This advice comes from two of my most respected cultivators of autos, both Atrain and cajuncelt.

3. Don't switch to bloom nutes too early. You need to continue treating them as vegging plants for a couple weeks into flowering, since they flower so early on. This is probably the second biggest mistake made with autos, second only to the transplantation error. I'm guilty of that one, but I've resolved to overcome it starting now.
arteekay should be your go-to for the nute schedule. Mine grow in LOS. My hempy will be my first attempt at bottled nutes, so I'll need to work with him too.
Right there, #3 has been our problem for a while as well. We switched our Quarter Pounder back to grow nutes last night and the improvement in her has been astounding.
We really fly by the seat of our pants on nutes, after about 4 weeks we just have to hope we're communicating with the girl well enough to figure it out. We've both starved and burned quite a few.
Stable genetics help, but ultimately each seed is an individual and every plant is far more unique in an auto grow than a room of clones.
Should I train for yield?
I ask because I hermied my last attempt at an Auto because what I assume was training.
You've got the space to experiment bud, I look forward to watching your comparison videos!
Absolutely, you should train. arteekay and Jay have it down to a science. I suggest you take some time and follow just one of their plants from seed to harvest. It's like they're running a manual on how to consistently grow successful autos.
Seriously, if you want to succeed with autos you should be watching them closely.
You are far too kind Sue, we're just fakin' it till we make it.
As long as we're indoors I'll be training. Even in a sog I'd do some minimal training at least. IMHO only, YMMV.
Wait until you see my "Dancing with Cannabis" video
I can't tell if I'm scared or aroused, but I'm in for the ride either way!
Very good information Jay!
But it was be stated that Boveda does advertise that burping is not required when their product is in control.
I think if their product is used correctly there shouldn't be a problem.
Here's what their site says:
- Boveda is fine-tuning by adding or removing moisture from the flower to give it the same moisture content throughout the flower. Burping for the sake of moisture isn't necessary, so burp only if you like!
- We recommend drying a little past ideal so that Boveda's primary purpose is to give moisture to the flower. That's because it's easy to tell when Boveda needs to be replaced — when the entire thing turns into a fairly solid wafer.
- When Boveda's primary use is to remove excess moisture, it'll still be soft and impossible to tell when it's absorbed all it can.
The "burp only if you like" is contradicted by their second two points. You have to burp if your boveda has absorbed all it can. It'd be interesting to test a freshly opened boveda pack, large and small, for what they can actually absorb. I'd bet it won't be very much at all, but I'll admit to not having any hope of figuring out the math without experimentation. That said, their recommendation of using it primarily to raise, not lower is all I needed to see past the advertising.
It's a higher tech, better version of the piece of bread or apple in the pouch of dried out tobacco.
Pigeon, I am so glad you did the budwashing video also. I saw the trichs!!!!! Yipee. But also saw A LOT of hair...between me, my cat and my dog...yuck. Harvesting will absolutely include budwashing
We've found we're not actually seeing a lot of the hair being removed with the washing, and we're still finding a lot in our buds afterwards. I saw one in the Red Poison nug Pigeons had in his video with them, dammit. Our dog and the remaining cat are both heavy shedders though. We really need to grab a roomba to keep up with it better.
Have other's actually seen hairs floating in the buckets afterwards? We get some red hairs and some clipped leaves that didn't fall off cleanly, but otherwise nothing really of interest in our wash water.
Question about subscribing....I live in a no go state and am a nurse. I love ur videos but fear subscription because I don't want it traced to the real me.
I am new to all this...remember that when I give my limited advice
Use the same account you used here. I was more worried about my subscription here than youtube.
