Aberration Goes Ker Bloom! - Perpetual

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

nice drybox and nice plants! glad this round worked well for you.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Now that is one organized mofo! I really have to congradulate you on the room and your current grow. If I can ever save up enought money and move to a house instead of a condo. I hope to build something along the lines of your room. Until then I will just have to make do with my 2'X2'X5' grow cabinet.

Here's to enjoying the fruits of your labor :)

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Thank you all. :thankyou:

I had a tense moment today. I have been away since Friday morning, so the plants and the drying buds have been entirely on autopilot for 2 1/2 days. When we got home and I went in to look, I had butterflies and visions of ruined bud. Apparently it was all mild paranoia though - it looks like everything went fine. The plants are thirsty but OK and the buds are fairly dry but not crispified. I was really worried the buds would get over-dry while I was away.

I may further restrict air flow to slow down the drybox a bit more though The buds we manicured Thursday are drier than I would like for so short a time. I'm thinking maybe putting them into paper bags and leaving those on the floor of the drybox might slow them down. There doesn't seem to be any indication of mold, but I'm only really able to look with a green light for now. When the lights come on this evening I'll take a better look, but I don't think I'll find anything.

I'll be back later with the feeding report and further observations, but overall I seem to have weathered this blind leap of faith.

Great job this time round!!!! That dry box is sick!!! Those budz drying look very stoney, what % of trich's were cloudy on that one by the time you harvested?

About 90% by my eye. I'm using a 60x scope and they looked almost uniformly a cloudy white-grey.

Today is day 56 for POG1, POG2, and PG4. They all look like they have a majority of cloudy trichomes as well now, but I'm not positive, as it is late and my eyes are a little blurry. I'm going to give them balanced water and let them coast for now. I'll check again tomorrow.
Code:
-> POG1, POG2, PG4:
1. 1.5 gallons water
   pH 6.18 @ 22.0 C
Code:
-> KK:
1. Pre-flush: 1/2 gal.
   Per gal:
	 1 T liquid bone meal
   pH 6.21 @ 21.5 C

2. Feed: 1 gal.
   Per gal:
	 2 t Soil Nute
	 2 t PGE
	 3 t Notrazyme
	 1 oz yucca
	 1 T Biggest Bloom
	 1 T liquid bone meal
	 2 t Feather Tea
	 1 oz Amino Blast
	 1 T Bioactive
	1/2 t Carbon sweet
	 1 t Cal-Mag
         1 T Calcium Syrup
	 1 t Companion
   Adjust to 1370 ppm.
Brought up with liquid lime to pH 6.22 @ 21.7 C

We completely cut down and trimmed the Gravity (GV), and it is in the drybox now. Tomorrow I should have time to transplant some of the veg, and then I should have a couple replacements to go into bloom.

The Lavender (L) has been drying for 5-6 days. It seems about right, and it smokes fine, except that it's still a bit brash and needs to cure. I'm going to leave it in the bowl it's in now (with a newspaper 'lid') until tomorrow, and then I'll jar them. The high goes right to my head. The taste is pretty good too.

Since I don't expect them to lose much more weight as evaporated moisture, I weighed the Lav:

117.5 g! :cheertwo:

That works out to just a hair over 4 oz. Sweet! At that rate (and other plants still in there are much heavier) I should have no problem getting 1 1/2 lbs., which was my measure of success for this round. I am so stoked. :bongrip:

Pics of the dried buds and a smoke report on the Lav are just around the corner.

:peace:

P.S.: This isn't the end. I will not be moving to a new thread when these are all in jars. This journal really isn't just about this one bloom cycle - it's about everything I do in my grow. It is an ongoing 'grow journal'. Therefore I have decided that it makes the most sense to make this journal a yearly cycle. Hopefully it doesn't get too unwieldy.

So don't go away, because I have Orange Crush and Matanuskan Thunderfuck waiting in the veg room. I also have an extensive list of strains that I can get for asking from my mentor. I'm thinking of listing a bunch of them and letting you folks help me decide what to grow. What do you think? I'll post the list shortly.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

So these are the strains that my mentor either maintains a mother for, or he can generally trade for the rest, at no cost. This list is probably out of date, so I will need to verify it with him. You would be surprised how many experienced growers I hear are losing mothers. He has (or had) about 2/3 of these himself. Finally, keep in mind that almost all are cuttings-only and there is no way to verify that they are what they are claimed to be:

  • Matanuskan Thunderfuck: Two versions. One is a cut from the first seed on the market. May be Matanuskan Tundra. The other is from cuttings out of North Cali. We are still evaluating.
  • Lavender
  • Purple Sage
  • Arcadian Trainwreck
  • Sensi Star #1 & #3
  • Life Saver x Diesel
  • Romulan DIesel
  • Purple Kush
  • Trinity #1 & #2
  • Snowbud
  • Pineapple
  • Honey Bucket
  • G13 x Godbud
  • Major League x Blue Magoo
  • Pot of Gold
  • Afgooey
  • Orange Crush
  • G13
  • DOA
  • Shishkaberry

I won't do these, but he has them:
  • S.A.G.E.
  • 'Other' Trainwreck
  • African Violet (probably gone, he didn't like it at all)
  • Potent Purple
  • Gravity
  • PG4
  • PG7
  • Kaia Kush
  • White Russian #2

I already ruled out some, as you can see, for various reasons. Anybody have any opinions of what I should try in the next clone round?

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

- have had really good results with godbud. Do you have access to jack herrer/jock horror or black domina? They are both amazing strains and are even better when crosbread.

Nice!! Thats going to give that nice stoney feeling more of a couch lock, thats what I look for.

Go for some Purp Kush or some G13xGodBud for sure!

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Thanks guys, I'll take that into consideration.

Transplant day!

MTN1 (new Matanuskan Thunderfuck) and OC5 (Orange Crush) went into 10 gallon pots. Watered in with 2 gal water each, plus Bt-i, myco and companion. pH 6.21 @ 24.2 C. Then they were put in the bloom room.

MTN2, OC1 and OC3 went into 4 gallon bags. Watered in with 1.5 gal water each, plus myco and companion (ran out of Bt-i, need to get some). pH 6.19 @ 24.1 C.

MTO1 (old Matanuskan Thunderfuck) and MTO2 went into 2 gal bags. Watered in with .75 gal water each, plus myco and companion. pH 6.23 @ 23.9 C.

The remainder of the veg crowd go back to M. He knows other med growers that could use the healthy plants and I don't need them now. I'm just going to give them balanced water tonight and take them to him tomorrow (I hope).

Good work man, congratulations

I love the continuous journals; demonstrates the art to the many newbies who are trying to learn the perpetual aspect of the art

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

POG1, POG2, and PG4 are now in flush. I am confident about the trichomes, so they are ready.

         2 T Clearex per gallon
Code:
-> KK:
1. Pre-flush: 1/2 gal.
   Per gal:
	 1 T liquid bone meal
   pH 6.24 @ 24.7 C

2. Feed: 1 gal.
   Per gal:
	 2 t Soil Nute
	 2 t PGE
	 3 t Notrazyme
	 1 oz yucca
	 1 T Biggest Bloom

	1/2 t Carbon sweet
	 1 t Cal-Mag
         1 T Calcium Syrup
	 1 t Companion
   Adjust to 1335 ppm.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Here's some pics.

First up. This is my first harvest ever, weighing in at just over 4 oz from the Lavender. It is now in jars curing:

Second, here is a shot of a bunch of veg I had to move aside. A good chunk of these are going to M as I mentioned before. I seem to be OK at veg now (seriously, it's a relief):

SS854351-vegers.JPG

Here is a pic into the bloom room, you can see the new girls front and center. The three in the back are POG1 (Arcadian Trainwreck), POG2 (?), and PG4. In the center is the long running Kaia Kush. It still has some work to do before it is done:

SS854353-blooming-now.JPG

You may have noticed a plant peeking in the left of that last picture. It's a cucumber plant growing on top of a carbon filter I'm not using at the moment:

SS854354-cuke1.JPG

It looks beaten, but it has stuff like this growing on it:

Aren't plants interesting?
