Alafornia's 1st Time Multistrain Medical Grow

Thanks, @SQl2kGuy . BB and OS look good today. Pics are coming in a bit. Can't move with this lap dog on me. :D

NL is going tonight. I hope it makes the others jealous and they kick into a higher gear - you know how competitive middle school girls can be. :D

These will eventually see 10 gal smart fabric grow bags, but patience is required to get that rootball.

Roots. Wife took these so not sure who is who other than Westley has the least and she’s staying put.

Westley was not up-potted. I did spray just enough to dampen the top of the soil as the bottom has not dried yet. Everyone else...

I did hold back just a bit on the water for them but still good and saturated. They were pretty dry.

Also raised the lights since they are sitting higher.

I think I need a bath now. Haha!

A few tidbits:

The ac was sucking the sides in so badly because the fan was on high. I turned it to low and the problem was not as bad.

Also turned the exhaust fan down just a bit more.

Forgot to put mycorrhiza in OGK CBD's pot, dammit. I did remember to label them all this time beforehand and doube check during transplant.

It turns out that I was in there past supposed lights out and the lights were still on. A simple flip of the correct switch corrected this issue. Doh! Now on 18/6 schedule for realz.

Ordering an intake fan, safer soap, and BT (just in case?) this weekend. What would be the best cal-mag supplement for soil since this is a common problem?

Going to have to rearrange the humidifier. Should have known not to put it in the back. I may switch places with the fan at the front.

I'll be glad when I get some experience with this so I know better what to do and when. Patience.

Looking good Alafornia! Still root'n for Westley, go girl go. Looking good.

Thanks, Oops. Westley is strong now. Just needs a little more time to grow. She is a good one.

Nice setup. I almost died laughing when you said temp were in the 80's man thats like sunny San Diego weather. Where I am the temps range from around 92F to 113F hot as hell out here. Hope all goes well man you got alot on your hands.

Thanks, BR. It's warming up into the 90's here in a day or two. Gonna be dry as hell. Back home the humidity has the heat index at about 109 with real highs in the upper 90's. This is much milder than I've been used to in July. August is coming, though, and it can get to 105-110 at times. Thank goodness the nights are cooler.

Hey Al! Nice job on the transplant, looks like it went smoothly! :high-five:
I personally would of waited another week or so as there was loads of space for your roots still to take over. I like a strong root ball before transplanting to make things easier - there is less change of roots ripping, less soil messing everywhere, and i find if the roots are slightly bound - once they get planted and the new roots take to the new soil there is a serious explosion in growth once the roots realize there's new space for growth.
I don't think Emy was wrong with the suggestion to transplant, but i do think a watering would of fixed up the drooping and that it was not completely root bound, you would of still got good plant growth over the next week.

Here's a quick example of a transplant i did recently, some would say it should of gone a week earlier, but the roots are well healthy and the plant was still growing at a good pace:

Looks great @alafornic. The girls gonna boom with that new pots. Loving the root porn.

I have some extra poles put in my tent to keep it from sucking in the side. I think you should be able to scratch some mycorrhiza into the top of the soil and water it down into the pot.

Thanks, Itibitiguy. Just gonna watch for now.

Just getting up here on the east coast. Great pictures to wake up to. Westley is going to get tired of look up to her tent sisters and blast up before you know it

Good morning, Newfun. I hope you're right.

Same here brother

You're welcome anytime.

All looking great Al.

Thanks, JW.

Looking great Al. Just enjoy the ride bro. You are doing a fantastic job for the first time with all the right equipment, genetics, and people around with crazy amount of knowledge here on 420.
Really respect what you doing for the family. Keep up the great work my friend :thumb:

Thanks, Sparkey. I am so glad to have some experienced guides around to help. I'm gaining valuable experience. Pretty soon I'll be less reliant on others and able to help the newer folks more. This community is top notch. I am so glad to have found it. Everyone here @420 should be proud of what they've built.

Gonna go out and look at everyone soon.

Hey Alafornia, What is the largest size pot to plan to use? Are 10 necessary or can the do well in 5 gal?

I’ve read anything from 5 to 10 for indoor but the consensus for soil seems to be 7-10 gal.

I went ahead and made a few changes to the tent. Swapped the fan and humidifier and added another small fan above the humidifier to take that air back across the tent away from the exhaust.

I also put the rest of the casters together and put the plants on them. Westley was way down her so I placed her on top of a 5 gal pot I had already cleaned. It will eventually be her pot. She’s closer to the light now and I am of the belief that is good.

Thinking today about what it means to be a father. Thanks for all the kind words about that. I’m far from perfect. I try. I just hope he knows how much I love him and that makes him feel good. That made me miss my dad and have a bit of an emotional moment. He always said I’d appreciate him when he was gone. As I aged I did that more but nothing like I do now that he’s gone. Nobody would mistake him for a scholar but he was a smart man. I hope I can teach mine as well as he taught me. I’m in a country music mood this morning. Memory lane is scenic, for sure.

One more group pic before I leave them for a while.

Found the other labels. Haha
