African Sun And Indoor Gardening: Pushing My Own Boundaries

A little update
All my seedlings are doing well and soon I will run out of space
20200809_131434.jpg
I am trying to give myself some more flowering time by increasing the hours of light in my grow cupboard. So the timer is now set at 20 hours of light a day .
Hopefully it will fool the plant into thinking that our slowly lengthening days are short enough for the plants to have a full flowering cycle.

Wow.
Moving. ........
Are you renting where you are now or if its your property will you rent out or sell?
I am trying to beat the changing light cycle with the grow room project.
Pretty much a month behind at the moment.
Other news is that I have made contact with a local fellow who has a fairly good range of products related to growing and grow rooms.
Soils, lights, plant fertiliser etc.
Most of what we need and I can probably move some excess earthworm products through him.
Anyhow. .... enjoy your day brother

:snowboating:

Evening boetie I have a 1 bedroom bachelor's flat at the back of my parents property which I rent but it will stay mine as long as I need it luckily...

My dorpie is pretty quiet boetie and ever since my younger brother and family moved back to UK in Sept last year I been lonely here in the hometown as I don't socialise really as it's a drinking crowd mainly and I prefer canna minded folk or those that can handle their drink and be social without being a nuisance... haha

I'm going to be purchasing a 3m by 6m log cabin Wendy which is going to be erected once I've got settled as I'm taking my 3 dogs with me in this move and my cat to follow a bit later hopefully...

Sadly I have to sell/gift all the stuff I have going on as there's nobody who can take care of it when I leave but thankfully/fortunately I'm walking into an even larger garden than my own which has plants in all stages of life so I shan't be a skipping a beat really but I will be taking clones of my favorites with me, my tents n lights are staying with me but the plants are going to new homes...

See ya have some nice flower hanging hey, my HulkBerrys came down on Sunday so I get some fresh smoke which I'm thankful for as I had to purchase from a vendor last week to tide me over....

Hope ya having a blessed evening boetie and the gardens looking beautiful...

I'm alive! !!
This Covid 19 has locked our country up a couple of times so far but plants still grow
The Greenhouse has been wacked by heavy wind in our area
Replaced the top but one side is half ripped. So that needs replacing now
Plants are getting hit by wind and some unwanted insects , such as grasshoppers have been getting in
On the positive side we are moving into flowering season
It's been a long grow from the end of last winter
Provided the bugs don't cause to much havoc I should get some good buds out of this mixture of plants
Some pics will follow

Thanks guys and gals
As promised some pics of the plants in the greenhouses. Starting with plants that re-vegged in the new greenhouse

These plants re-vegged at the end of last winter.
Starting at the beginning of October last year

Also in the new greenhouse are clones that got to large for grow cupboard

The two smaller plants were tops I took off plants in the greenhouse and just dusted the stems and put in a pot in the greenhouse
Have seriously run on of space this season

Thanks for popping by friends
So that was the old greenhouse
Now for my extention which is about twice the size and was intended to be for the wife's vegetables
As my grow cupboards got to full the wife consented to put plants in the extension
These re-vegged at the end of last winter

In one of the pics the wind damage to the greenhouse is clear in the background

Today has been all gardening so far.
Firstly repairs to the greenhouse side that had been ripped by heavy wind

Then harvesting earthworm pee
My original farm.
20210225_115905.jpg

And some liquid drained through the small holes in the bottom and into a slightly raised bottom container
20210225_115917.jpg

And my second farm working on the same principle
20210225_115857.jpg

The harvested (pee) is bottled and used mainly in my veg stage watering at a ratio of one part to ten parts water.
Earthworm droppings are harvested to add to the soil, although of late I have found a good mix for my plants at the local nursery.
I will post some pics of this just now.

Our local nursery had this grow mix which I am liking a lot.
20210225_124757.jpg
20210225_124722.jpg

I mix this with potting soil around 60 to 40. 60% grow mix.
It holds moisture well but is quite porous.
Other news.
Popping some seeds with minimal success.
Seed cups on the veranda
20210225_122630.jpg

And popped seeds in the vegging fridge
20210225_122709.jpg

I changed the timer to 12hours in my other cupboard and have these plants with bud sites

The plant in the background was not looking healthy at all and this morning I pulled it out and disposed of it as I noticed male and female buds. A hermie.
And so the cycle of life continues

Hey all you beautiful people
Time to do a weekly update on greenhouse plants
This morning I found three big grasshoppers having fun in the greenhouse
I had to chase them around and finally got them all with a broom handle
Not an easy task I may add due to the lack of space to move around
In the old greenhouse these are some of the plants I was protecting
On the left
Old greenhouse left side.jpg

And on the right
Old greenhouse right side.jpg

Most are budding quite well already
Old greenhouse top of some colas.jpg
Close up cola old greenhouse.jpg
Cola of a clone.jpg

No space left in there but the potential for a good harvest by mid April or so

And in the extension ( my wife's veggie greenhouse )
On the left
Cola's in new greenhouse.jpg

And the right
Running out of height.jpg
some Colas and close up pics
Cola's from top.jpg

I am slowly bending the tallest plant over as it's touching my greenhouse top plastic
Then I will have to support the main cola

Getting ready to replace the harvested plants around mid April
Seedlings starting out
White Widow, Cheese Kush and two unknown

One or two will get the nod to gain entry into the flowering cupboard
The plants in bud in the cupboard at present

Hope you enjoy
