A Lotta Ins, A Lotta Outs, A Lotta Strands In The Old Duder's Head: Urban Grows Mad Stanky Dabs

Mad stanky, I am in.
Awesome. Feel free to come and go, share anything, my house is your house. Happy to have you.

I love how the shortcut in my browser for this tab says Stanky Dabs lol.

Yeah reading in bed and now hungry. Wife won't get up and make me anything. Going to sleep with an empty stomach.

lol yeah chances are pretty slim my wife would get up and make me anything either. Pretty sure it would end up being the other way around. I would be bringing my wife grapes and yogurt.

I make myself hungry thinking of food regularly.

Sorry I kept you from your dinner. I really enjoyed seeing you and your wife tonight. I pick up a few things that I had never seen before. I really enjoyed it Thank you for taking the time to have me over.

Great question. Has two answers.

I believe there is an occasion where you DO want monkey balls in your mouth. Purple ones. Thats another 420 mag members story. I think maybe Joe lol

The more accurate answer is by using top quality bud. The bootweed was no bueno. So whatever tasty thing you start with, you should have something decent in the end. Input in, input out. It really is all about the sativas but I made cob with bubba kush/gift of fire f2, Jordan of the island kush/cb dream that was really good.

Well I dunno. To me there are a few.

I really like the buzz. Both smoked and eaten. I also like the ability to seal it up and store it for months, with it aging and improving. Floating along a sunny weekend day on a good dose of eaten cob is spectacular.

Its compacting, cooking/fermenting/breaking down, and essentially making a no fuss concentrate. That can be eaten or smoked. I am still learning to manipulate that process.

Partially dried airy Mulanje x Swaziland, sweat in 40C temps for around 18 hours, has been on a router at around 25 for the last 5 days. The material has changed to a deep golden colour. Visibly lost mass so its continuing to compact and break down chlorophyll or whatever inside the cob. The colour is telling the story to me now after a few attempts at this.

Clink on the link below for the Malawi Cob thread started by @SweetSue which celebrates the process @tangwena has brought to various forums. I would follow that thread to get the low down.
Here is the actual Cob Thread
Thank you for the info UA I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me a little more. I will read through that thread and get some more info on cobbing
:high-five: and your food post made me hungry I may have to find a late night snack

This is the cob made with fresh cut Mulanje x Swaziland. It is the darker cob. I am stopping the process by drying it. Kinda locking in the terpenes/tastes and preparing it for its long sleep in the vacuum sealed bag.

I can watch the moisture leave the cob.

I put together a video of my Malawi Cob making over the last few crops. The tune I created on Logic Pro X. These creations are merely to present the video without breaching some asshats copyright. Don't expect to hear it on the radio. I have plans to make some new stuff soon. Most of the tunes I have created are last year.

I purchased LogicPro, a sound engineering type of software and have been teaching myself how to use it. Sampling, making beats, adding instruments, etc. Not sure why since im not musically inclined. I have made 6 or 7. The first only a minute or two. Latest is around 5:30
Thats where we are at with that. A babe in the woods.

Most notably a parmesan risotto stuff ravioli with a pea sauce, and halibut steak.
I like to cook to and we have made or own pastas before its like anything else what you make at home is better than store bought if you have the time and I do your recipe with the halibut sounds killer to me :cheesygrinsmiley:im into bread making anything bread lol sourdough forever:)

Hay UA Great video, Now I understand the process a little better. When I harvest maybe I can go over to Derbybuds place and have him show me how to do it. I have some Cob that a friend just turned me onto. I am chewing some right now. We will see what this ride is all about

oooh I love bread too. I agree with the sourdough too. Yummy.

Home made pasta is just amazing. I only started a few years ago but its dead simple and so much better. Feels lighter in my belly compared to the dry stuff.

