5 days old seedlings yellowing

Good news. My heart couldnt separate the baby girls. I keep the 4 of them. I watered just now the 2 of them which are 1 week old today. I gave them half litre each. While i was watering them near the stem i see them leaning on the side. This means there is no root develpment right?

yes, you could straighten them up ....

Hello , 1/2 hr after lights come on , don't water before light off as the plants aren't taking in nutes they are sending back down the unused fluids to the roots .they suck up on lights on and send back at lights out , other wise the roots just sit in water and can lead to root rot .or it just gets wasted and runs off.

Hello friend! Thanks for letting me know. My problem is that i can water them 1 hour after the light kick on, because of my work. Im sure its not that bad right?

This is just for photo period growing? .... what about where lights are never off, as with auto flowering? I know that many folks go with 4 or 6 hrs of dark according to their personal beliefs but I have seen seed bank recommendations to leave lights on 24/7 for maximum harvest.

I run them 20/4 and they are autos. Have you done any auto grows?

just doing my first one now, light on 24/7. haven't grown in quite a long while, am amazed at the results seen in these forums with the hempy grows. Learning new tricks... always grew in plain old dirt back in the day....

All the best my friend. They told me that autos are not that strong as the normal plants. I guess only by growing yourself you can know for sure.

I have seen great results with 18/6. Why would you go up the electric bill so much?

we are talking about 2 totally different grow types here, outside vs a indoor pot grow I was saying the best time to water on a indoor grow is with lights on , you can water any time depends on your lighting routine , yes with only a 4 hr lights off period that is fine but a 12/12 routine makes this a different story .plus I would just run 24/0 as the 4 hrs I didn't find made a difference , I did a auto grow with a 18/6 flower grow time line and that was successful , I don't think 4 hrs really makes much of a difference .-maybe saves some hydro but that's about it .

Autos are a great plant to grow they just don't allow the veg time to get into a lot of things like super-cropping ,topping etc and plants tend to be a little shorter and tend to yield a little less but they allow you to have more grows per year and I find they tend to be a tiny bit better on the flavor side but not as potent .

Plus that in the summer temps the 6 hours between 12:00 - 18:00 can save you of heat issues and less air condition usage. So far i think im on a good track with my baby girls. My concern now is that the 2 of them are kind of outside of the reflector light and they are leaning their stem on the side to get more light. The leaves are not pointing up ☝ so this means they have enough light but because they are little bit out of the reflector zone they make this zik zak on their stem, kinda like this dymbol -> ( i hope i make sense

Woohoo. Long live the autos :ganjamon:

If you are at 4hrs off , then go to the six hrs off and you don't want leaves pointing up you want them stretched straight out from the stem to receive the light ,a flat surface .

Absolutely. Things people say have to be taken with a grain of salt. If an auto strain seed is grown by traditional regular/normal seed methods the results could be much different than by using methods tailored to the strain being grown.

As a dirt farmer my mindset had been that hydroponics were not worth the effort. With hybrid plants my mindset has changed. As a recently retired telecommuter (started in the days of 300 baud modems) I am good on a keyboard and using the internet for research. My current position on autos is that better control via variable/customized hydro nutrient mixing may be necessary to give the plant an equal footing with other methods, especially with all the genetic experimentation going on. The hempy growing method is like a 'Hydro for Dummies' exercise to have some fun with.

My sig has the link to my experiment which is using a <$30 full spectrum light and Fox Farm hydro nutes. I just started a small fan to give some stimulation. This plant has to stay small as I am renting until May when I can move back to my rural house and start a perpetual grow. If it shows female (couple weeks yet) I need to decide whether I can deal with the odor or to dump it or search for foster care. The seeds were free with some others I am saving for May, they are not the smoke I prefer so I have a cheapo hempy experiment to play with. There is a 2nd more recent seedling too, with which I'll vary the nutrient profile, just for fun.
