Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009
I love this journal, it is exactly how I was planning to do mine with the level of detail. If only I had more time. Anyway things are looking awesome, can't wait for PS harvest pics. I've got some new stuff up stop by if you get a sec.
Thanks. I did take down PS.1E tonight. While I was out, I had a long conversation with a couple of local growers. I think I need to adjust my nute regimen and increase my size going into bloom just a bit. I think I've gone too far in my downsizing. My production is down just above 1/4 lb per plant. I liked 6-8 oz each a lot better,
In any case, I should have the PS back from trim/dry in a week or so. When I get it I will take dry bud pics of it, as well as a couple other strains I recently harvested.
I know it isn't fair to tease and then make everyone wait like that, but I'm so swamped ATM. More on that in a bit...
I have been watching your thread. I like your setup, actually. And the video is great (once I get done waiting for my slow-a$$ Tor-ified network connection to pull it down - my problem, not yours). Great to have you around. You are another detail guy.
Real quick dumb question Ab, when you watered your small veg on the 8th, to saturation. Then you watered 2 today later, late last night, to saturation, was the soil still a little moist?
I am trying to apply your aggressive organic feeding schedule to grow (full line of earth juice products) and am just a little concerned about over watering. I am growing in ProMix HP, so it is a very soil-less airy medium.
Yeah, It was probably a tad moist, but over-all they were ready. I try to control the dryness level of the pots by putting the plants into the right size container. If the pot is too big the soil will stay moist too long. If it is too small, it will dry out too fast. If I size my pots correctly and keep up with the transplanting on time, I can just feed them every other day without really worrying if they are ready for it. Does that make sense?
My mix is not as airy as yours I think, so I would expect yours to dry faster. I wouldn't worry nearly as much about over-watering as I would about under-watering. They put up with over-wet better I think. And with myco, Bt-i and Companion (Bacillus subtilis) there is much less risk of rot etc. Just don't drown them. And if they seem a bit lethargic or whatever from the over-doing it, back off and let them dry a bit longer every once in a while. When they are healthy, the roots will catch up and put you back on schedule in no time.
Great grow journal....really love the detail and the results are showing it. Have you ever looked into a mini-split A/C? I run one in my room and it works like a champ even in my climate area. Anyways....great job!
Thank you. I am actually looking into a mini-split system already. I need an 18K and 2 12K. I'm not sure I trust the cheaper brands, and 18,000 Btu gets expensive fast with the big names, so choosing one is turning out to be difficult. Especially since I don't find a lot of reviews. What brand do you use? How long have you had it?
Sorry to be so forward with the questions.
You know something Abe the best part isn't the growing(which is top notch): its your attention to detail.
Many grower strive to get that, when it seems to come natrually. +rep my friend
Thank you. I hope to provide more interesting detail soon. I know my feed reports are fairly boring these days, and I haven't had much time for pictures. But I have a big expansion in the next few months and I hope to have lots to share that is more exciting. Right now I'm just trying to finish some other unrelated major projects that have been eating up my time for
years now. I am
so close to finishing them, and I'm getting antsy to start constructing "grow, phase two".
The thing is, the more developed my grow gets, both materially and in terms of technique and skill, the more I will automate. And the more I automate, the more boring my grow will be.
Let's hope I can at least make it interesting along the way.
I'm awfully stoned and it's awfully late. G'nite all.
