AKGramma's Perpetual Grow

I have a MUTE! 2 days old: AK47 x DP.

:Namaste:
Forgive me for cutting and pasting this.
I just love all of the mutants growing on this wondrous site.

Whorled phyllotaxy

Whorled phyllotaxy is a relatively common cannabis mutation, and causes three leaves to grow from each node rather than the usual two.
Along with the extra leaf, an extra branch is also generated at each node, meaning that plants with whorled phyllotaxy often grow extra bushy!

Which is information I found on one of the sites very own sponsor pages.

Evening AK :-)

Mmmmmmmmmm, I bet she has a awesome Oder AK!! Lol not sure why I’m such a Carmel freak but a nice soft Carmel is gold!!
Please get a few more pics of her :adore: and a cap or smoke report :-) I know pushy huh  Love ya AK :-)

Blessed Buds our friend and be well :passitleft:

I'll be sure and take her pics before and after the cut on Sunday. Will have to be a cap and powder test, since I don't smoke. :-)

Yes, I had one in a previous grow. Can't remember the strain though. That one was really fluffy. Eventually the third branch got pinched out by the other two.

Looked in on The Little Auto Who Could and found that all her pistils had shriveled up, and she was covered with sticky and trics! I think she is done!

So, as promised, here are her pics before the chop:

Full profile before trim. 7.5" tall.

After trimming off the rest of the small fans and the largest of the sugar leaves. Those will be dried for some GOOD herb!

After a good spraying down, I see that the bottom few buds still have white pistils. Should I let her go till Sunday (10 weeks) or cut the plant above those last few buds and let them catch up?

I have wondered often if staging the harvest would boost the lower level buds. Hope you try it :thumb:

I don't know if it will make much difference in this case - they look pretty similar and she is short. Fun to try anyway.

My cat ate one of my baby AK47xDPs! GRRRRRRR! Now I only have 4 for a breeding project! I moved the rest higher in the unit. I also set a squirt bottle at the entrance. He is conditioned to flinch and run when he sees that, as I often spritz him when he's being a bad boy!

The rest have already hit the bottom of the solo cups, so I'll need to up-pot them soon.

:sorry::rip: I also have trust issues with my cats.
Well, my female cat. My fat boy guards my babies from her.

Was it the tri leaf one?

No, it wasn't Trip, thank goodness! The last triple mutes I had were males, so I am very protective of it.

I gave the Cream Caramel one more night under a CFL right on the slower buds, and today, their pistils were amber enough to cut the whole plant. Her stem was as thick as a pencil, in spite of her being only 7.5 inches tall. She is hanging upside down next to the PC, where I can watch her progress.

Her buds were so full I thought she was full of seeds! But they were properly soft when poked.

I now turn my attention to the rest of the crop!

The tri-leafed mute now has a name: "Trip". I planted it in the 3 gallon bin just vacated by Caramel Cream. The bin got a full feeding on Sunday, and I sprinkled some MYKOS in the hole to stimulate more roots (not that it needed it.)

Trip is the most vigorous of the four remaining AK47xDPs, and the roots were already at the bottom of the solo cup.

Even tho Sue labelled the bean as a possible female, I'm betting it is a male. All of my tri-leafed mutes were males. Would be super nice, however if this one IS female, as I'll get a lot more at harvest.

Nice little bud though..... Looks tasty... Keepem Green

You are speaking about the Cream Caramel Auto I just cut. Her terpenes are very much different than anything I have ever grown. Very subtle.

She is a 3-way cross of Indicas bred in Spain and is a 90:10 Indica to Sativa blend. From the site:

This synthetic strain is the result of a three way cross between our best Indicas: Blue Black x Maple Leaf Indica x White Rhino.
This classic strain features a sweet intense taste that is reminiscent of caramel, combined with a hint of earthy flavors inherited from the Blue genetic that intervenes in the cross. This strain is ideal for indoor growing.

This strain is the favorite of medicinal cannabis users. Relaxing and antidepressant.

Data Sheet
Variety SWS04
Indica/ Sativa: 90%/10%
THC: 15-20% · CBD: 1,6%
Indoor Yield: 400-550 g/m2
Outdoor Yield: 350-600 g/plant
Indoor Blooming: 8-9 weeks
Outdoor Harvest: late September to early October

Another site says that although the scent is sweet and fruity, it's effect is potent, and one should plan to stay indoors after smoking it.

A Peek at Cream Caramel drying in a small box. It really is dark in there without the flash. Now to find a semi-cool place to put the box that the cat cannot get to....

BTW, the box is standing on end, so the CC is actually hanging free.

This is my first Indica grow, and I am embarking on a new adventure. My first 10 seeds were Sativa-heavy OG Kush, and I planted those in March of 2015. I am still running a perpetual grow from the clones from the first Ladies.
I acquired 10 Bubbelicious seeds from one of our sponsors, which arrived in 17 days, with 10 bonus mystery seeds. But I don't have the room or the stamina to grow that many at once. So, I'll pop one BBL at a time, till I arrange for more space and make sure I can sustain a new grow in the dead of a Far North winter.

When I clone or plant seeds, I put them under my light at my computer, so I can keep a continual eye on humidity and mold issues. Because I'm currently nursing both a seedling and a set of Sativa clones taken on Dec 1st, I will mention the progress on the clones when anything of note occurs. I'm finding the cloning process difficult during the very short days of a Northern winter. They seem to know what is happening outdoors, in spite of the artificial light. We are down to about 5 hours 15 minutes of daylight now.

Soil is Black Gold potting soil mixed with equal amounts of vermiculite and sand and the light is a 100 Watt output (23 actual draw) daylight CFL, the same light I use for my workspace. Temperature under the light is 75 deg F/36 deg C.

CHOOSING A SEED
I want to test the theory that seeds with indented "bellybuttons" are female. So I picked out a seed whose blunt end was indented like a volcano. I also gave it a deep cup so the taproot will not be restricted, which is said to encourage the plant to become female. Lower temps and minimum stress through the 4th week of veg are also said to encourage females. So I'll test all these theories on this and future BBL plants. I will have 10 BBLs plus 10 mystery seeds to test the theory over the next year or two.

How did the female seed expirment work out i have found good success

I sort of lost track since then. However, Sweet Sue still follows that principle. I cannot say for sure whether or not it was true for me, but this time, I have marked the female symbol onthe labels of those seeds that Sue said the thought were female. So I will pay attention this time. :;):

The post you quoted is very old, so maybe I DID track that seed in this journal. I DO remember that my prettiest, most full plants turned out to be male.
