Afgoo - First Time Seed Grow

Hey Aston,

The question isn't whether you should start a new journal, it is whether I should start one and stop polluting yours...haha I thought about that though and decided it was more fun to come in here and pollute yours. So with that said I think I will go take some more pictures today and present them to you. My little sole survivor clone is looking tiny and weak still. But like you said, it wouldn't be a total loss if she didn't make it. I now know what not to do... haha.

Well man, today is a bit cooler so my painting project will be a little more comfortable.
You're right though, last night I waited till after 7pm to finish up...:).

Today is also my 15 day feeding rotation. I am going to go feed my ladies.
Will be back later with a couple pictures..

Oh, and as for flowering. Your first Afgan #1 will flower at 12/12 and 12 seconds.
The second one will flower at 12/12 and 24 seconds. <Just kidding man!> Boy! you are like a scientist.. haha Let mother nature take its course.. Like your other buddy said, it should happen slowly up and around the change. I'll let you know though since mine will flower first.. :)

Aston,

Here is todays updates...
This is the sole survivor. It is her first day in full sun. She looks like she might make it.

whats good Cmitch,
as far as i have seen, as long as they get at least 5 hours of direct sunlight you'll be fine, i get about 7 hours of direct sunlight on them, 8.5 if i move them to get it all day. In the morning i get up and set the plants to get the earliest light they can receive, and then as the day goes on and the sun gets lower, i move them back over to their dark spot, and they recieve the rest of the sunlight that they can get!!! glad to know your still with us!!! feel free to ask any questions, i get back to all as quick as internetingly posible lol!!! you gonna start a journal for your lady???

:peacetwo:

Thanks for the info..as far as a journal goes im not going to do one with this one because its only 1 plant at the moment as a test run as im still learning alot...I feel like my plant has been outside way to long and way to small in comparison to others plants so im not even sure if this one will make it to harvest...just moved it into a new spot where it should be getting a good amount of sun so I hope to see a grow take off soon will be checking in
Cmitch

lol whats good man,
Im glad you made use of that and didnt just keep it to yourself!!! thats great that you shared the word!!! so yea i will be watching you flower before me, but i will have smoke longer that you!!! ha!!! i knew i would win on that somewhere!!! LOL, you go have fun with that painting man, cant be fun in this heat!!! but then again i noticed that you posted at 7 so your a smart man, wait til it cools down!!! careful with that clone!!! its not a total failure if it doesnt make it though!!! look at the bright side, you found ways that dont work!!! just dont do what you did!!! well i hope it stays up!!! keep the strain going!!!

@ everybody else,
ok so i noticed that in my update that i didnt type in the heights, i forgot to type in the digits!!! lol anyways, as they stand now, afgoo 1, soil to top, 14 1/2 inches, and on Afgoo 2, soil to top 10 1/4 inches!!! theyre just getting so big!!! now also, something that i kept from everybody, after doing some research, i decided to go ahead and plant another seed!!! except, its not afgoo, it is 1 of my 4 GDP seeds, I set it into germination on the 4th of july, and the next day it was cracked!!! so i set it in soil, on the 6th i checked on it and you could see that there was a purple stem coming out of the soil, so i put it outside, just like mother nature first did the first cannabis plant!!! none of that start indoors crap!!! i feel that an outdoor plant was the way man found this plant, it cant hurt it to be outside when it starts, i did it with my afgoo's and you see the results!!! so being as how that is my feeling on it, i set out the seed to start seeing light right away!!! now i am still new to the cannabis growing, but it just seems like common sense to me, a little worried about the timing now after seeing the lighting schedule for outside, GDP has to be grown up by September 27th, that is when my light outside goes to 12 hour light!!!... lol anyways, dont know if i want to start another journal, or just start talking about it here!!! i mean its going to be out there with them, so i figure i might as well!!! but i dont know??? do you all want to follow another journal??? or just read about it here??? your decision guys!!! and gals (namingly sqwheels)... now another question, will the plant start flower like at 12 hrs and 30 mins or 12 hrs and 20 mins, or will it only start at 12 hrs??? just a mind boggler on that for me??? i have never seen a plant flower outdoors, so its all new for me, and every journal i see they dont really get full into detail like i am trying to find!!! or at least answer what i am looking for!!!

:peacetwo:

Congrats on the GDP! :thumb:

Nature and the strain will determine when it's time to flower, when it comes to outdoor. Not sure there is an accurate way of telling precisely when they pop. This may be why your having such a hard time finding that exact info. For me I would add it to this journal. That way I won't have to keep up with another one!!! :) I like your journal and you have some great followers. Seems to me that another one will add confusion. Maybe not for anyone else though, :tokin:

Hey Cmitch,

I think you may be missing the most important thing preventing your plant from really taking off. You have to talk to it. :grinjoint:

No, just kidding. Actually, many factors can cause delayed growth. I planted 3 clones and they seemed to take quite awhile before they took off.
As Aston knows, I had one he calls "shorty" that only grew a foot or so before starting flowering. It has now reverted to veg and is growing a bit more. I think with mine the biggest factor of impacted growth was that I planted to early on 4/20. Next year I am planting on 6/1 which is when the weather seems to be much better. Well at least in my zone (Southbay Ca).

