A Taste Of Chocolate And Blueberries With Vipar Spectra XS 1500 Pro

Happy Saturday growers :)

The plants may be a little on the small side but they are very healthy. They're both a lovely shade of green, unblemished and drinking 3 L every 3 or so days. I can't complain about a thing. The soil has been a win.

Those of you who have journeyed with me through the previous brand of craft soil I was using, might be interested that I am going to reuse the spent soil because I can't bear to waste it all. I have been keeping it in black plastic totes, allowing the old roots to break down in there and spread their myco. I have already mixed in the Essential Blend, which is the mix for revitalizing the soil, and it is cooking nicely until May next.

I am generating way too much used soil that is not being conserved properly. I have been putting it in my garden but I no longer need more topsoil in the garden. I must simply buy more totes for recycling soil and stop buying new.

Have an awesome weekend.

That's one big reason I went to LOS Carm! The thought of a constant grow and tossing the soils out didn't agree with me as well. Some years it's 100 gallons! Good luck with the amend! Keep it in the warmest place you can in the house, oh wait I'm in winter :) . Nevermind.

Carmen I have found that the real key to recycling soil is 2 things. The first is to break up and leave the entire rootball and all the trimmings from harvest in the tote to replace as much carbon as possible, and the 2nd is to keep the soil moist at about the same level of moisture that your plants are at when you check them and decide that they can wait 1 more day to be watered.

It will break things down better with the moisture, and the carbon from the roots is the best carbon in the whole plant so you definitely don't want to grow without it.

I love your plants. They look really nice😍🥰. Very happy.

I'm glad you perservered and found a mix that works well for you.

Sounds like maybe you found a good organic shop owner too. Worthy of your money at his till👊.

I can't wait to see how pretty these buds are. It will be hard to beat the pretty that your last flowers gave us.

Yeah what Gee said twofold. I remember your travails as you struggled with various mixes. And totally when you find something that works keep that supplier/person close! Not just with grow medium, works with other stuff too!

Its a not a competition but if it was it would be one I’d like to be losing 😂 our flower room is 420 litres a grow (21x 5 gallon/20L) = 105 gallons.

4th grow this year in there. Why I’m focussed on reducing pot sizes now. Coco literally grows on trees here. But coco peat buffered and with myco and perlite ain’t that cheap at the moment. We have about 400 litres on hand but need another 144 for another grow as well. We pour it into the jungle next door but it does seem a bit wasteful.

Banging plants Carmen - Klippies on me!

:) Sound advice and I will remember that when winter comes. Thanks Otter. I feel sick when I remember taking 40 L of soil to the dump because it was full of grubs and I didn't want those in my garden. There was a worker at the dump who was utterly mortified that I was throwing away this beautiful soil. I felt guilty and it was kind of a tipping point for me.

Thank you Gee man! This is gold.

I did leave the root matter in there, not the other. Next time.

Ja but the irony is that I am going to be reusing the troublesome soil instead of buying new. It has been in black plastic totes since the Gelato and Parmesan harvests. I've mixed in the stuff that revitalizes it and I'll leave it to do it's los thing until May when I will reuse it. I hope it is successful. If not, its back to this new soil, which I really like a lot.

I have a question. I was breaking up some RR 2 bud to grind and out popped a lovely hard seed. What I'd like to know is whether it would be an auto or a photo? It could be male or female. It's from the little outdoor auto.

There's no way to know without knowing what the pollen came from.
If it was a male auto, it'll be an auto. If it's from a male photoperiod without any ruderalis genes it'll be a photoperiod. A male that's half auto, there's a 25% chance it'll be an auto.

Highya Carmen,

Or, it could be from a hermie nana on her somewhere, which would make female seeds auto. Like MH said, who knows where the pollen came from. Happy Smokin'

P.S. Love your little ladies all pistilled out! Very pretty! Had Daffy (our cat) in my lap before, so couldn't leave a message.

Hey Bode :)

I remember my biology classes at school, where we talked about brown and blue eyed children and that came back to me when Mel explained.

I thought of a Hermie. Anything is possible. I didn't see any nanners but that doesn't mean there weren't any hidden in the flowers. I threw the seed away because of the unknown factor.

I'm so glad you think my plants are pretty too. I think that the Blueberry in particular is looking frosty and pretty.

Give Daffy a kiss from me and a scratch.

Have a lovely Sunday!

Ahh the outdoor one? It could be anything. Pop it outside end of Jan and see if it grows. It will stay little .

Ah, I threw it away. Anyway I have to remove all trace as soon as these two autos are harvested because of the guests. It would have been fun though :)

Another stunner of a day! I am serving my gammon with deviled eggs, pickles and mustard for brunch this morning. Then it's off to the beach.

Have an awesome time with the rellies.

So damn healthy. :green_heart: And I would be happy if any of mine turn out to be like either of yours.
Thank you!
As a matter of fact, I'm thinking the Ruby Tuesday is going to look much like your Chocodope in a couple of weeks!
Do you think so? Maybe spreading out a bit better than my Chocodope. I look forward to seeing where things go :)

Here's another festive pic for fun.

I'm glad you asked that question. I e come across beans in dispensary pot. Not sure what to do with them. Take a chance or not..lol. I hate hermies..such a waste of time but then again I may get a nice lady. I dunno. So many seeds and not enough space or time..llol

Hi Carmen, the single seed, did you find it in a crotch of a bud where it connects to the stem or a branch stem connection? Cannabis on occasion will make a seed or two and deposit them there. I've heard they are fems of the mother. Dispensary weed may be different for all that goes on in there.

I felt I didn't want the bother / risk of something I didn't know so I threw mine out.

Oh my gosh! Now I wish I hadn't thrown this one away. I didn't actually see where it came from.

It happens. I had one appear twice or three times in the time I've been growing. How was the beach today? The beach is my kind of a good summer day!
My brunch guest ended up staying all day so I didn't get to the beach today. It's been a beautiful start to summer, I must say.
