600W LED Grow

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

oh jeezus. imagine if you could apply the buckets horizontally along the wall (without everything falling out) giving you that 8ft to use across instead of in height. :smokin:

thanks brother! i hope this turn out real good. it amazes me how this light can be kept at 25-30" and not have crazy stretching. tells me it seems to have good penetration. we will see how that plays out in flowering

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

I have had my 300W within 10" of the ladies, and they are not moving. No stretching at all. To the point where I have to do something like raise them or end up with some 6-10" long nugs...for Lowryder that's not bad, but yeah...I notice the same irish. Imma raise mine up

Give them smelling salts and slap them around a bit, sounds like they fell asleep! If you don't get a response , may I suggest some CPR!

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

I am getting some vertical growth but it isnt much. I have my lights close, 10 inches is probably the furthest it is away from the plants in week one. I progressively step the lights down as the plants mature through week six. Light one is 10 inches, light two is 8 inches and light three will be @ 6 inches. Good times. Week three starts today.

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

What do you think personally of that distance irish? It would rock to be able to keep these lights at a further distance, without having to lower them to extremely low during the last weeks or whatever. I am bleaching under every mfg's led panel currently. All lights were set at around 8" from the get-go. I am thinking maybe a little further away is not such a bad thing after all. Especially with these 300 +watt panels.

I'm curious how the distance is panning out for you bro.

the distance for me in veg seems to be working fine. i dont really go by what the company's say bro. i just look at my plants and if its too close they will let me know. if its too far and i am getting stretching then i move it closer. if ur getting bleaching they their way too close. my hindu skunk that was real close to the 126w got bleaching and it ruined half of my top buds i had to throw it out. but i did have a choice because i had to keep the light close to my Blue dreams. i have always found 12" to not give me bleaching. but i believe you gold raise ur 300w closer because it uses 3w leds that are more intense. i dont know until i hit flowering?

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

Sweet sweet. I am thinking I am raising it to a good 12". I need a bit of stretch actually, with about 3-4 weeks left. Within the next couple of weeks they will fatten up, and they are too short for that right now...I think it is because of being too close...it's kind of cool though...that we can back them up a bit. I remember last year I lit my 30x30 area with my lumigrow and did better than my 400W hps. easy. Granted that is my growing, but it sold me. That unit has yet to be replaced by any other manufacturer's unit or claims. I hope this spectra rocks it, because mine runs in tandem with the lumigrow. 600W over a 30x30 area. Crazy shit...

I will try raising and see whats up.

Thanks for your input bro. I think I can yank a serious yield for me off these lights if we can keep them at 12" or so straight through!!!!!

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

$1900 for 600w of light? That's a pretty steep investment, when the only apparent savings would be on a fan and the power to run them, assuming, of course, you're comparing apples to apples and used a 600w HID setup.

Hope to see some positive results here, believe me when I say, nobody wants LEDs to get there more than me, but the cost is pretty high.

Good luck and I'll continue watching.

You don't even save on that since anyone not having a fan on their plants keeping the air moving so that the stomata get a constant supply of fresh air is kidding themselves and doing their plants a disservice!

That was awkardly worded on my part, and you are quite correct about the continual use of of fans for the plants, but I was speaking of a cooling fan for the light.

Right and fans run at what? maybe 15w at most...I bet if you stuck this 600w in a closet you would need coolling. And the price wouldn't be steep if in fact they did anywhere close to stated benifits. But were not here for that...Mike just wants to show us that this light is better then the rest!

Yes...but you actually have to purchase the fan...as well as some sort of enclosed hood...those bastards can get pricey...flex, connectors etc. These all add up, but nowhere near enough to offset to price difference in a 600w HID.

I hope like hell it works, no way I'll ever shell out $1900 bucks for one, but if it works, then we know it's just a matter of time before the price gets down to a level that most, if not all, growers can afford.
