African Sun And Indoor Gardening: Pushing My Own Boundaries

Grow cupboard continued:
One must consider what you intend to use as far as lights and Airflow.
I am not concerned with stealth so at this stage the wife and I enjoy the smell of our plants through the house. so air filtration is not a big concern for us.
This is a low budget DIY cupboard.
On Thursday we visited China Town. I picked up Blue, red and white LED strip lights.
These will be mounted on a lattice that can be moved down or up, between cleats mounted on the side of the cupboard.

And screwed onto the side of the cupboard. I have allowed about 30cm ( around 1ft ) at the bottom for seedling growth.

The lattice with the lights can be moved up 10cm ( plus minus 3 inches ) at a time.

I will do the rest tomorrow and hope to be able to get the lights working for a brightness test and the little fan I picked up working. So far the lights and the Fan have cost me around R750.00. More or less $50.

Thanks Smeegs. I think the auto's are going to be first in this cupboard.
I am starting my day with re-potting The broad leaf number One. Then onto the lighting for cupboard. A fair amount of wiring to do as each strip has it's own wires and all the strips must go through a tranformer. I must also allow enough for the movement of the light from top to bottom. I like a challenge. I have an inadequate fan for now but will upgrade soon.
 
I can't wait to see what the cupboard looks like once done, my 1 auto is almost done few more days on the trichs and she should be there.. Mother natures still playing her games but the sun is out today so hopefully that bodes well for an update today as been preoccupied with mites and the never ending battler against them indoors..... Se ya bit later...

Hi Smeegs. I hate that battle. I ended up dumping half my plants on the other farm because of those mites.
I was hoping to get finished today with the cupboard but one set of wires came loose from a strip and I do not have a soldering iron. will have to pick one up tomorrow. Here's what I've done so far on the light trellis.

That's as far as I can get today until I get a soldering Iron and some more correct guage cable.

The little things that can sometimes top me in mid-flight.
I will continue tomorrow.
My wife is busy making us some munchies. ( food ) and then we will relax and watch a movie.
Have to get to a clinic in the morning and pick up a soldering iron so i can get finished with the cupboard.
The wife wants it next to her bed. or I should say we don't have space so it has to go there.....

Lekker garden boet. Ek smaak dit. Cupboard looks rad too. Love this time of season outside. Haha everytime I'm driving around I'm looking to see who has plants growing over the wall hehe. Surprised at how many I've seen. Can pic up the scents of dope often.
 
Just finished setting up the lights. What a mission but I can move on to installing the fan and finishing off now.

Today was a sad day for my greenhouse. I had to get rid of Blueberry number Three due to manhood. ( and I thought it was my best plant. Took clones as well. ) He had to go.
Thank you for all the interest in the veg cupboard. I am still short of one or two things to finish but got some work done today.

Just a couple of things left to do. I need a multi-plug for inside the cupboard, with a cord and plug to go out the back.
Finish the front panel and buy a timer for the lights.
Plastic sheeting for the floor and then I think I can start some plants.
Possibly by the weekend I will be done as I have cupboards and quotations for clients to get done this week as well.

Ja. I sometimes smell the flower smell and want to go look over a hedge. Just to see what the plants look like. Won't ring the doorbell and start a conversation about the pro's of cannabis usage though. Mmmmmmm
I hope I can get the rest of goodies for indoor gardening this weekend. ( cupboard )
This is what I had to do today though.... Puts food on the table and pays the rent until other things bring in the moola.

Got home from work, poured myself a drink, went to have a squizz at the greenhouse and decided it's time to give an update on the plants. I have not done so for a while. Pretty tired after work so i will do my best.

I'm happy except for number Three who turned out to be a boy and is no longer with us,
 
I didn't forget The Bhudda cheese which has been in flower for ever. ( about 7 weeks now me thinks )
