I find this concept of a comparative grow intriguing because it would be interesting to compare my pragmatic,
not minimalistic, stripped-down grow system to those who employ every gadget and additive available.
I thought I was a minimalist grower, but several people over time have pointed out that things like my Mega Light etc., are anything but minimalistic, so I came to realize I’m not a minimalistic grower instead I’m a pragmatic grower. D'oh!
prag·ma·tist/praɡmədəst/noun
1.a person who is guided more by practical considerations than by ideals.
2.PHILOSOPHY -an advocate of the approach that evaluates theories or beliefs in terms of the success of their practical application.
The consensus on this site seems to be that to grow cannabis, one needs a tent with charcoal filters and fans and multipart nutrient systems etc. My approach over the last couple of years on this site has been to try to eliminate anything superfluous, and I have found that just about everything is precisely that. I use the cheapest one-part nute I can find, the cheapest medium, I don’t adjust my water pH, I don’t use any fans, I don’t water enough to ever get any runoff, I never flush, I don’t have a tent, or charcoal filters, etc.
I think it would be intriguing to put my simple system up against more complex, costly systems and see if they are worth the price and hassle. I’m curious myself, which is why I would like to be part of the comparative grow.
I also enjoy making a nice journal. Have a look at my latest post in my current journal.
Looks ready to me. Definitely lots of amber.
