Advice please

Ya havent heard from you. @Mikesem420 originally had a like a mini flood and drain table can fit 16 pots it came with but its shallow so with the mass and length of the roots didnt think it would work. Luckily came across 2 of the airlift drip systems usually around 55-60 each online. They are square 5g buckets with a 2.5g that fits in it. I assume person who had it before didnt know how to use it or tried to make it dwc because he had stones for it. But the pvc pipe that holds the tube that takes the air down and water up couldnt fit another line so i just did away with it all together. But i love it works great. At first was confused like its missing the water pump how the hell does it get water up. Then i was like itd not enough but it feeds n waters perfect. So yes i do use drip ring

If you add that air stone back in it will work wayyyy better the water bubbles up and soakes the hydroton it will absorb the water keeps the perfect amount of air to water your roots will love it you wont need to use the drip ring at all this pic is of the same system all I did was drill a hole so the air line was out of the way all I do is keep the water level right below the second pot and adjust nutes no timers or watering schedules it's worked really good so far I have a feeling that's why the last person did it..

@Mikesem420 the line doesnt pinch when u slide 2nd bucket in? They never drilled the hole, i assume they ran it down the pvc pipe or just ran it then put the medium in it. I have mine on 15 mins or 30 off 15 or something like that. Feed once a week. My roots are outa control, the drip is so slow the roots get air especially with the medium and using air to lift the water, extra with break on the timer. I dunno if oxygen actually disolves in water with the stones, but since not using 2nd bucket i have my fresh water i use with stones. Dunno if it helps. But keeps water from going stagnate. Have you ran them together?

First off thats a steal there like 55 new so good job on that also they are designed to be used as a drip bucket for sure you can plant rockwool cubes right In the first bucket dont need anything. i think hydrofarm makes them but using the air stone can only help that's how dwc works you aerate the water so that the roots can breathe and be underwater all the time. I doubt the little pulse air pump that comes with it is enough to run an air stone but air stone pumps are cheap so just something to think about cant hurt to plug in the one ya have tho see if it bubbles..

Its 2-2.5g of water to the bottom of the first pot 5g is the whole system both buckets I used both systems but at first I used just drip so I drilled the air line hole on the lower side where it cant be pinched and once the roots poked out of the holes in the bottom of the first pot I stopped using the drip ring but I'm not saying using it by itself Is bad either just that the air stones help.

Whats that white stuff your plants are in the last picture you posted? Ya funny thing is i prolly walked past them at the pawn shop 2 or 3 times before ever looking at it , then was going to buy it but didnt know exaxtly what it was cause it wasnt set up so still didnt finally did still didnt know it was drip system. Mine is made by Sunnyvalve.

@Kismet went to the fair yesterday and they had an eletronics stand, led everything but just pieces dodes, connectors everything. They had made a preassembled grow light, was like 12 inches long , supposely full spectrum saw only white and blue thru the tinted lense or plastic w.e they had covering it. They started sunflower seeds on Friday yesterday there were 3 to 4 inches tall, just popped husk still connected. And it did a whole tray which is like 72 but they put them thick so it just looked like grass. Anyways was goin to get it just to start seeds. Think it was only 11 watts. Was only 15 bucks. But they are local i didnt wanna get it and it not work. I only had 1 out 5 beans crack when i did this round. So my question do you use anything special for proporgation? I see the kits with humitiy dome heat mat and those florescent tube bulbs ... Still not good with all the abbreviations for lights. Kits are like 80 bucks, believe i could do my self cheaper. Buy a 24 inch light the, and the dome doubt id need the heater. But what works for you or what do u use?

Ya dude they are big but you cant beat what you get for the price another reason the ac infinty are just awesome so small compared to the ipower did you get a fan speed controller if not your def gona need one it's super powerful at full speed and loud if you turn it down a bit it's still plenty of speed espically for a intake prolly will only need to run it at half speed wayyyy more quiet. I use a humidity dome an heat mat as far a light it didnt really matter I had the hps over a batch at one point it worked ok I used the hlg over a batch worked the best just once they pop up you gotta move a light closer so they dont stretch to much other than that any light works cfl, florescent, led I'd just stay more towards the 4000k range for seedling/veg stages more blue spectrum. I've had about a 90% success rate with rockwool cubes, humidity dome, heat mat, and some clonex cloning gel..

That's actually a rubber piece from a roofing job it just happen to work perfect to cover the rockwool cube so no alge will form. Take the stone an put it in the bottom of your grow bucket you dont need to do that to the fresh water just leaving it out for a day or two will evaporate any chlorine I did the same thing at first now I just leave it out in 1 gal milk jugs a day or 2 before had no problems so far. The idea is that the tube that goes down in the bucket acts like an air stone but it's not strong enough so it's actually both a drip system that aerates the water somewhat but not enough so adding an actual air stone boosts the air ratio in the water.

@Kismet is that sand? @Mikesem420 ya found a kit with fan, can, duct, speed controller, and rachet straps. I have infinity as intake fan lvl 3, and ipower and can as exhaust/filter speeds at like medium low. Temp dropped 4+ degrees, i can fully zip up tent. Sittin at 78 79. But wife has heater on so 4 degrees warmer then room temp i guess isnt bad. I seen on amazon they have cone filters looks like it could go on a car, but its just for air quality, id like to put one on my intake. For better air and bc i got into shower got put went to check temp and heard the sound of like a plastic bag russlin around thought something happened inside. It was a lil plastic back got sucked into t6.

Lol mine sits at the same temp for the most part the room I have the tent in isnt that warm either its a basement so even like now its 66-68 degrees but since I'm running 4 separate lights 1500w cob,150 hps,450w hipergro cob,and the hlg 100 in the tent gets way to hot if I dont keep the ipower on full. I'm trying to do the same thing that was my original plan make it a close loop with filters on intake and exhaust but I went to small with the 4inch fans for my 4x4 originally would been wayy underpowered with filters next grow I'll have the 6inch ac infinty for my exhaust and I power for my intake both filtered.

@Mikesem420 , for air circulation the 4" is still great. I mean do that math, lets say your 4x4x8 is 128 ft squared and your 6 in moves 442 cubic feet per min, as long as it moves it once every 3 mins its fine 1 min is better. Far as cooling dunno much about it i mean you cant blow hot air and expect it to be cold. I have my 6inch pulling from filter inside tent, fan sits outside. Then infinity is outside piped in. By closed circuit u mean just filters on both ends? Or looped ? Looped would def not work just recycling hot air.
