Im with you Alex, anyone doing it for first time could make same mistake. But damn does it make me chuckle thinking of that moment of your realizing like said above. Very funny. Especially when no harm really done.

And given the fact that through the summer months I kept temps to 85 with hps and I can't get below 90-95 in winter with metal halide
Iv decided
To revert to hps as of tomorrow morning. Hopefully il be able stableise in the 80s
If not I no it's down to the heating pipes and I really got some thinking to do. But it's well known MH run hotter than HPS so fingers crossed guys
 
With this style some stretch from hps is your friend. Also I always noticed that even vegging under my CFLs that have always done me so well. That when I switch to hps the stems fatten up considerably from the point of growth under hps? so for me finishing under hps for veg made sense so you might be on a winner. Also you might have found another massive positive to this style, if it can be done simply under hps but to great yield. This would do great things for growers on a budget.!!!
 
Is it maybe possible to box the heating pipes in with a bit of ply or mdf and stuff the box with insulation? Should take a couple of degrees off, and wont cost the earth.
 
Also my friend would it be possible to put a metal tin thats water proof on top of hot pipes, fill it up with water and you should get awesome humidity. If it vents to above? Just a daft idea.
 
Hopefully works great LA iv ran hps start to finish with a few strains with no issues before :)
A wuestion to u LA on ur flux you chopped every other node off. If you were not stunting your girl do you think ud still off every other? Or would you go with every 3rd maybe? I guess it might depend how tight the nodes are

Temps this morning read 88' with RH 34% that's with hearing on and lights been for 4 hours now

thanx mate it feels rather great to be back although my Padmavati has decided to use 420 it is on a time limit so please fogive me for not coming over to sirius as yet but I will make it :Love:still sometime is far better than no time an as yet she hasnt said the normal you spend far to long on that site
 
Hey chap yeah its just down to how close nodes are really. Your gonna leave more foliage on than I did, as your not stunting. So yours should fly along !

La that's another thought but...... The pipes just stick up threw the floor....my drip try sits on top of most of them and the drip tray iv already filled up with water lol..... I think il be stripping what's below the top nodes today. Do u suggest everything below.... Nodes and fans or just nodes? I'm fairly confident with it after this point. Il just be doing stripping as and wen threw veg :)

Hey Sir Alex, hey all. With stripping just get the shoots leave the fans as your not stunting so like you say defol as and when needed through veg! Best of buds all.
 
Lol.....that might explain the apparent stopping of any growth on a few of mine :) I cut the fans (accidentally and only one side lol) off a couple of mine DOHHHHHHHHHH
