Alaskan1's Flo n Gro Mixed Bag Grow

Here are tonights totals

Hawaiian Big Bud 4 5/8 oz

Mojo 4 3/4 oz

Head Cheese 3 3/4 oz

BC God Bud 6 5/8 oz

Lemon Kush 5 7/8 oz

AK 47 10 oz

Urban Posion is not ready yet. Will pull in two days and give totals and pictures of that.

Undried trim weight was 4 pounds....why so much? All the blueberry plants we didn't even trim just threw it all in the trim pile

AND, finally figured out the macro setting on my camera for nice close up pictures lol

NICE PICS!! And nice haul, too

Urban, or Durban Poison? Check your names...

Urban = Nirvana = Durban Poison x Northern Lights
Durban = Mostly South African Landrace

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it in your first post. It's Urban Poison....DUH! Sorry...I'm going to bed now.

Thanks Jandre, yeah it helps when one reads the owners manual to their camera instead of bitching it's a piece a crap lol

We are happy with the haul so far considering everything we have gone through. My guess is we will get at least 10 oz from the two Urban Poison. Colas are so heavy that the stems won't hold them up any longer.
As far as I know I'm only one of two people growing Urban Poison in western wa. And I got the clone from the other grower :)
By far so far the big winner was the Lemon Kush as that weight was from ONE plant

Sounds good A1, can't wait to hear the final weights, will be maybe 1.5 lbs....Buds and the trimming looks good too.

Good stuff A1! Nice pics and great harvest numbers. :thumb:
Which tent was this from? I know you have 3 now.
I also didn't realize you had so many different strains going, very nice and can't wait for your smoke reports.
I for one really enjoy trimming, but to each their own and sounds like you had a blast :high-five:

Thanks for all the great pics and I hope the change you are making is the right one for your environment!
:peace:

so many strains their mate, you sure got plenty to choose from, so no getting bored with the same buds every day, well done mate, looks like you got a good harvest, all the hard work paid off,

Woohoo! Congrats on a great harvest!

:cheertwo::party:

Those buds and trim look fabulous. I think you are making a wise decision on the Zone. With all you've been battling, it will really help keep things more sterile I think. Sure has worked well for me.

You've had to battle a lot of issues, but you've persevered with a positive, can-do attitude. I've really enjoyed watching how much you've progressed and learned, and you'll reap the rewards from a very nice looking crop. You progressed much more in one grow than I did in three. Look at all you've overcome! +rep for a great start to growing, problems and all!

:high-five:

NICE JOB!!!

Agreed 420%! +REPS from me, too! :welldone:

Alaskan1 -

I just now remembered I had this!

Corey from Blue Planet Nutrients put this together for me. He also had me test this recipe for him, and it seemed to work very fine as an alternative to the Dutch Master "Zone" product during the time that I used it.

Since you mentioned it, I thought I would send you the info. I'm not sure if this is exactly the same as the Dutch Master product. In the world of nutrients and additives, they often don't list many, even most, of the ingredients due to weird outdated government regulations. But, I've used this recipe and it seemed to work equally well during the time I used it (I'm out now and am back to using some Dutch Master product that I had stored in my cabinet).

First of all, VERY IMPORTANT!!! : TOO MUCH copper will KILL your plants. no Joke. So please, please, please, if you use this recipe you must have a VERY accurate scale. something like a jewelers scale that measures grams to at least one decimal place.

This recipe is for 1 gallon of homemade RootZone DM

first of all, when buying copper sulfate, there a couple different formulations for that particular chemical. so, what I have done is this: The following link is for 500 grams of copper sulfate pentahydrate
CHEM CU SULFATE PENTA ACS 500G - Laboratory Chemicals - Laboratory Supplies - 8EJ50 : Grainger Industrial Supply

The molecular weight of copper sulfate pentahydrate is 249.68
The molecular weight of copper is 63.546
divide 63.546 by 249.68 and you will find that copper sulfate pentahydrate is 25.6% copper. If you use another form of copper sulfate, make sure that you know the molecular weight of the compound which you can find using a periodic table. the reason I say this is that there is also Copper(II) sulfate (cupric sulfate) which has a higher percentage of copper because it is not hydrated.
Anyway, for 1 gallon, you will need exactly 15.14 grams of copper sulfate pentahydrate which is 1.024 grams of elemental copper per liter of water and thus 3.88 grams of elemental copper per gallon
1.024 grams elemental copper per 1000 ml RO water equals .1% soluble copper.

The amount of potassium nitrate in that stuff is negligible. I don't even know why it is in there. They use roughly 13 grams of potassium nitrate per gallon which does not contribute to the potassium or nitrogen content of your nutrient solution much at all.
So, just throw in 13-14 grams per gallon of potassium nitrate (saltpeter) and you will have roughly .06% nitrogen and .15% potassium
you can get potassium nitrate just about anywhere. you can get it on ebay for about $5 a pound all day long and most of the stuff listed on ebay is refined and high quality....much more pure than what is needed for this recipe.

anyway, to re-cap this recipe for 1 gallon of homemade rootzone DM:
use 15.14 grams of copper sulfate pentahydrate
13 grams of potassium nitrate
and 1 gallon (3785) ml pure RO water

There you have it. 1 gallon of RootZone DM for pennies!

Let me know if you decide to give it a shot, and I'll dig up my usage/dosage rates.

X

sorry to ask a stupid question and yes i dont have a clue what your going on about but it seems easy to make, so what exactly is the root zone used for, is it for solving root rot or something like that,

says the kid sitting at the back of the class room not listening to whats going on,lol

Dutch Master ZONE is used as a res additive to keep things sterile. To me, messing with this and that beneficial trying to make a proper home for microbes, even good, beneficial ones is inviting disaster. So, ZONE is used to effectively STERILIZE the entire hydro delivery system, and keep it that way. Do away with all the frikkin worry, strife, and problems of trying to keep this bacterium, but not that one. KILL'EM ALL, and let the plant do its thing.

Thanks M !!
This grow was from tent #1
The reason we have so many different strains going is we want to see which grow well and keep us supplied well. Some plants grow better then others dontcha know ;)

I really enjoyed the trimming. Took 4 of us 6 hours but we also took lots of breaks.

I think the changes I'm making are positive ones !

Woohoo! Congrats on a great harvest!

NICE JOB!!!

Hey Xlr8 :thanks:

Yeah, I have over a lot of hurdles and through a lot of battles. Learned a lot in a very short amount of time but as you know......I had to.
If it weren't for the help of many members here I'd of never been able to finish this grow. Now my grows are getting bigger and stronger..........all from the help of the people here.

With all I have to worry about I think the DM Zone will make me sleep a little better at night. I only worry about my p,ants not growing as well. I would assume better and bigger root systems will get you bigger plants.

Thanks for the reps my friend !! :circle-of-love:
