700W LED - Auto Topping Grow - 2 Plants

Dont need a huge light .just need a few lights.to keep full coverage.are u wanting to buy leds?
Yes I was looking at Mars Hydro as they are a good price and pretty much the only ones available in Aus. There are a couple of others but they're over double the price and I can't afford that.
Was looking at 2x MarsII 900 models to cover the rectangle space but not sure about the square

The reflector 144s cover 2x4ft at 18 inches I believe, slightly less during bloom. I believe they are around $270. I got a pair of reflector 48s for my 2x4 tent, but want to put a 96 and a 48 to get better coverage

With 2 900w lights in either space is gna bring u magic plants for sure;)
Awesome to know thanks dude!

Thanks Dirt I'll keep that in mind. You think their better than the MarsII models?

I have only had experience with the reflectors so I can't answer that. I know the reflectors have the 5w in them. I don't know if the 2 series has the 5s or 3s.
Thanks dude, I think they have the 5w too but glass instead of the reflector screen. More penetration but reflector is more power I think

If you are not dead set on LED and price is an issue - an air cooled 600 watt hps would work wonders in 16 square feet ;)

Five,

I have 4 mars II 300s that I bought from the same sight for about $60.00 each and 1 Mars 1200 that I won. The 1200 is nice, but the 300s I am able to move to make a square almost any size I like. Because they hang separately, I can angle each of them inward slightly. I have had pretty much the same results from both.

Beast, I may have mentioned this to you a while ago while discussing your watering schedule. I have been using a modified version of your same routine. The big one on my current grow, the SAS (Buddha Haze) is just about finishing stretch and I am giving her about 1.5 liters every 36hours, calmag every 72. I read a few posts back about you waiting about 2.5 weeks for the first watering on seedlings. I used to do 1 week for seedlings, but now I am at every 2 days with steadily increasing amounts and I only water to run off twice during the entire grow. The first is a flush done before starting bloom nutes and then a flush 2 weeks before chop.
I thought I might pony up my 2 cents on the flush. I have done it both ways...harvest with all green leaves and harvest after letting the plant empty the leaves of all nutes. I have to say that it is better to let the plant empty the leaves, especially if the goal is a good cure. I think the fact that the nutes are gone and the chlorophyll has already had 2 weeks to break down improves the taste.
As for placing them in the dark for 48 hours. I did this with most of my plants, but I have stopped. It seems that it does help to increase resin production. They come out of the dark looking like they have been varnished. I don't think the weed is any more potent and, to me, it doesn't taste as good. Just my opinion.

Your girls are like amazon monsters!! are you feeding them AN nutes or small animals and neighborhood children? :) I can't wait to see the yield on these ones.

Facing the same question, I went for the LED since they really use less power and the plants seem to like them.
I'm using two MarsHydro Reflector144 LEDs (317W each) in a 4x4x6 Apollo Grow Tent.
Since I'm not even half way through my fist test I can only say, so far so good!

Best of luck with your project! ;)

Well, glad to hear the pets are safe :) I have never run a journal, although I plan on doing one this winter. After my current finishes. I always wanted to but I wanted to run it as a demonstration of an easy, low effort method to pull 3-4 oz/auto, mainly for noobs. I had so much help from you and others in the forums that I wanted to do something a bit different to help new grower to be smoking in 3months rather than selling all of their equipment for 1/2 price :)

Just had a look at the 900s :thumb: 2 will do more then the job in a 1.2x1.2m. For hanging them maybe in a row diagnally.
Good to know. I was thinking diagonally too, thanks dirt

I prefer LED due to the power consumption and low heat, but thanks for the advice

That's a good idea, never thought of doing it that way
