Ace Panama, Groot, In High Brix

I grew a few Dark Devils out 4 years ago or so and most of them were on the smaller low yielding side of things. I had one that produced not even a half ounce. Looked quite a bit like yours honestly. I think it is just the nature of the strain. Finding great ones is hit or miss. Most of them got colorful, some more than others. Everyone that tried it though loved the high.
Hey there Yeti! Thank you fro this info... at least now I know it isn't just mine. I guess I am correct then, with this strain I should probably just use a smaller pot. I have a tall skinny 5 and 7 laying around, I may try one of those next time. My main worry right now is the CD-1, seems I have found her sweet spot when it comes to drench strength and timing cause she is blowing up! Very healthy very vigorous... and she need to go to flower this weekend. So that tent will be packed!
Oh the worry is the CD-1 will crowd the DDA, but now I am not so concerned since it'll probably be a small plant anyway.
Have a good one:passitleft:

I am glad I could be some help. I would love to grow a photo version of the Dark Devil. One of the reasons I had been interested in the Devils carnival. I would just put the CD-1 in the tent and let it do its thing. The DDA is only going to be as good as it will be. :passitleft:

Hey Dajerm, Im jumping in here to absorb as much knowledge as possible and make some friends. :ciao::popcorn:
Well welcome aboard Archi! I don’t update often these days..... kinda went from an Ace Panama journal to an all I have in my garden kinda thing.
Anyway, have fun, nice to have you along and if I can help with anything just ask!

Thanks dajerm! Yeah Im halfway through Darkscotia's apprentice journal w/Doc and that has answered a shit ton of my questions. It feels like the missing link between my brain and the pamphlet that comes with the kit. My biggest challenge will be keeping drenches and dunks separate in my head until it becomes routine. That and Ive never grown cannabis in anything bigger than 5 gallons.
Cheers!

Dunk in 1s, Drench in finish pots ( dunks are twice the amount of product )
both dunks and drenches are basically the same except for amount of product used
and only differ in how its applied.

Yep, Gazoo nailed it! You'll have plenty of help for sure, Please let us all know when you start your HB journal!
When I get some time, I will peruse your newest journal... Sorry wish I could read them all, but my reading, and to-do list is just too long!

No it’s quite understandable man. I’m not going anywhere guys. I’ll be around for a while, I hope hehe.

I wouldn’t spend too much time reading my older ones, they’re atrocious. Let’s just say I’ve learned the hard way. I’m grateful for the journey and I’m so glad to be amongst the people on this forum.

I have a feeling that my current grow will be “ the turning point” in my development as a grower.

Hey gang, hope all are well today. I'm sorry its been so long since my last update... life gets in the way, sometimes you just dont wanna take and load pics etc... This is the whole reason I didn't start a fresh journal, I just want this to be a bit more leisurely. Anyway, lets jump into it!

First up we have the DDA, she has been doing ok, pretty slow IMO but she is still only around 38 days old.
And I put her in a 10gal pot, probably should have gone 7gal or even 5gal. Better wet dry cycles that way.

I really like the color coming on on that DDA. May not amount to much produce in the end, but I would like at least an oz or two to cob up.

Next we have the CD-1, I must say... she gave me some shit after only a month in her 1gal. Took a lot of adjusting to find her sweet spot in veg. And when I finally translated her last Sunday, she was ready to go. Here she is now, 6 days post TP.

Probably one of the prettiest plants I have grown so far.

And last, but certainly not least... The Destroyer. Not the most beautiful, certainly not the most frosty (actually very little frost so far and I am worried a bit) but she is bit and looks like she will have some nice large colas.

Anyone remember that candy striping along the stems when Destroyer was in veg? Well than made an appearance as the stems started to stiffen up. During stretch, they were nice and green. Then as stretch slowed the branches started stiffening up and along came the vertical stripes... pretty cool.

And here is a group shot, well the best I can do anyway.. tight space!

Hey Mr! No worriez about gettin all fancy or regular with your journal stuff.
Do as ya like 119,...your still havin fun ,..your plants are lookin proper. That one in the ten...you did the right thing...wait till she grabs all the soil...be patient. More soil is ALWAYS better . About the Destroyer...if she were mine i would feed her less, and give her as much light as you can...they thrive on it , and the extra light will really help bulk up those nice spears , ya got there. Nice work 119.

That CD-1 is gorgeous!

And what a great job on Destroyer so far. :bravo: Mine is 3 weeks old and looks like it'll be a sativa leaner too. Maybe the one I got back then was an outlier. At any rate, it looks like she'll be able to support four colas - nice stiff stems.

Great run you're having! :Namaste:

Looking great Daj! That DDA looks like it's not gonna produce much but the color is Awesome! Dang that destroyer looks like she is gonna take her sweet time but I have limited experience with sativa. Hope it's not too long!

:passitleft:
Right Ween, I love that color on the DDA. I think Duggs might just be right though, once she does grab hold of more soil I bet shell load up a bit more. Come on baby, give me 2.5oz at least!
Yea, that Destroyer seems slow to me too. But really once I stopped to think about it, checked my notes, and she's only 28 days post pistils. So maybe not moving as slow as I thought, but holy shit is she nice and tall... around 52-54". Tallest plant for me yet and I really love the growth structure smooch more than all that training.
Thanks Ween!

I will be patient Duggs, I think I may have lost of bit somewhere, my patience that is. I always seem to feel like my plants are so slow, but they aren't. I just need some mental adjustment. I mean.. the DDA is still pretty young.
So with the Destroyer, by feeding less you mean lighter drenches and foliar, correct? So stay on the light side of drenches, around 1ml per gallon of soil? And the Brix at say .75ml per 1oz water? or half strength? I was also going to take Neikos advice on Brix and not do it every 7-10 days but every 14.

Also,I have my panel turned all the way up. I do kinda want to put some red in there to help bulk up the buds as well. Would it be too late, say tomorrow, to hang some red in there? Remember I hung that light in my last tent with that panama clone, but the panama clone was messed up so I turned it off. I dont think it was the red light, it was just the fact I suck with clones:rofl:

Thanks Duggs!

Thanks so much Gray, I appreciate the kind words.
That CD-1 is beautiful eh, she really loved the up pot. What I did was sprayed her with De-Stress at transplant, then 4-5 days later I soaked her with leaf wash. She really loved it!

I was hoping I could keep a deeper green and more shine to those big ass fan leaves, but over all she looks pretty good. Oh yes, those stems are so super stiff. I am looking forward to seeing how thick and full the colas get, and see if those stems can support them.
Thanks for your kind words Gray! I hope you have a great evening.
