Day 42/32 Veg

WeeGrow is sending me a replacement new light. They think it could have been damaged to the resistor from shipping. The plants are taking off after their water last night. Will have to transfer them to the other tent tomorrow! :surf:

Thanks to all the sponsors again (see below in my signature) for providing seeds and nutrients! I am trusting the instructions on the nutrient applications and it’s working well and takes the guesswork out of feeding my plants :) The watering person through I don’t feel like I quite trust - needs instructions too :reading420magazine:

Hell yeah! Stoked to hear that. I honestly did not want to come off like a prick but I really didn't want to see you using that light. Just seemed too risky in my opinion. Excellent of WeeGrow to replace it too!

Day 44 (34 in Veg):

Yesterday, I cleaned my 4x4x6.5 grow tent (vacuumed, then wiped everything down with lightly bleached water). I replaced the carbon filter sock and the Evap Humidifier filter. Set everything back up - hoping there are no pollen spores hiding from my prior grow.

Then I up-potted the 4 GSC girls from their 1 gallon to 3 gallon cloth pots.

My FFHF soil was moist. I usually dump the bag in a storage bin and leave the top cracked and till it every so often. This time though one of my family members covered it and it sat for a few weeks closed up.

I prepared soil for each pot individually. Mixing the prescribed amounts of Dynomyco, Earth Alive Soil Activator and GeoFlora Veg. I mixed a bit of PH balanced water into each pot and them removed about 1/2 the soil from the pot (keeping in another pot) and then removed the girls from their fat 1 gallon pots. The soil was dry (more than I expected) and some fell off the top and bottom but not around the root ball. The roots weren’t sticking out or bound. I put the root ball in the new pot and covered it with the soil. I had to support two of the stalks with bamboo pole as they had a slight tilt. I then watered around the edges of the plant a little and placed them in their new home.

They look amazing and I think will be happy to have more space and less heat from the light which I now have about 18” from the tallest plants top.

Will add pics tonight after I get home. :420:

Check out the plant grown with all the sponsors stuff vs runt and her other small sister grown under a T5 and with minimal nutrition. What a huge difference!! Thanks again to all the sponsors for showing me what’s possible :)

Day 46 from germination/Day 36 Veg

The girls are 2 days post up-potting to 3 gallon cloth pots. I didn’t water them a lot at transplant so gave them a full watering today. Hopefully not too much. Every time I water this strain the plants leaves and stems really sag for a few hours and then start to perk back up. I’ve even seen this happen if the pots are really dry and I just give them a small amount of water so it’s not the amount of water that does it. They continue to look pretty healthy except for one plant (#2) that has two leaves with some issues. The rest of that plant looks great and new growth looks good. Will be interesting to see how they do with fresh soil, dry organic nutrients and mycorrhizae.

Weather has gotten hot and the tent is getting a bit hotter during the day. I try to control the heat with my house A/C, evap humidifier and a 6” exhaust fan. These girls seem to tolerate 80-85F temps okay though except for some leaf cupping on newer growth.

Another issue is what looks like trips spots on the leaves. I can’t find anything bugs through a magnifying loop on the leaves. Last night, I added a layer of diatomaceous earth to the top soil of each plant and after the lights turned off for the night, I did a foliar spray of SNS-209.

Still plan to flip to flower in 6 more days if all goes well this week in Veg.

Loved Gumby and Poky as a kid! Plants are looking fairly healthy other than the leaves on the one. I'm afraid I have no idea why those leaves look like that but I felt I had to comment because of the Gumby. :battingeyelashes:

They are looking so good! I think I saw pest damage on mine today too. Not positive what it could be though. I'm doing foliar SNS209 and drenches too. As soon as the effective period begins, anything that munches on the plants will die. So I'm not too worried about it honestly. Maybe, yours are already using the SNS209 and it killed whatever munched on yours?!

I found a DVD of Gumby episodes that I got for my kids when they were little - I still get a kick out of watching it!

I keep hoping that’s the case too. I think the leaf issues could be heat/humidity stress. I have to be super vigilant now that our temps are 100+ and it’s super dry where I live. I’m going to move a portable Evap cooler onto the sunroom where my tents reside.

I looked at a bunch of images and pictures this afternoon on leaf issues and think this plant has a magnesium deficiency. Maybe the GeoFlora Veg wasn’t getting into the plant because of a watering issue while I was away last weekend. Hoping after the transplant and fresh nutes and water it will be okay. I’m careful to keep my PH between 6-7. Usually aiming for 6.5.

Day 47 - 37 in Veg

Happy Sunday All :thumb:

The quad girls are doing great. I decided to scrog the tops of a couple of tall super nodes! I also raised the light - I think I had it too low - was seeing the leaves cup a bit. I can still go higher with it but will need to scrounge up an extension cord. I also did a little clipping - trimmed some bottom branches that probably won’t make it to the light when I flip to flower and removed a couple of large fan leaves that were blocking light to some potential tops. I cut off the leaves on #2 that were suffering. Hopefully she will bounce back from whatever deficiency she had. She looks okay today - has a couple of mid level leaves with slight yellowing. Pokey decided to settle in under #3 - my shortest but bushiest little girl. They smell very skunky and I can see Trichomes on her leaves. Exciting to flip them to flower in 5 more days.

Looking pretty good to be honest as you grow your experience gains, I can see that in your chosen words.

My own grow has had temps up to and around 30c or mid to late late 85 to 90f due to weather conditions effecting ambient heat of the property or grow room with similar effects to the fan leaf's as of yours !

These sort of temps will effect how quickly your pots dry out.

So a fine line can drawn between well watered & to dry, will need to be learnt with these lovelies which can deal with a little either side for a short while aka few etc days but not on the dry side.

When the soil, compost or what ever chosen term you use becomes to dry the wicking or absorbing nature is lost to some degree you may experience extra run off.

At this point the pot is very light to physical lift as in total weight.

Regular watering my occur abnormal run off of extra water & at this point you really need to sit the pot in a tray of water for a few hours or more to rehydrate the growing medium.

Thanks Fuzzy - I’m obsessed with learning to grow - reading lots of journals and have a couple of Youtubers that I’ve been watching to learn from.

Day 48 - 38 in Veg;
Pots are still heavy from last watering. No additional signs of thrips damage. Actually, don’t see any gnats caught on the sticky boards. The tops are really in full veg mode. I’m not really scrogging where I’m cutting off tops but just bending the tall tops under the trellis to let the lower tops and future bud sites get more light.

Have another plant though with showing a stress issue on mid level large fan leaves. Will snip them off. Hope it doesn’t continue to move up to the gorgeous top growth! They are 4 days post up-pot transplant and getting their fresh supply of @Geoflora Veg. The white powder on the leaf in pic is diatomaceous earth.

4 more days to flip to flower if all is well then.
