5 Unknown Strains - 2012 Grow

I dont think thats considered a flush if your not using twice as much water to flush out the system. Atleast thats my opinion. I cant believe they can take high PPM either. Ive been watching alot of youtube videos where growers will stuff there plants with high ass PPM's and get away with it. I seen a video where a grower stated he got up to using 5ml of dry kool bloom with no problems. Thats insane. Right now im just looking to get more crystals and trichomes on my buds. So I need a really good stand by product. Im inbetween bud candy or sweet raw. I have BPN sea weed but idk think that has enough carbo in it.

Good lemons will give a juice with 2.3 pH. This is almost as acidic as the Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) in your stomach. Don't add too much, or even better, don't add at all. Lemons contain tons of citric acid + some malic acid + some ascorbic acid (aka vit C). I don't think it has any fulvic acid.

i wouldnt think fulvic acid would be a problem. I put lemon juice in my soil before just to cover up the smell of the mj plant.

good point there smoke

Ok, Thanks for explaining a bit more.
I've bugged you enough today Whiz.

just to chime in on Fulvic, I use Liquid Gold Fulvic as a foliar spray in flower.
It effects how a plant's cell metabolism utilises incoming nutrients, light and CO2.
I've seen a considerable amount of bud production since using it.
Only a mist over the flowers about 45 mins before lights on.

Don't you risk mold like that Vic? I'm not criticizing, just asking. I've seen and admire you nugs very much but personally, I don't think I have it in me to just spray H2O droplets on a budding flower. Care to elaborate brother? I'm always in the mood for learning something new :)

Wow so many topics of discussion in here right now. I am amazed at the PPM push as well. Kudos for being able to pull that off. I am unaware of the acid stuff but am anxious to learn about it, so I am awaiting the response as well. :) + reps for the photos as I think your buds look great for day 50.

My buddy taught me to use lemon juice and water (1 part 100% lemon juice to 2 parts water) as a preventative for PM. He also uses it to get rid of PM. Spray it on once a week .... the ascrobic acid in the lemon juice helps to keep away PM. It also ins't light sensitive. So it shouldn't burn your plants under light.

And you can use it way into flower.

Yeah .... powder mildew. The little white specs of mold. I guess that's what you guys where talking about right? Anyway, I heard lemon juice and flowering.

LOL, not really, but that's good info my friend.

Vick suggested spraying flowers with fulvic acid solution before lights on by 30 minutes helped him achieve better and denser nugs. My question was: Wouldn't water droplets increase the chance of mold on full budding flowers? Unless fulvic acid solution has a low pH that's inhabitable my mold or fungus. I was asking him to elaborate because his response caught my attention. I'm always IN for learning how to make my nugs prettier and denser :laughtwo:

Just noticed your pic update wiz. They look fantastic man. Are you noticing any stress or minor burn at these ppm's? Your girls must be really tough to take that, kudos brotha :thumb:

Thanks TG & Smoke. These plants are super tough. Ive been throwing all types of numbers at them and they havent crashed yet. No signs of burning at all. Not even a P deficiency. Im still saying longer veg time will determine the PPM it can handle.

I just use hygrozyme for PM. Never really had a problem with it though.

I looked up that Gold stuff Vick is talking about. Sounds like something I would like to have around the grow room. I figure if you have your room temps and RH in check you wouldnt have any problems with PM. Theres also mold resistant strains also.

Thanls for the reps every one :)

hey iSmokes,
Sorry for the late reply.
Got busy in the room.
Trust me I was reluctant to spray anything on my buds and always have been.
I was once that guy that said, "Well won't it cause mold in the buds!?"
I was even scared to spray things that would help for mold or bugs.
But when I read into how Fulvic acid could help with flower production, I found Liquid Gold.
Had only planned to mix it in with my feeds at first.
I gave a few feeds into the soil. Then the more I researched the product, it sounded like people were mostly using it as a foliar feed.
So I decided to start spraying.
Only misting, not saturating it. Just enough to give the flowers a little dose, and just before lights on so they had enough time with fans on to absorb and dry without causing the light to burn them.
Has been working really well for me since.
I'll stop spraying it at around week 5, so that I can insure my flowers are nice and dry.:cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm going to have to check this out Vick. Proper response bro.

For science's sake, did you do side by side comparison of same strain same medium same pot same light? As in, only variable is the spray.

quiz quiz!!

-same strain,
-same light,
-same tent,
-same environment, temps, RH etc,
-different pots- 35L Hercules rather than 3 gallon hard rounds,
-different medium- 50% Coco- 50% Promix rather than 100% Sunshine mix,
-CO2 levels a little lower by say 300 PPM, on a gradual reduction.

So not identical as far as comparisons go.
But pretty much the same as far as conditions go.
And I can't see root differences having much to do with anything when a foliar additive is involved.
So don't take my word for it, it seems to be doing something cool for me, so I'm happy.
Not by any means am I trying to say,
"TRY THIS! IT'S THE BOMB!"
I just wanted to chime in on Fulvic, as I think it really holds benefits when flowering Cannabis.:rollit:

I completely understand this is you're opinion. Trust me, I'm not the guy to read someone's opinion and go apply it on everything and then blame him for my fuck up .

With that description bro, looks like you carried out a nice experiment. Well done on not believing and actually trying it first to judge it. Thanks for your input. You convinced me to give it a shot with a few bud sites buddy. Cheers!

+rep if I can.
