5 days old seedlings yellowing

Yeah, but don't freak, it's common and correctable!
What type of lights are you using?
I have 600w mh running on 250w. My temp is stable at 22.5 celcious and 65% humid. I just measured the plant and its 7cm. Its 5 days old. So now i understand that is stretched right? I lowered the light and praying to stop the stretching.

OK...Stretching is spotted with those long, lanky stems that can barely support the top and looks like it might bend over or break:

For a 250w MH, you should be able to get that about 25-30cm or LESS from the plants with no issues:

BTW...If you can put your hand at the level of the plants and it doesn't seem too warm, it will probably be fine for the plants. Heat will be an issue long before light will be! ;)

So i guess now its too late. I have stretched them. I hope they dont get too tall at the end. Ofcourse i will give them spme training after but until then i need to keep them in the right place

It's only too late when they keel over! There is no real damage done, at all! They're just letting you know they want more light. Just give them what they're asking for and they'll be fine! ;)

The extra height at this point won't even be noticeable at harvest!

Thanks once more my friend. Excellent chart. I can lower the light even to 15 cm according to this. Fuck i was at 40-45...What a noobie :p

Yes, but do NOT jump down that close right away! Move it to about 25cm, make sure the plants don't show any signs of stress, then tomorrow you can lower it more. Baby steps is better! ;)

BTW, your distance of 45cm would have been fine IF you were running the light at 600w! This is why I was repeating earlier that, you can lower the wattage and lower the lights and save electricity. When the plants get too big (if that happens in veg), you can up to 600w, which means you'll need to raise the lights further from the plants to avoid burning them, but the light will now shine on more floor space since it's higher up. Just no sense in shining the light on floor when there's no leaves in between to make use of the light, which is why I recommended the lower watts at lower distance. ;)

it all makes sense now. Allright. I will go slowly with the light and i hope the other 2 babies which have just sprouded will not take the stretch.

Vtwin its the syndrome of the first time grower :D I thought i was having deficien issues. But it turned out that Mr. Krip has spotted another issue with the light distance. Im more than happy starting this thread and getting knowledge from experience growers.

Hello , stretching is ok at this young of a plant just don't let them get any taller , they need to strengthen the stems and grow a larger root ball to support all the leaf growth they will have at the top , that is when they will topple over, if you up the watts to 400 and move the light 6 inches down and then 4-5 days later move it down another 4-5 inches till you are about 18-20 inches away , watch the plants for lightening of color -lime green , then move the light up 2-3 inches and keep a close eye on the temps don't exceed 80 degrees and 50 - 60 %Rh is perfect for veg I always inspect my plants at least a couple of times a day , for stretching, yellowing , tip burns, deformed leaf shapes , exposed roots from watering , seedling need the most tlc and as they get older the plants develop different problems , usually nutes problems and ph problems .

Hey Noobienot, i will stick to the 250w usage for now. I am at 8 inches away from the plants. I lower the reflector last night and this morning i see that my plants are not pointing up anymore. I keep a good eye on their development so if they get any taller i will have to make more adjustment like switching to 400w at 10 inches. On my second thinking i think 4 big pots are not suitable for my reflector because of their size they are not in the centre of the light so im losing light in the seedlings stage.

I always run 2 lights in my 4x4x8 tent once they get a little bigger , usually 2- 600 watt m.h dialed down to 400 watts at about 18 inches for veg or 1 m.h hid at 400 watts and a 900 watt led , depending if I am growing indica`s or sativa`s and how much they start to stretch , all I do is keep the same for flower but just change to a h.p.s. bulb instead .I usually grow only 2 different strain in the same tent but I try to keep them all the same type of plant meaning all 4 are some kind of indica or sativa dominate strain ,but not both , I like to keep it simple but effective .

I am sure you found your special dial in setup on how to grow and this is what makes growing this plant one of the best hobbies to have in your life. You start from the bottom and building your way up to perfection and there is always more to do and more to learn. Having 2 x 600w is what i had in mind when buying my tent but it will be after long time. For now i have to understand how these autoflowers are going to thrive under 1 x 600w. I am very worried for now that i should remove 2 of the pots and continue with only the other 2 pots which the plants have the same age and height. I am really in deep thoughts because i feel i dont use the full potential of my reflector with 4 pots. Whats your opinion on having 2 plants to grow?

It all depends on the size of your grow space. Ultimately, you want to fill that up as much as possible. You can do more smaller plants or fewer larger plants. If doing fewer larger plants, you want to train horizontally to make sure you fill up the space. If you're paying to run the tent, you may as well maximize the yields!

Here's a pic of my packed space from a few days ago:

The plants can douible or even triple in height once they start flowering. You're running autos, so you won't really have control on when they start to flower.

Since you have four there, now, I'd keep the four. If needed, trim the smaller/weaker branches on one to make room for a bulkier cola on another and let those four just fill up your space for you.

Mr Krip hello there! I salute your glorious tent. Good work there. Almost at the finish. You must be really happy . I really dont know what to do yet. I will see maybe i will keep 3 or all of them or just 2. I want to follow a-trains growing style with autos. He always growing 2 of them and get good yields. I guess i need to get in the tent and see how 2 pots look under the light and then deside or just forget everything and just go with 4. In anyway i have to take a decision tonight.
