Just a quick hello Sunny! The garden is friggin' frosty brother. Beautifully done again! Stay well, and my best to you and the family.
Aloha!
@Mr. Sauga Mahalo my friend! Things could be better but I’m hanging in there. Always wonderful for you to stop in! I hope all is blessed with you in Sauga land!
Aloha All!
I’m gonna break this up into a few posts tonight so bare with me!
Gonna kick it off with the auto-flowers and how I plant them for anyone that happens to breeze through the thread looking for info.
I have posted this stuff a couple times here in the past but it’s been a “flurry” of plants in here since then and that info can get buried in my normal jibber jabbin.
I’m rockin 2 gallon cloth pots this round instead of my normal 3 gallons. No real reason either then I got more plants going at once now with more varieties so maximizing space.
Soil this round is Royal Gold Kings Mix Manufactured in Humbolt Co. It’s a nice light and airy blend that drains fairly fast out the bag. I normally would add 20% extra perlite but this won’t be necessary since the soil consistency is good
I like to fill my pots to the top and then gently lift and drop them a inch off the ground to help the soil to settle in to the pot so I’m maximizing potential root space and soil capacity. If you got larger pots go for it!
I plant my autos directly into their final home from germination to harvest. It’s just the simplest way for me personally and I’m a gifted clumsy so it’s just better this way for me.
After filling your pots I make a hole in the center about 4”z deep to add my plant probiotic and mix it ip
There are other products like this on the market. This just happens to be the one I bought and it’s worked for me.. that and I refuse to buy anything else till I use it up lol..
After mixing up the plant probiotic into the soil I give the pots/soil a watering of BlueGold super carb at 2ml to a gallon of water
Once that’s done I go ahead and plant my seeds and wait. I like to put a dome over the freshly planted seeds to keep the humidity up until they break the surface and then it’s go time!
I don’t pamper the seedlings and they are born into full sun from the get go. Only the strong survive in my book and I’m not afraid to cull a seedling and plant another one. My time, resources and energy don’t align too well with a weak looking seedlings that just doesn’t have the mustard.
Ok now to present day! These autos are at about 13 days old from germination. Pics are labeled with strains
The pot with two seedlings are two different strains. I was plenty stoned and planted two seeds in the same pot.. Yeah I know.. *facepalm* to my surprise when they both germinated.
I am gonna just let them grow and braid them together as they get taller.. hoping one goes purple while the other doesn’t... I think would make for a super cool looking photo
Ok on to the next set of plants!
