Hello 420 friends and family!
Here we are for another foray into the wonderful world of weed! Things have changed again for this grow...prior to this grow I have been a fan of HID and LED lights. They have treated me well, but I wanted to try up my quality and quantity in the same space, and I hope I found the way to get it done. CMH and HID fixtures in a well ventilated room. This time we have 2 315w CMH, and a 600w HID. 1260 watts of pure fire. In addition to that, we picked up some new strains.

Wedding Cake

White Widow

Dosido F2

Sherbado

The Wedding Cake and White Widow come from a seed shop in holland, the Dosido F2 and Sherbadough clones come from Archive in Portland OR.

Going to stick with 5 gallon pots and Fox Farms soils. CANNA line for the nutrients.

As far as ventilation goes, took a big step here. I have always used snail fans, but wanted something quieter and that moves more air, so I went with an in-line Panasonic Whisper Quiet 440 CFM unit. That fan is connected to a inkbird temp controller, and turns on at 80 degrees, and stays on until we get below 75, then turns off until temp is hit again. When the lights are off, there is a small oil filled radiator that comes in when we get below 70, and takes us up to 74. So far the balance has made for some happy ladies! Last change is I raised the ceiling about 15” to allow for taller colas and more room for filtration, fire suppression, and fans.

The white widow and wedding cake are grown from seed, feminized. I dropped a bean of each and only the WW popped. Then I dropped 2 more WC, and an additional WW. All of those took off, and have been pretty happy!

I took a round of clones from each of the Archive strains, and have some seeds from the other strains remaining to grow in the future. My last grow, as some know and some don’t, was hit with hermie fever about half way through. It took 4 of the 6 plants I was growing out (the seeds I grew were not my best choice). Ended up with 2 good plants that produced well, but it wasn’t as strong or compact as I like.

The desire for change and want to grow better smoke always seems to be the beginning of something fun for me, this has been no different.

This grow started out in my little grow/clone box under a modified mars reflector 96. I replaced the drivers with dimmable ones, and added dimmer dials. Once the little ones have graduated out of this space they go into their final pots, and into the main grow room.

When I originally moved them, I was still using the LED lights inside vented hoods from my last grow. I switched to the 315w CHM fixtures, and there is so much more light in here, the plants have reacted really well.

I defoliate every couple weeks, including once a few days before the flip to flower. A week and a half into flower I like to do a major defol to give the buds a nice boost, but we will get there in a couple weeks.

As far as where we are in the timeline now, I flipped the garden to flower this morning, tomorrow morning I will swap the bulb in the 600 to HPS. Started bloom nutes and put up the. If charcoal filter this morning but ran out if time to swap the bulb. Oh well.

Thank you, and welcome!

Tuesday Update! Over the last 2 days, the hedge has grown, almost 2” in some places. Going to be raising the lights sooner than planned, which is not a bad thing...Cheers!

Good Morning! I really enjoy this part of the grow, THE STRETCH! To me, this is where we find out if we planned our gardens right, if we did enough research to maximize our space with out sacrificing quality for size. I guess we will see, but already things are moving along! The tallest plant had to move from below the 600w to below one of the 315w lights as it will get too tall. The 315w lights can raise 10 inches higher than the 600w. The shortest plant, WW1, has decided short isn’t fun, and has started shooting for the lights, quickly taking over about half the others. I’m sure the rest are soon to follow. Everything is just buzzing with excitement, including me:)