This site seems to be a great place for info. If you need any help let us know. I sure learned a lot just on this recent outdoor grow.

not so much as a science for me, i just want to make sure that i know when i have to give her, her flowering nutes!!! sheeesshhh, didnt need the attitude!!! geez what an ass!!! lol juss messing!!! anyways, after reading an article that dekon sent to me, i know now that with the outdoors I am just going to have just keep close eyes on them!!!

Today I fed all my plants a 20-20-20, and am going to do a cleaning by trimming off bottom sucker leaves and weak branches to force more energy to the good and strong.

when i was reading your other post about how you were going to feed them with 20-20-20 i was thinking wow that is way to much then i read how before you only did 10-10-10... that is more better!!!

whats good Cmitch,
IMO, i think you should still do a journal, my WW grow was only the 1 plant, and i got so much help from everybody, 1 plant or 20 plants, its better than none!!! plus everybody can help with your ideas, give you feedback, or totally change your mind all together!!!

Congrats on the GDP! :thumb:

Mac,
yea, like i just told debudman, im just gonna sit like a very good boy, and wait for her to say "hey, heres some flowers for you! i love you daddy!!!" and then i'll say "oh, here you go sweetheart, heres some flowering nutes for you and those flowers!!!" lol.. and no worries, the Afgoo's are outdoor plants, and so is that Afgoo, so it has some catching up to do now to stay here with the big ladies!!! but they will flower together, no matter where she will be!!!

:peacetwo:

when i was reading your other post about how you were going to feed them with 20-20-20 i was thinking wow that is way to much then i read how before you only did 10-10-10... that is more better!!!

I've read that during the veg state some plants can benefit by a full 20-20-20 after building up to it in like 3 stages. Some feed this monthly, where others feed it bi-weekly. It is like a person. What works for one, may not work for another.
The best way to determine your plants nutritional needs is to learn how to read your plants. When you can look at them and determine what nutrients they need then you are doing well. It's like water, you can look at a plant and see when they are drooping a bit showing they are thirsty, or using the finger trick to feel down in the soil 2 inches to feel for humidity. I have also read that while Cannabis can benefit from 20-20-20 that it may not be able to take in all of this at once. My thought is to try it and see how my plants react. I thought I would rather provide more than it needs and have the plant not use the rest then not providing enough. Of course I don't want to over do it either. The ferts you use can also make a difference. Some can be more burn prone then others from what I understand. My choice is water soluable and is bit more forgiving I think. So far, so good I haven't burnt my plants and they are looking nice and green with noticeable growth. I will continue the 20-20-20 until my plant tells me it has had to much then will cut back.

I'm not a pervert or anthing, but I lifted up the skirt of my lady just a little to take a peek. She is the shorty that had flowered early. They say that the flowering starts maturing from the bottom up so that would make sense. The tops are now converted to veg which is wierd. I am riding her out and see what mother nature brings..

Here are some sneek peeks...
She looks almost good enough to smoke :)

UPDATE!!! oh yea buddy!!! is it time for this update!!!

well as we all know that Afgoo 1 is a female!!! thats much is for sure still to this day!!! well today Afgoo 2 has now shown her pistols!!! they are so tiny and cute!!! i have been watching those calyx's for like almost a week starting to develop!!! and today i go out for my morning bowl and i did my daily pest check, and seen them!!! Also, the table that i had the plants sitting on top of was starting to decompress and fall apart, i set Afgoo 1 up on the corner and good thing i didnt let go of it, cus the whole corner snapped!!! so I had a big ass heavy door that was my original front door before the owners replaced it, it is in pieces and i had a long enough piece for the 2 Afgoo's!!! but now as time goes on, i need to figure out what i am going to do with GDP!!! gotta figure it out quick!!! anyways, here is the picture updates now:

new table setup in the corner, after putting the table together and making sure it could support the weight i needed a smoke!!!

and as you can see Afgoo 2 is now in a 5 gallon bucket on a fresh transplant!!! and in a steel cage!!! well chicken wire, but you get the picture!!!

weird thing today!! its 11:00 am here in socal, and it is only 70 degrees, and the RH outside is 45%, what kind of summer is this??? man, but now the overcast has cleared up a bit and the sun has popped out!!! but it still has a chilly breeze out there!!! hope the ladies wont mind!!!

:peacetwo:
