Aberration Goes Ker Bloom! - Perpetual

that blue dream is insanely covered in trichomes, nice job man it never dissapoints

No, it never does. It's the most photogenic pot I've ever grown - every time. I love to smoke it too.

The trimmer is on the way in the morning. The 'Lavender' indica (L.4F)and the BigBud x BlueMagoo (BBX.2J) in flush will be harvested, trimmed and hung by tomorrow night.

Then next is the Blue Dream (BD.5S), the Trinity (TRN.1D) and the test Afghani Hindu Kush (AHK) who all come out together. Speaking of the AHK, she's still packing on the trichs, and like the BD and TRN she still has another 30 days before her harvest target. If this keeps up she will be one big ragged bud by then. Interesting.

NICE JOB as ALWAYS!! :thumb:

That slh and tdr look great! I can't to follow them along their journey from VEG to your pipe :)

Hope you had a good weekend friend!

i smoked blue dream once, picked up an eighth and went through it way too fast, it was nowhere near as crystally as yours, it was fairly green, but had a super amazing high, loved that stuff.

Thanks, y'all.

L.4F and BBX.2J ('Lavender' indica & BigBud x BlueMagoo respectively) were harvested and are hanging as expected. They did OK. Neither is grown for productivity as they are both on the low end, but they sure do make nice smoke.

My next harvest is in a month. Meanwhile I put two Blue Dream girls in to replace the L and BBX: BD.6D & BD.6E. Given the standard 70 days for this strain they should be ready at the end of November.

so which size pots are you using for bloom? 6 or 9? how much does each take in gallons?
Hope all is well with you.

Yes, they are indeed getting longer. Right now, none of the three bloom pairs are at the same stage and I have 2 stages of veg plus the pre-feed flush. 6 out of a possible 7. I liked 4 better. :)

The bloom pots are #10 I think. I measured the volume to my "fill line" and it comes out to 9 actual US gallons.

I'm doing well. Life is good. I've been getting outdoors more lately and it's been nice. Trying to play with some of my 'toys'. Thanks. How's it going in your neck of the woods?

I'm starting a couple more seeds soaking tonight:

1 x Green House Cheese
1 x T H Seeds Burmese Kush

I'll plant them tomorrow night or Sunday morning (-ish). I mixed 1 tsp 10% seaweed extract (Ascopyllum nodosum) with 1/2 gallon water and balanced it to pH 6.21. That's my soak solution, and I will use the rest when there are a few true leaves. Until then I will spritz with distilled water and the seaweed mixture can store in the fridge.

I also rolled some doobies:

I do love joints.

D@mn I hear that, 4 is better and I am sure it takes you quite a bit longer now as well. I really like using super soil. I just pretty much water them evey 4 or so days. I do brew a tea twice during flower.
I wish you could try one (with my soil receipe) against one of yours. It would be a great comparison! I would do it but there is no way to get all the items you use and I am sure you are very specific about mixing all those ingrediants.
9 gal is just great :thumb:, I think mine are 6.5 to 7 but I don't know for sure.

:thumb: those are some of the fatest Js I have seen! :high-five: but more importantly what is in them? :)

I just plain warm water in a dark non drafty place, works everytime for me.

Life is good! going to watch my daughters soccer game this morning its gonna be warm and overcast today, but still a great day to get out there here where I am. that just great man get out there! Have a good one and talk to you soon.

:peace: may your ladies be ripe!

Here's a 1-post photo-essay of the seeds.

I wanted to try this Green House Seeds Cheese:

20110924Aber-01.png

And this T H Seeds Burmese Kush:

20110924Aber-02.png

So I popped them out of their packaging:

20110924Aber-03.png

20110924Aber-04.png

I marked 3 oz cups and added the seaweed solution:

20110924Aber-05.png

And I dropped them in:

20110924Aber-06.png

As soon as I looked at that pic I knew it would be blurry. The seeds had drifted so I tried to get them back in view for a second shot, but the Cheese sunk when I touched it with a toothpick. Just like that:

20110924Aber-07.png

Straight to the bottom:

20110924Aber-08.png

The BKU stayed afloat for about 1/2 hour:

20110924Aber-09.png

I was worried at first at the suddenness of the Cheese seed's drop. I could swear I heard it hit the bottom of the cup. Maybe I was just high.

In any case, as mentioned above I planted them. Seeing that the CH had split and a healthy root was just inside made me feel better about that seed. Just freaking fast I guess. Ready to rock... I hope.

I was going to take pics of the soaked CH seed to show the split, but I was silly. I didn't have the camera ready, so I just planted it. There will be something more interesting soon...

bro i notice your ph is always around 6.2, is there any specific reason you do this? I usually keep mine around the 6.3-6.8 range, but it typically is around 6.5-6.8. Looking to drop it lower if you think it's important.

It's a compromise between the pH levels I read were appropriate for soil vs. soilless mediums. I mix actual soil and organic elements with my coco, so it really kinda falls between the two categories. It also puts the pH in a range that should be OK for absorbtion of all the macro and micro nutrients. I was worried for a time that my assumptions might be invalid, but generally this pH keeps them all healthy - both in bloom and veg.

Recently I widened my acceptable pH to 6.10-6.30, just because using the range of 6.20-6.26 took longer because it was more exacting. I'm beginning to think I may need to narrow that down some though. Bloom is doing great, but veg seems more susceptible to problems related to over-watering and other issues. I'm considering a move to using a 6.15-6.25 range. I'm also considering using different pH ranges in veg vs. bloom, but I'm still thinking on that

For folair I use 6.40±0.05. That, with warm water, seems to work quite well. The nutes get absorbed and the water is either absorbed or evaporates quickly, allowing my to put them back in full light sooner.

In the end, it's all just guesswork based on conflicting advice, but it seems to work for the most part. I'm no botanist (in fact, I avoided gardening at all costs before I started growing cannabis) so I just try to do the best I can and pay attention when my plants don't like it.

:peace:

Regarding the seeds I planted 2 days ago, the Cheese is up today. That's one healthy seed: she cracked in under 7 hours in the soak, and is above the soil 2 days after planting.

:thumb:

I'm still waiting on the Burmese Kush, but who expects a seed to surface in two days? I sure didn't. That color coating must really do something, cause the SLH was a Green House coated seed and it came up after 3 days in soil. The BKU could take a week or more.

Anyhow...

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Yeah, I'm pretty excited every time I think about it. No one has been growing a good cheese around here (that I know of). Very few med growers I know use seeds at all, so there's a really odd collection of clones doing the rounds.

Anyway, the 'lavender' indica and the BigBud x BlueMagoo I harvested on the 19th just went into jars. The Lav gave me 7 1/3 oz and that BBX was good for right at 10 oz. Right on! I'll be set for a while. :cheer:
