Alafornia's 1st Time Multistrain Medical Grow

The grow weed tutorial is good but I like to keep people at the magazine. Check out Shed's official tutorial here on LST. You won't go wrong and you'll get hands on help here.

This ^ . :thanks:

Great news! I just want to let anyone interested in knowing to know that Medical Marijuana Genetics lives. Not only do they live but they are producing at least one new strain (Master Hemp #2 - currently listed but out of stock at Seedsman). The word is they would be in stock (presumably soon). I am most happy to share this news. I hear there is an announcement from the company coming this week (sorry, but I have no details).

@InTheShed , @Heavenly Hybrid , @Amy Gardner , @Emilya , @Nunyabiz , @DonkeyDick , @carcass , @Van Stank , @Chris Scorpio , @John Wick

I apologize for leaving anyone out or "calling" anyone who'd rather be left alone. Hope you are all having a good great day.
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing it :) and sorry i havent been around much. Been a bit overwhelmed in life so dipping in and out a bit at the mag and catching up sporadically at times.

Your buds are looking excellent :thumb:

You asked a while back there about the calcium in your soil and wanted input about corretcing the soil. I’m sorry you;re battling the issue.
You mentioning it was ‘ringing bells’ for me and took me back about 130pages here where we talked about the calcium sources in your soil... Now, I don’t know what you’ve done or not done to the soil since, or even if it’s the same soil now, but...

They all look great Al! :thumb: It’ll be a good idea to be pre-empting possible Calcium demand, especially going into flower, when the demand for calcium will escalate, as I don’t see a huge amount of Ca in that soil mix, and I’ve seen that recipe analysed similarly in the past. Things certainly look great at the moment tho!
don’t mean to spam your thread... i went back and looking at the soil mix it might be a good idea to have some ca supplement on hand. The cal-phos from eggshells might be the best bet. There’s plenty of mg in your mix I think, and ca will come from the rock phosphate and the lime, but there’s no carbonated calcium source and that’s the good stuff.

I honestly don’t claim to be any sort of expert but I’ve read obsessively about this and experimented w my own soil a bit and have recently been studying some very successful recipes and I think the only way to correct your soil would be to re-amend with limestone powder (CaC03, not dolomite) and recook. I think you really need the ca cooked in there. Or to build a new mix with more carbonated calcium sources.

In the meantime, if you want to avoid commercial cal/mag, you can get them calcium with seaweed fertilisers or the DIY cal supplement made from eggshells. If there’s too much Mg it will be locking out Ca. If you can get stinging nettle a tea Made from it it is a great balanced fertiliser.

If it were me I’d be giving a stinging nettle or seaweed fert and seeing if that gets things closer to range, and I’d be planning on reamending the soil.

I may be wrong and you may get results with top dressing dry amendments etc. but my expectation would be that this would take time to get into the soil. Maybe Van and bobrown might have some input for you if you drop in to their threads and ask :thumb:

Hey fornia, hope all is well up there and the fires aren't too close to you.
:Namaste:
Oh gosh - I’ve been under a bushel and only just seen news of this. I too hope they are not close to you. My heart goes out to anyone anywhere near any of it. Even just dealing w the smoke great distances from the fires is just awful.

Sending many good vibes :Namaste:

Good morning, Shed. No fires too close - just lots and lots of smoke.

Thanks, Amy. I'm going to look for some limestone powder now. I've added more perlite and have some more to add along with some rice hulls (supposedly high in silica). I'm waiting on some biochar to add to the mix as well.

"Just" smoke here, but lots of it. It's so thick it's kept temps down 5-10 F from where they were otherwise predicted to be. I guess life is a series of tradeoffs.

I hope all of you are doing well. We're hangin' in like a rusty nail.

Flower tent, OG Kush CBD, Blueberry 1.2, and Blueberry 1.1.

Some of those are starting to look close, the Blueberries in particular! Big Bud is starting to stack nicely too.

I do feel a bit bad for your BB clone though...it seems so little!

Stay safe up there.

Thanks, Shed. We will (stay safe). You do the same.

She is a wee lass, no?

The flowers are starting to weigh down the branches. We're about 6 weeks into 12/12 or about 5 into flower, IIRC, so likely 2-3 weeks left. Anything I get out of OGKCBD and the BB's is a win this go around.

When I pull those I'll move the three in the veg tent and plant some seeds again. It seems I'm beginning to get a feel for how to time things. I figure I can be on an 8-10 week cycle when planting new seeds. I am excited for this upcoming cycle.

New focus?

I actually misspoke: next to last since I have three I'm moving over to flower soon.

I just opened up a new journal featuring @Weedseedsexpress Harlequin and WWxNL. Once that grow is finished I'll decide from there.

Plus I'm no longer a first timer. :)
