Ak-47 - LED - DWC

Had some visitors yesterday so it was a good time to test out the carbon filter.

Since I have more air being exhausted than I do intake my tent is at a constant negative pressure. Not one person noticed a scent at all.

These things really work. Before I had the filter in place my entire backyard was smelly just from the exhaust of the one plant.

I also found someone to do the jar cure for me if need be and explained the prices of burping the jars so the buds dry evenly.

As I'm nearing harvest everything is slowly falling into place. As long as this keeps up I cannot fail.

Cruising towards the finish line. Took off a few fan leaves that had yellowed, signifying that is getting close to the end.

Can't wait

frosty - ill grab a jacket!

Well I got antsy and read a lot of different opinions on nanners and decided to pluck them out.

Then I decided to check my ph and ppm

Seems like she's only been drinking water my ppm has sky rocketed. 500 ppm higher in 24 hours.

Time to give her only water you think?

I'm probably going to be doing that tonight unless someone advises otherwise.

Thanks a lot everyone

Well gave her some pretty cold water yesterday. V could just be my imagination but she seems to have covered herself with more trichomes. I'm guessing another 2 or 3 days before I chop her down.

Big question is do I give her the mythical 36 hours of dark before I snip or just cut at the end of her regular 6 hour dark cycle.

I'm thinking since her dark cycle has been so short her whole life she may be able to benefit from the extra dark?

I've got a couple days to decide so I hope my 3 nanners didn't scare everyone off

Uhoh dreaded nanners! shouldnt be an issue this late on surely, ive had a few in the past at much earlier stages of flowering and it never became a problem. Also i think your right a bout feeding just water now, i plan to give just water for the last 2 weeks/flushing period, but then i have no kind of flushing agent.

Good question about the dark period though, ive not found anything conclusive on whether it works or not but after finding allot of people do it i know ill be doing it for maybe 48hours personally. Never know :)

Bet your getting excited now aint ya?

I feel like I've been excited at every step. I was even excited for the nanners because in a different situation without these time complications that would mean I could get a few seeds along with some buds if I pollinate a few buds with the nanners and let them ripen.

It's what I plan to do with colloidal silver in the future anyway just naturally.

But yes I'm very excited to see the fruits of my labor. I probably won't get a wet weight but I'll try to weigh it dry before I dig in. I brought in a 'chronnoseur' and he had a look at the plant and said he needs to set me up with a real grow room because this plant looks so healthy and frosty for my first grow it's a real gem.

and is mostly due to my bud-dees here at 420mag. Whether you know it or not I read many journals and don't often reply but the knowledge I've gained is priceless. Thank you all

I wouldn't worry about a big dark period. I've tried straight cutting and 48 hours of darkness, and neither seems different in smoke or quality. Nanners don't scare us off, so don't worry. Excited to see this end, and hopefully another starts right after.

I use the dark period to force the plant to use up the rest of the nutrients stored. If a plant won't finish, it'll get a fresh watering and then stick in a dark room around 75F with 20% humidity to help dry the pot out. It in some cases makes plants a little frostier in the sense that the trichomes do get longer. Not grow more trichomes.

It's all good with the nanners since you caught them in time! In 2 weeks the plant could stop bud growth to the effected areas and start forming little premature seed pods. They would be significantly smaller than a seed but still pop when you smoke em. Nothin too bad ya know? I'm very proud of you man, this AK-47 is way better than any AK I've ever grown. If I ever come across seeds of it, I'm coming to you for the low down.

Much love and respect.
Sphnx

Thanks for some more invaluable info buds.

Here's a couple pics in normal lighting conditions. She's looking real swell.

Even with only 23 ppm water my leaves are mostly retaining their lovely green but I'll watch as the yellowing progresses from the large fans to elsewhere on the plant. I think I may be doing more than the 3 day flush I had planned I may just continue flushing until I lose all my big fans depending how things seem to be going

Thanks for the positive vibes for me and Akela.

Been crunching numbers just for fun.

This plant will be nearly 3 months old at harvest. In 3 months I'm likely to smoke 1.5oz or 42 gr of decent quality stuff at a cost of 360 dollars.

If this single plant produces 42 grams it could cover me for the 3 months of another plant.

Now I'm not your average smoker I weigh everything I smoke and have developed a sort of chronservation technique to minimize my intake amount while still getting the benefits and medicating up to 3 times daily. May seem odd and OCD but that's just how I roll.

More numbers. 3 months electricity cost for 11 bucks a month for one of my lights at 100w. 33 dollars. After initial investment in nutes, two led panels and my tent and fans I'm probably at around 500. So 533 for my first grow I'd need to acheive over 60 grams which is maybe a bit over zealous.

The fact that I have enough nutes to probably do 5 more grows at 33 each I'm sure I'll come up ahead and would have this time if I didn't splurge and get the Platinum p150 but it's the most beautiful thing in my grow room besides the plant and I'm sure is helped me achieve the best quality I can at the moment, and the topled is a great panel for the price as well.

i also have done an extended dark period when i'm about to harvest, and have not given notice of any bennefits from it, just chop them down BEFORE lights go ON, because in the dark plant transports all salts and nutes to the roots (that's the time to chop for extra clean buds) and when lights go ON the plant moves salts and nutes up to the plant again.