Hey Urb, Great cob vid! Thanks. I have to try mine again and make more soon too. Have you gone straight from the branch to the roll? Or do you dry a little first?
Yeah I would dry it a bit more. In the video you can see some thats was a bit too moist and some that was a bit too dry.

The best stuff is partially dried but with enough moisture to aid in the sweat. Letting juices melt together in one homogenous log. Too wet and we lose terps I think, too dry and the sweat and ferment could take longer.

im still learning so...I could be wrong lol

Thank you Sir! Its quite easy. Once you do it once or twice you get to know the ropes and can work within the guidelines.

my technique was adapted to what I have available. Some folks sweat the cob inside a dehydrator set to 40, others use sous vide machine. It can be done many ways I think.

give us an update on the fun you have with the cob!

Wow thank you Tangwena. I appreciate that. Truth be told I have been pretty much off my rocker smoking that Mulanje x Swazi in its various stages of drying...

But seriously thank you. The sativa is a nice positive, active, upbeat buzz. Also feeling very buddha lately.

"all suffering is caused by desire".

The MxS has definitely influenced this thread but the majority of its intention comes from this community. Combined the two are pretty fun lol. The nurturing and supportive nature of many of the forum members cultivates a desire, and willingness, to give freely. Sending equipment, seeds, soil, and really the list goes on and on. It's inspiring on a human spirit level, and in todays day and age, that is something special.

So. I wanted to reflect this community back upon itself. While selfishly throwing all my photos and videos and smart ass comments liberally through it

:lot-o-toke:

Sorry I am just getting around to this journal Urb. Gotta catch up.....I brought some chessy poofs!
Hey, you are a busy busy man, I am playing house husband and grandpappy to a small terrier.

Glad to have you here, and Mrs. Stank lurking in the background lol

That is neat that you are working on making your own beats. My son has been workign on trying to make beats. They tend to be decent but busy. I tried making some with him, but mine were a cluster lol. His are better than mine. He wanted a keyboard and I got him one hoping he would learn to play it a bit and be able to start making beats that way. So far the computer program has won out. We were just talking the other day about him making some more.

Thanks man, its been a real learning curve, old dogs teaching themselves new tricks. I listen to a lot of old soul music lately. Al Green and such. Less really is more. I haven't touched my music making since the Raptors won the NBA Championship. Opened it yesterday. There was a half finished song in there with basketball hoop swishes and bounces lol.

I started doing it because I had an IG video blocked due to copyright for having a song playing in the background. Irritated me. So I said F you, I will make my own. I have seen videos of people making entire tracks in 5 minutes. It takes me days or weeks lol.

I will eventually get a little midi keyboard and maybe an audio recording device to capture cool sounds.

More on the Mulanje x Swaziland cobs. Both are now drying to stop the ferment. Once dried they will be resealed to cure. A few months is better. The longer they sit the better they get. Which to me, sounds an awful like scotch, and that's a good thing.

The light isn't great, but here are the 4 cobs, 2 from each plant, and 2 different exposures of the Malawi Cob process. They are now evaporating a lot of water. The darkening will continue to lighten.

The Mulanje x Swazi that I had prized, due to the terps, was given the shorter treatment. The golden colour is right where I wanted it to be. Reflecting other cobs in the main cob thread. This is going to be put into my safe. Legit. When I opened the bag after ferment....wow....sweet aromatic with that fermented note. Best I have made aroma wise.

They will shrink a bit yet...but this stuff is rocket fuel.

Yeah I have seen a few ppl complain about having vids taken down for copy right issues on IG. We are using a free program and it is ok, but I feel there are definitely more user friendly programs that one can use. I told him he has to show some real dedication to doing it before I drop money on one for him.

Yeah good idea. I bought Logic Pro X. Mainly because its not a subscription based program and it comes with 1000's of instruments and drum loops. Pretty easy. Was some of the more reasonable priced software out there. Still, I know 2% of that program.

A little effort has resulted in a reasonable product so. Good enough for this dude.
