5 Unknown Strains - 2012 Grow

I just feel it will be a easier automatic way to foliar spray with out you being present ya know. My humidifier lets out a big cloud of mist.

Heres my easy 100% rate way of cloning:cheesygrinsmiley: Using my key ingredients. I let my rapid rooters soak in hygrozyme and super thrive. Cap full each into a cup of water. Also it is very good to feed your plant almost double the nitrogen before taking the cuttings from the main plant. I do this atleast 3 days before I take cuttings. The reason is that the cuttings will be pumped full of nitrogen and nutes so they will feed off of that with out yellowing and have alot of energy to root and grow at the same time. Thats why all of my clones stay dark green. :thumb:

First is the things I use AND of course you know to clean everything before using with alcohol.

Then take the cutting and let it sit in kelp/seaweed until it soaks up threw the veins. Then dip it in your cloning gel. I use Clonex

After I place my cutting in the rapid rooter I use twistys to keep the rooter tight around the stem. Which will keep good moister for it to root faster. Tighter the rooter is around the stem the better. Dont squeeze the hell out of it though:cheesygrinsmiley: Then I place them in my propagation tray using a humidity dome and heating mat. I keep 2x T8 over the dome for lighting.

Proud mother of these cuttings:thanks: I took them from the top of the plant. Also to better aid my plants that I take the cuttings from I put honey on the cut to ease the pain and for the plant to heel better. :)

Just keep it simple!!! K.I.S.S. :thumb:

Thanks for the info summary wiz! Does the honey really help "heal"? I was wondering about something that would :) anything special about honey?

Sugary substances can grow bacteria to a certain extent. However, once the sugar level gets to a certain point, bacterial growth is actually inhibited. Pure, undiluted honey on a cut does two things, seals the wound, and augments healing by providing carbohydrates to the area. Scarring is a simple process in itself, but if you can keep the area sealed, it is much faster. Like applying a band-aid to a cut finger, it will not continue to get irritated and exacerbate the problem.

Jandre answered that perfectly! Couldnt have said it better my self. 100% Honey use it for my plants everyday needs:thumb: I also use it in my feeding solution. 2tbs per gallon. I boil it with Molasses 2tbs each

Note here, that Honey and Molasses in a HYDROPONIC solution could lead to very high amounts of bacteria in a very short amount of time. Most bacteria feed veraciously on sugar because of the amount of energy available. It's okay for healthy soil, but not in hydroponic solutions where the proper countermeasures are not present to prevent bacterial growth.

Thanks for adding that because I wouldnt want someone using hydro to do this. Im not using hydro but still ive noticed ppl do pay attention to my journal now. So I wouldnt want them to screw up there grow. Nice catch Jandre:thumb:

The honey also has some kind of hormone in it that promotes healing. I read it in an article ..... but can't remember where I found it. Or, I would link it.

Thanks a lot guys, very good info. Great input jandre :)
I'm new to taking cuttings, and I'm just about to start "practicing" I guess. I have a dummy plant that's taking all kinds of hits. I'm practicing everything on her. So far I did some topping and LST to get some good cuts. I'm a noob and only worked autos so I'm very inexperienced with any type of plant growth manipulation. Lots to learn :grinjoint:

No problem iSmoke. As far as taking cuttings its really easy. As long as you scrape the sides good and keep the rooter plugs are what ever you may use wrapped tight around the stem you will be fine. Next Ill be seeing if I can root cuttings with out using cloning gel, just humidifier and rooting plugs with propagation tray. I would use an aero cloner so I may start there also. No cloning gel needed there I dont think:hmmmm::hmmmm: got to look into it more.

Stress training is fairly easy also. I just looked at a couple youtube videos on LST and super cropping, and topping and went straight to my grow room and did it lol. I was scared shitless but I did it :thumb: youtube is a good place to watch what you want to learn.

By the way your auto journal is going ill nominate you for noob of the moth!:thumb:

Hey, Smokes, thanks for the rep! I'm glad I could help with the honey thing. Oh, and the hormone thing talked about earlier is with "Royal Jelly". This is a special kind of honey, fed to a larva that will be a new queen. It has hormones in it that cause the change. Great stuff to keep healthy and energetic. 1TBS/day is a good regimen to keep with that one. I'm not sure how well this will translate to plant's life cycles, though.

Also, for taking cuttings for clones... I just happen to have a tut' in the subject:

Cloning: Mad Simple - A Beginner's Guide

Much appreciated Jandre :), I actually know exactly what you're talking about with the royal jelly. It's part of MY diet :laughtwo:, I never thought it would be beneficial to plants as well, but that makes a lot of sense. Lots of benefits in that honey.

Wiz,

What's your journal doing way back at the bottom of page 2?? Your slacking .... LOL. I just figured I'd bump you up to get you back on page 1.

Anything new to tell??

I be creeping on everybody elses journal lol. And helping around forums. Nothing new to tell yet. I ordered some beans so I think theyll be around by the 21st. Hopefully sooner. I got DNA LA Confidential and Barneys Blue Cheese. 3 freebies come with it 2x Skunks & Royal something fem beans. So Ill be starting those on my new grow journal which will be called the "Growing Op" :)

Im naming all of my future journals after movies I like. But other then that im just here paranoid hoping I dont get my door slammed in from ordering those beans, this is the biggest rush ive ever felt since my younger days hahahahahaha!!!! OMM told me he use to work for who ever so he said if they wanted to kick my door in then they wouldve been did it. That was kind of reassuring lol:laugh: Also picking up my Hortilux HPS bulb and order a couple things from flee bay. Other then that just patiently waiting.

Oh and im waiting on TG to update his journal so I can find out if his GDP turned out to be a male or not? That way I know what mine is :)

LOL ... that's funny. I wouldn't sweat the seeds.

I know what you mean about the waiting game. It really sucks.

Sorry guys no updates yet, Im thinking about vegging for another week or until my new beans get here. Only new thing is all the 20 million tops grew back in and I turned my co2 back on. Which from what ive been seeing with the humidifier and co2 working together IDK why the F I turned it off:hmmmm: Plants seriously grow faster with co2 and the right room temp and RH, also soil temp. CO2 helps take up more nutrients so the more the better. We all knew that though. Any who, pretty much just making food for them today for tomorrow and transplanting a couple new clones. I moved the male plant out of my main grow room, ill just get pollen from him that way. I dont feel like cleaning the grow room for my new beens and I may miss a spot and they end up pregnant :)

Also im thinking about adding a DWC part to my 5 gallon buckets. Top bucket is filled with soil/coco croutons. And theres a 2nd bucket up under. Pretty much I top feed but since theres roots coming from the bottom of the first bucket i will pretty much tend to them to. 2 ways of feeding the roots. More roots the better. I need to go pick up a few things if I do this.

PS The plants are looking great. I got the youngest one to be real bushy. I think I will do a quick update.:high-five:

pictures?

Less smoking ..... more journaling ..... LOL .......
