420's Canuk Seeds Comparative Grow By Absorber

It's interesting how much bigger the hydro plants are. Do you think the SIPs will catch up? :hmmmm: I wonder if they'll finish at the same time?:hmmmm: This is really a great comparison.:):bong:
The SIP's would have been a lot bigger but i kinda stuffed the soil blend up a little bit and it took me a little bit to correct it enough for them to start growing again so its probably not the best comparison.
They will definitely be finishing at different times as I've only flipped the hydro tent and I will let the SIP's go until the tent fills out some more😊
Thanks for dropping in👍

What a sight bro looking beautiful 👌 hydro tent Is locked and loaded 🔥🔥
Yea going pretty good, light is off at the moment and I just adjusted the pH of the reservoir and something feels a little off with the bell syphon and I can't check tent at the moment so I'm going to have to wait another 3hrs before I can see if the roots have entered the drain pipes past the screens 🤔

🤞 Everythings all good bro.. I'm pulling roots out of my return every week 🤣🤣 you give them a home but it's never good enough! Women aye 🙄🤣🤣

Yea its getting to them that's going to be interesting , with a scrog net and only having access to one side of the tent.

Make Sure you record it for our entertainment 😉😁
My nets been up an down like a yo-yo just trying to spray them thoroughly! I make Tom cruise look stupid 🤣
Thats the screen setup in my buckets

And that's the roots that made it through the screen into the return pipe causing bell syphon to turn off pre maturely before buckets drained.
Each plant has a large root system, it was hard enough getting in there to unblock the pipes and screen to bother trying to take a photo of them I could only slide the bucket lids sideways 3 inches so I couldn't lift them to get a shot.

This seems to be the pattern in all the sub-irrigated systems I've seen, including the swicks. The roots ignore whatever medium they have when there is available water to colonize. They go straight for the water and the easy nutes.
What do you plan to do about it?

I'll just let it ride it took 49 days to do it so I will just keep an eye on it ,I half expected it to happen i will probably have to clear it again before flowering finishes

I bet that was a job! Looks like a handful from each pot. Do you still think the guards are beneficial? It's alot more difficult for you as your drain hole is smaller so water is pulled through with pressure the roots will literally dive for it. Was the roots climbing your guard?

Yes

Yea it has a 20mm drain that's the idea of the screen to try and slow the water by having a larger surface area as it passes through then on the other side it speeds up syphoning into pipe , I kinda knew I'd have to clean screen a little bit . I feel I'd have more roots in pipe without screen, like you said they'd chase the faster flowing water
Was the roots climbing your guard?
They only went through the bottom 3-4 inches of screen.
It wasn't hard to clean roots from screen and pipe, I just pulled roots from the screen then slid screen up 4 inches and pulled roots from the pipe then slid screen back down and slid bucket lid back across.
And repeat another 3 times

Co got another sister 🤣🤣
Yes she’s the younger of twins. You know her real name - go one letter before 🤣 Really. The first two twin girls are One and Two. All non identical. & Co’s sister probably wouldn’t fit in the tent 😂 & Co out of the seven sisters is a totally different pheno. Way way darker skin, smaller, and not fat or stupid!

That makes perfect sense 👌I just see it as a shield but didn't think about it affecting the flow. 😎

You better be super nice to me Nick as one slip up this information could become a weapon 🤣🤣 6 sisters! And I'll be on the other side of the world like  🤣🤣 Your just lucky snitching was beaten out of us as kids Rule 1 🤣🤣🤣

Good to hear that rule applies in your country. It’s one of the first things taught in Chicago. Like they say in Good Fellas, you keep your mouth shut and never snitch on your friends.lol CL🍀.   :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thailand has a super high crime solving rate. They all snitch on each other. Families shop their Mum and Dad the cops they think there’s a reward in it! 😅

Luckily I didn’t write anything & Co doesn’t tell them each time they call up asking for money off her 😂

Hey Sorbs - I was reading something about Netafim irrigation dripped last night. Just thought how it might apply to you and GV

The irrigation and DWC suppliers have rules for it apparently. This applies to my needs which is to prevent particles entering the 3mm feed tubes so appreciate its different.

I bought these which top right corner look like they’re in the correct range:

So far so coco growing with automated irrigation.

But I started looking at what other people were doing on the smaller scale and the best thing that I read was

“A 5 gallon paint strainer for $2 from Bunnings, wrap it inside the pot with your airstone inside that and never get root clogs again”

From another board. Might have added Bunnings in my self 😄

The roots are gonna go with the water flow aren’t they? The current will take them there So once they block that section in front of the exit pipe the water can still flow into the “moat” section from other sides of the pot.

If you just covered the pipe section it’ll clog and you’ll have to cut them (which is fine) but you have a “Nick’s DMZ Moat™ System” then problem solved?

Nick with 6 Sisters in Law 😅
