Alafornia's 1st Time Multistrain Medical Grow

I didn't realize there were problems there. That is unfortunate. I do hope other seed banks will have stock soon, but have no word on that.

Just been looking now. No joy from the first few off the bottom of the sponsor list. I’ll keep my eyes peeled and let you know.
Glad to know the MMG crew made it this far through the pandemic anyway. No doubt we’ll see more of them.

Great news! I just want to let anyone interested in knowing to know that Medical Marijuana Genetics lives. Not only do they live but they are producing at least one new strain (Master Hemp #2 - currently listed but out of stock at Seedsman). The word is they would be in stock (presumably soon). I am most happy to share this news. I hear there is an announcement from the company coming this week (sorry, but I have no details).

@InTheShed , @Heavenly Hybrid , @Amy Gardner , @Emilya , @Nunyabiz , @DonkeyDick , @carcass , @SweetSue , @Van Stank , @Chris Scorpio , @John Wick

I apologize for leaving anyone out or "calling" anyone who'd rather be left alone. Hope you are all having a good great day.

Unfortunately, Seedsman are no longer a sponsor, however we have plenty more and 4 new seedbank sponsors Teddy will reveal shortly. :thanks:

That is unfortunate.

P.S. Sorry for the mistake.

Flower girls are looking great fornia! How do you know what's PM and what's milk in there?

Thanks! Seemed like they fell off the edge of the earth for a while.
If MMG need to restock their Candida any number of us will have produced S1 seeds soon.
My go-to person for CS reversal did not have any luck with Candida, and so far my attempt with gibberellic acid (GA3) isn't going too well either. I don't know of anyone who has tried STS yet, but I haven't given up hope on the GA3 yet.

It seems the milk is old enough now that it has a flakey look to it. I'm trying to keep an eye out but haven't seen any more PM since the 1:1 milk/water spray. Since it seems for some reason my soil is lacking cal-mag I've begun using it the last two waterings in hopes that the plants will be healthier and more resistant to PM and other maladies.

I had resisted using cal-mag up to now. My plan is to try to fix it when I next amend the soil. The plan is to add a little bit of rice hulls for the silica along with more perlite for better drainage and biochar (which will itself be amended to be charged with minerals - hopefully I get it right) and, finally, epsom salt and bone meal to add some cal-mag (unless someone has a better idea for adding it).

I'm making some low dose oil capsules (5/3 mg THC:CBD) today for someone I know to help with pain and anxiety from cancer. It's a mix of about 8 strains, about 0.5 g each with 2 g of MH1 to add some balance. I'm using 25% coconut oil and 75% EVOO. The goal is to have the onset quick enough but also long lasting.

I'm hoping the MH1 will do well with the CS since I still don't see it anywhere. Interesting that MH2 appears to lean indica while MH1 is a sativa leaner. I hope to have some of the new one to grow soon enough, but I'll have to find a spot for it first with everything else I have in the plans. More on that later.

I’ve talked enough. Now for some photos:

Ever thought about LST and or SCROG?
You would triple your yield.

I used topping and super cropping on all but Big Bud, which I intentionally left to get (hopefully) one big bud as an experiment of sorts.

What sort of yield would you expect, on average, from a different method? I'm all ears on learning new tricks, especially if yield is increased.

I will note it was a small "miracle" to get these into flower as I had to overcome PM and root rot so any yield will be good, considering. That's why OGK CBD looks so bare.

My first Blueberry on my first ever grow came in at 51.6 grams.

OG Kush CBD on that same grow was 54.6 g. Total for that grow (seven plants) was 620 g.

On the second grow Big Bud came in at 54.0 g and OGK CBD at 49.8 g. Total second grow 449.5 g. Lost four plants to PM so finished with eight plants on that one.

There have been a few outliers, for better and worse. Wedding Cake produced 76.4 g and a few were in the low 40's g.

Just trying to paint a full picture for you. I'm in super soil and in normal times 630 w CMH (limited to 490 w currently due to limited amps, but I'm going to try to ramp that up a bit since I was able to reduce wattage elsewhere on that circuit).

I'd say easily 3x what you have been getting is very doable.
Looks like your average per plant and I assume that's dried and cured weights is a little over 2oz.
You should easily get 8oz average IMO.

Think of it this way.
Take a look at the bottom say 12 to 18" of any of your plants in these pics.
There's zero there that will produce even a gram of bud and that plant took weeks to grow all that so several weeks of totally wasted energy by the plant.

Now look at my current plant I am growing here.
Notice the nodes literally start at ground level and every 1/2" to 1" is two more nodes and all of those nodes have been growing and producing a thick ass branch to support at least one thick ass bud, very little wasted energy.
It all goes into producing bud.

Impressive. What is your method, Nunyabiz?

I simply bend them over as soon as I can which is usually about end of week 2.

Then spread out branches as they grow, then put a SCROG over it once it gets big enough.

I know it sounds pretty simple but probably isn't. Do you have a tutorial to point to for reference? I love efficiency but would want to do it right. (who wouldn't? :D ) It helps me if I see it, if that makes sense.

Will see what I can dig up.
I am basically the same way, if I can see it done then I can do it.

Here are a few pics on what I do.
It really is just as simple as bending it over while its young and supple and just keep it bent over as it grows.

I'll try to find an actual tutorial that shows it better than my old pics

Almost immediately the lower branches start to grow out and up.

I just weighted these down with wrenches, you can use pipe cleaners attached to the pot or any number of ways to hold the branches down.

Here is a basic tutorial.
while you can top the plant and then LST , I've personally seen no reason to.

Do you do what I did with my White Russian (Nikita) below (but start earlier) ? It was my first grow so I decided to experiment a little but got started late. I bent it over and turned it around the pot/bag in a bit of a spiral/circle. That one alone gave me 154.8 g so it was actually the real outlier.

I think I’m done for this night.

Here's the link to the jarring and final weight for that plant.
