A Good Old Fashioned RedHotChiliPepper Grow Off

Side note : Sad to hear how people are PH testing outdoors.... Shoulda been done a long time ago... PH is the least of worries that I keep outdoors.... You cant fix outdoors as easy at all in my experience as those can inside... I guess some are stuck without yards to compost in so like most Home Depot goers have to go to Garden Topsoil aisle ... Though for the giggles, I will test it just once this week... I have never had issues with that outdoors, tho overnuting can burn em, indoors is the only place I can imagine the possibility of PH testing... As before my opinion, and Green Days...

Just passing through. I - somehow?! - managed to forget about starting a garden this year. Which is not just shameful, it's seriously worrying; I depend on my garden for needed food. Too late for seeds, and I've about 32 cents to my name, lol, but I'll be trying to get at least a few assorted plants over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, I haven't completely screwed myself into starvation.

I like peppers. HOT (as long as they actually have flavor instead of just "tasting like fire") by preference - but all peppers, really. And, as such, and because it has been quite a while since I found an excuse to post them, I thought I'd drop a couple of images. BONSAI PEPPER, lol.

Lots easier than doing that with a tree (and years quicker).

Have fun - and grow something for me.

Good Green Memorial Day all you green thumbs... Got a couple of decent pics on a rainy day yesterday... My Great Niece and I went through all the veggies weeding and transplanting overplanted area... Our intentions were of the highest of intentions, however She has allergies and hates Blackflies.... So her participation was short lived, LOL, but it was pretty fun... She of course had alot of questions, Some were about my girls... Kinda tip toed around those, as her Dad is not so enthusiastic about her Gardening prowess... So I will start with my tomato plants ....

.... Pictured first are my Goliath, and Early Girls.... Also pictured is the cherry Toms one is just regular one inch reds, the other is a patio style cherry which will have red, orange, and yellow sweet 1 to 2 inch fruit...

... Next I will proudly display my Jalapenos and Ghost peppers.. The Ghost is the smaller of the two plants for now, but a little tip to all, I always plant two peppers together so they can super pollen share... Lots more peppers that way... As a side note as well, works in the same fashion for those who are growing Bell peppers, Beans/Peas, and Many Herbs to mention just a few... This allows those who are space challenged, have alot more room for diversity in their Veggie garden...

.... See those little peppers starting, cause I didnt really pay attention till I went through the pics this am... I will be taking all but one or two of those off... Way too early.. Same with Tomato plants all are already flowering, Even the Amish Heirloom a buddy of mine donated to me... Traded really, I gave him 3 Different Clones I couldnt use and he gave me two Heirlooms, so win win...

..... Next up are the radishes... I wanted to do the French Breakfast ones, but ended up with Kentucky Sweet reds.. I prefer the French they are longer, and much sweeter than the other, but my sis bought them for me, and thats what I got... Still be good on salads, veggies smoothies, and veggies for sandwiches if that works for ya.. Does for me...

..... Last but not least, the late comers to the party... Green Beans... Planted alot of these because Nature around here just love to eat them... So I must plant like 20 Green Bean plants well thats what I just had pop up.. I was nervous cause it took over 2 weeks to pop... But now I am over run... Still got Broc and Califlower, along with Mush melons and Watermelons and for my Niece Pumpkins....

... As this person's opinion goes, I only use Burpee, and my own vast seed collection for planting... I have always kept seeds from all the plants I grow, as I feel that they get stronger and Genetically more acclimated to the area you are growing in over the years... Oh yeah I still gotta put in my Catnip, and Cillantro and well.... Phew slowly but surely getting there... Be nice when it is done... Good Green Holiday to all it applies...

I have never tested pH out doors. I have chickens and ducks. So my garden starts out every spring Nitrogen rich. Just have to compost the chicken shit so it'll brake down to a useable form first.

Have white sage, elephant ear garlic, lemon thyme.
I move the galic around every year. The sage is for smudgeing. I have targon and lemon time to hang around for pest control. I eat all this too. Yeah cooking your own shit.

Here is another bed fortified with my super soil. Need to try and grow my pot in this.

Looking Good TV.... I have very large compost piles as well, without the poop though.... Not a big fan, works though... I have access fortunately to all kinda Greenhouse and Local farm veggies and fruits for compost... I also have access to river loam to mix soil recipe.... Locally sourced Peat is also a Huge plus... Glad to see ya around, this is a really cool thread for Gardeners and such... Make sure to save your pics in the off topic album... Green Holiday, and cant wait to see your garden grow, I love this shit man...

My GH this morning... frost again last night... all the damaged stuff are removed from the ground cherries... and the celery don't give AF about the frost... green as can be

Not really any worse for the wear eh Guy..???? Still on track, and an FYI I ended up with a couple of buddies that grow Cherries as well... They dont do too well up here though from what they say, Unless you got a climate control GH to start them or alot of time... So This year I will settle for a taste test, and next year if I like then I will be set up with a shit ton more room to grow in my perpetual area.. Hope all is well and Everyone had a Green Day...

Digging the setup in your garden those railroad trestles?
I live in a valley in a valley. Not alot of level ground. So I did use a couple of old RR ties i have three different levels of garden and fruit and nut trees. I hope the ties don't leach criosole.

Green Beautiful Sunday to all.... Had my niece over again last night, unexpectedly I might add.. Always a joy however...
So we went to work in the Garden today, and she finally got her seeds in the ground... She really just wanted to plant something that she actually did, so I gave her some Cilantro, Radishes, and Catnip to start... She was eager this week, as the bugs are starting to find other places to hang out other than my house... LOL...

..... Here are a few pics of her little garden spots...

..... Next will be some pics of the tomatoes, which I must say are really thriving up here... Glad I got them started early, as they are already trying to bear tomatoes... I keep pinching them off, I would at least like for them to be getting a little closer to the top of the cage...

..... Finally some parting shots of my European Sunflower medley... Supposed to be one of the best strains for Sunflower lectin... Beautiful array of earth tones when in bloom... Another benefit is that they bloom continually throughout grow season...
