty legit stuff. I like it better then the Mother Earth soil I was using but I will wait to see how these plants finish out. It’s a fast draining soil so I know my girls won’t have wet feet for long. Stay warm up there on the 3rd coast my Braddah! Aloha!

Hey Sunny, good things going on here! I'm excited to see your braid come along!

Aloha Stone! Always wonderful to have you stop by and mahalo for the kind words! I’m excited for the auto braid as well lol.. makin lemonade when life hands you lemons kinda situation but I’m up for the challenge. I hope all is blessed with you and the ohana my friend! Aloha!

Sunny my friend. I lost track of you and your Journal somehoe through my COVID sloth ness. Funny thing about -40C is that is equals -40F. When this is over I’m coming your way for some rays. Be saving for that vacay.

Aloha Reave! No worries my Braddah! Covid sucks harder then a apple through a 100ft water hose haha I just hope you and ohana are safe! Stay warm! You ever catch a bird down here I’ll have some killa smoke for ya.

We're excited to be a part of your journey! Thanks for the shout-out. We're happy we could supply you with our product, and a huge thank you to you for giving our products a good run-through.

Aloha Dave! Mahalo for the kind words and support! I am stoked for the opportunity to give them a try in my gardens here in the coming weeks as the next set of photo period plants get bigger. The autos will be getting the amendment on their next feeding. I hope you are having a wonderful day! Aloha!

Some quick snaps of the buds last night. I discovered some spider mite damage on the lower leaves so going to rain hell on those little bastards tonight with the cleaner from @GreenSafe

Sending you all lots of love and positivity from Hawaii as always!

Aloha Friends!! :love::love:

Forgive me for not posting finished plant shots of the photo period plants that were flowering. I got hit with spider mites at the end 6 weeks flower and during my campaign of raining hell on those little web weaving bastards the plants got beat up pretty bad..

I think I mixed the @GreenSafe cleaner a touch to strong(I was over zealous with my measurement) I won the war but at a cost and my OCD is going haywire. Plants got cut and are hanging just under 8 weeks.. Disappointing but grateful I caught it before losing too much at harvest. Dry bud pics will follow when ready.

Flower Tent got a thorough cleaning but I plan to pull everything out once a week to get sprayed and wiped.. ultra paranoid now about the bugs but staying vigilant on pest management keeps my OCD satisfied from lighting the whole damn tent on fire in the lawn... (but forreal tho)

Here are the next set of plants that are going to be vegging for a bit in the flower tent. Pics are labeled

My apologies for not being present in everyone’s threads lately. Life as been kind of flipped upside down for me lately so my schedule is a bit thrown off and behind. I’ve been balancing work and my kids full time while they’re mom battles her mental illness and receives treatment. It’s something she has battled with all her life but this latest flare up was hectic and beyond my own understanding and professional care was necessary. Any whoo enough of that.

I will make time to update the auto flowers tomorrow. I also took clones from the 3 most vigorous growing autos and plan to reverse one to make seed once the clones take root... hopefully. This is quite possibly the cutest bubble cloner ever in existence lol..

That’s all for now. If you are reading this please don’t forget to nourish your own well being mentally and emotionally.. If you feel alone know that you got a friend in Hawaii that is happy to listen. Sending you all lots and lots of love and respect from Hawaii as always!

Some beautiful plants as always Sunny. Love the variety that you always have. Myself, I am lucky to get one plant going let alone five different kinds. Guess my thumbs aren't as green as I thought. lol Mental health can be a hard road tp follow but if everyone is on board then all will be fine. Been there and know it doesn't always turn out for the best. Sending lots of love to your wife, you and your kids. In the end, family is all you have so keep tight , happy and safe.

Mahalo my Braddah for the kind words and love  Taking it a day at a time is the best course of action. Thankfully I’ve been blessed with wonderful friends and family for support. Just makes me think about those who don’t have the same support or feel like they don’t got support. My heart certainly goes out to them. Mahalo again my friend!

Sending lots of loves to you and the ohana Sunny!!

Sorry to hear about the spider mites, that’s a real pain. I think van stank had success getting rid of them by doing sulfer burns every so often. Hopefully you just got rid of them all already.

I’ve just been staying on it with the daily cleaning/wipe down of the tent and pots when I’m in there checking on them. Thankfully it’s only isolated to the flower tent with the photo periods so it’s not a big time suck to get it done quickly.

I hope all is blessed with you and ohana! My daughter asked me to make kalua pig in the oven so I got a big pork shoulder going now. Was thinking about you and Mr.H! I’ll post up pics in my other thread since it’s not canna related.

They look absolutely perfect my friend. Beautiful work.

My daughter asked me to make kalua pig in the oven so I got a big pork shoulder going now. Was thinking about you and Mr.H!
This is too funny Sunny, I just picked up a pork shoulder last night and thought of you!! But man, they sent me an 8 lb one, might need to cook that baby longer.

Glad it seems the spider mites are handled nicely. Ladies are looking lovely as always. After you loved it so much, I grabbed some of those mandarins cream xl’s and I just got the seed delivery yesterday! Looking forward to that one.

Glad to hear you have so much support around you. Sending you and the ohana positive vibes from across the pacific.

Looking good Sunny. Lots of different projects to keep that mind running at all times, I like it!
Aloha and I hope you and the family enjoy the weekend, my friend.

Mahalo for the kind words and compliment Braddah Bill! Mega Crop makes it easy for me. I hope all is blessed in your world my friend

Aloha HH! Heck yeah! I turned the oven off before coming to work so all that residual heat will continue to soften that shoulder up. I’ll shred it and adjust the seasoning when I get home. I hope yours comes out amazing!!

Yes!! the Cream Mandarine xl is some yummy smoke! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on her. The stinkalicious factor on her gets the double thumbs up from me  I’m staying vigilant on the mites. I literally inspect every leaf in the flower tent as I’m wiping down the pots with the cleaner from @GreenSafe.

Sending and ohana lots of love from Hawaii as always!

Aloha and I hope you and the family enjoy the weekend, my friend.

Aloha Braddah Justin! Yes gotta keep the brain in forward gear always. I hope you and ohana have a blessed and safe weekend as well!

Rolled up this little brain snack before I get rolling in the office at work. I clipped a bud from the hanging chocolate mint og and finished drying it on the light ballast last night. Pretty happy with the density even though she didn’t go full term.. She is covered in trichs and still stinks to high heaven.

Breakdown she has that strong skunk og gas funk to her. Not bad for being a fast dried and no cure. Fingers are sticky as fruck.. had to lick my finger tips to roll the joint as my fingers were getting stuck to the paper and jamming up the initial tuck before the roll..

Flavor is still pretty green but I do get some herbally sweetness on the exhale. Effects are immediate to the brain and behind the eyes.. Gonna smoke the rest of this joint and will update later on the effects. This should be interesting tackling emails haha

Sending you all lots of love and positivity from Hawaii as always!!:love::love::love::love:
