I've been trying to decide if (and if, so how) I should build a drying space in the bloom room. I don't have anyplace else that is appropriate. The humidity and temps should be OK in there. I just need to build a cardboard enclosure to control air flow and provide darkness. It's a temporary solution, but right now it's the only one I have.

I think if I build a cardboard 'cupboard' and put bamboo stakes through it horizontally, I can hang the manicured branches from those. With some holes at the bottom and one at the top, ventilation should be OK. I'm thinking maybe a small computer fan pulling exhaust to keep a little air movement would be good. I don't want the air flow to dry them out too soon, but I do want the air to carry the moisture away.

What do you think? Would that work OK?

So POG1 is not a diesel (I really was high). It is an Arcadian Trainwreck. Still unclear what POG2 is.

I spent some time looking at trichomes today. They are all looking good. The L and GV are milky. The rest show nice trich development.

I started to mix up a batch of soil until I realized I was missing one component. :| And since the store it is at is not open til Monday, I guess I mix soil and transplant then.

It's funny. Lots of leaves are fairly yellow, and yet they aren't falling off much at all. Cool.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Thank you. If you've seen my last thread, you know this is worlds better than my last attempt. I'm rather pleased. :D

I mixed up enough new soilless medium to fill a Rubbermaid Roughneck XL size tub (50 gal). Next time I fill that thing, I need to remember to put the dolly under it first. It was heavy. Tomorrow night will be transplant night hopefully.

My very first personal harvest began today! Woot! I cut down about 2/3 of the Lavender, trimmed it up and hung it to dry. I built a drying box. It's 3'w x 2'd x 4'h, has a very gentle air circulation and is light-tight. It's also very ghetto, but I think it's going to work. I'll show pics tomorrow hopefully. It's after midnight here and I have to go to work in the morning, so I'm in a hurry. I'll finish the Lavender tomorrow and the Gravity comes down in 4-5 days probably. It's all very exciting.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

The dry box is constructed out of 2" foam insulation sheets, except the floor, which is 1". Turns out light goes thru the panels, so I put tinfoil over the outside. I know. Tinfoil. WTF? But it's cheap and opaque and I had a bunch. Plus it matches the shiny foil tape I used on the foam panels. So that gives it structure and it's dark inside. The whole front opens.

At the bottom front on the door is a 3" hole with 2 90s and a 3' straight section. All are flat black on the inside (spray paint) , so it's light-tight. This one is the intake.

Then at the back top we put 2 90s together into a 135 degree bend and added 3' of straight. This is also all black inside and light-tight. I climbed inside and closed it to verify. At the top end of this 'snorkel' intake is an 80mm computer fan hooked to a computer power supply. I stole both from a machine with a fried motherboard I had in the garage.

The fan at the top pulls just enough air through that exhaust tube to keep it refreshed. While it is running and you are inside, you can feel just the faintest breath of air coming in.

I ran bamboo plant stakes all the way thru the box; in one side and out the other. Then I trimmed them on the outside and taped the ends over. This gave me six 3' long bars to hang colas and branches from. Heres some of the lavender about to be transferred in there now.

I ran it with that bud inside overnight. Humidity was 48-52%, and temps were 72-75 F all night, and all day today as well. That is the most recommended ranges, hanging in the dark. Hopefully it does me right because I have to go away for 2.5 days and they will be on their own. :\

Finally, this. Yesssssss!

We finished trimming the Lavendaer last night and it's drying now. I started to put OC5 in to replace the Lav, but I decided against it until it gets transplanted to a larger pot (2 gal now).
