Another particularly challenging month I see. Oh well, here goes. I'd like to enter my Phantom OG by Barneys Farm. She was a great strain to grow providing an almost hassle free experience. She's not quite dry yet so I can't comment on her taste and potency but she smells great. It's a sweet OG with candy undertones. Good luck everyone....

Great job!

That's why I like these contests ... I get to see strains I've never heard of before!

Well gonna give this another go for my plant that just finished as last month she still had a few weeks left. This was in my 3x3 tent Scrog under a new custom LED i built with a few supplement lizard bulbs for missing spectrum. GH flora nutrients Pineapple express, Final dry weight was 529 grams of fruity, sticky... awesomeness. Cheers

Pinapple Express ... a classic now!

A little more practice and I'm hoping for those kinda results!

Let me try again with a shot of my 5 foot tall Red Diesel from @Barney's Farm . Almost twice as tall as the description on their site describe!

I love those outside grows!

And the puppy is protecting the plant from the cats :)

Awesome! Did you cross that yourself from the two strains?

I hope to do that in about a year or so ... once we've found a few strains we really like ...

Yep! That's one of my five personal strains that I created over a decade ago.:blunt:

Do you ever get any colorful phenos?

I've seen a few colorful phenos of this particular strain over the years but nothing compared to Woody's plants or others growers here.

Nice ... I'm about to try coco for the first time for the Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

Up until now I've been using soil ... have you tried coco and soil yet? Which do you prefer?

I tried almost all of the growing mediums. I can say that coco coir is the way to go for me. Inside hydro tanks, pH goes up very fast. But in coco or rockwool or some other hydro mediums, you can water your medium for like 3-4 times a day. You can regulate the pH by adding a little bit more pH down every time. Also coco is reusable or easy to dispose, compared to heavy soil. That can be a big plus.

Instead of smaller yields from soil, any hydro system would provide bigger yield and plants. Some people claim that taste is better when you grow your plants in soil but I don't think that is a fact. I have tried organic or non-organic soil grows as well as bioponics and non-organic hydro grows. Taste and quality can be perfect in both.

Using a hydroponic medium would allow you to control everything inside your medium. If you are not familiar with your strain or you have a lack of knowledge about how they grow, then you might want to skip these detailed calculations that coco coir brought up and just go with the soil, which will make most of these calculations for you. Personally I mix %80 coco with %20 perlite and use a top layer of extra perlite. I like it when my medium dries fast. I like watering several times a day but I also let coco dry after every flush. I will be flushing with Florakleen every 15-20 days as a part of my recent feeding schedule. Final flush will take 48 hours and an extra 48 with lights off.

I am now trying General Organics Flora Coco series with Ripen and Florakleen. These nutrients have fair amounts of minerals in them so I am not using a lot of products. These are not organic btw. and it is the first time I am growing in coco without organic nutrients. Plants are thriving like crazy atm. I think you can try this nutrient line as well because it is pretty straightforward to use. I am boosting this line with Canna Cannazym, Biobizz BioHeaven and Advanced Nutrients Voodoo Juice, Piranha and Tarantula. I will add General Hydroponics BioBloom on flowering as a bloom booster and Ripen for the last week. If you choose to grow in soil, I recommend Canna Terra Vega and Terra Flores line. This line always have produced the best tasting cannabis in my experience.

Cheers :passitleft:

Coco, or any other drain to waste hydroponics system is a lot of work. I feed most of my plants 2 cups (500ml) twice a day from late veg to harvest. I currently have a plant that needs a quart or liter three times per day. The addition of an automatic watering system has reduced the workload lower than that of any other growing system.

Awesome! I am going to start my first coco grow tomorrow and I will looking for journals to read through ... so I will put yours on my ToRead list.

I'm glad you flush your coco ... there seems to be a lot of confusion on flushing, no flushing and giving just water after flushing.

Chat with you again in a bit when I start browsing your grows for info :)
