So it's been a rough past few weeks. Unfortunately, the girls in the tent have been reciprocal with their vigor. I overly stressed them a couple times too many by not understanding their watering needs. Thankfully it was not enough watering instead of too much water. It seems to be a consistent issue for me as well. Thursday evening I did a bit of defoliating and another light soil drench. I am slowly adding more and more water every couple days to these final containers. I didn't want to do a full flooding of the soil quite yet. I want them to work their way up to being able to use that much water. Rotting roots scares the hell out of me. I find it MUCH easier for your plants to recover from underwatering than the over.

Yesterday, Friday morning, they looked to be heading in a more positive direction finally. That is the picture I have featured in this post. They were looking ragged for the past couple weeks. The definitely hit a wall in their growth though when I missed a couple waterings. I am in no hurry and only interested in seeing them recover fully before flipping to flower.

#8, my outdoor girl is just blowing up! I decided to do some light bending (supercropping) of most of the branches. After she recovers from this and more tops shoot up, I have to keep in mind the fence clearance. My goal is to not have any part of this plant exceed that height. I love checking in on this beautiful lady! The flowers that surround her are beautiful and she is just happy as can be. She is getting SNS209 foliar sprays every 4 days. She also got her first BT treatment to combat the caterpillars which I am now seeing on the plant. BT treatments will continue every 7 days until harvest.

I'm trying desperately to match their vigor in my own life. Staying afloat is the best way to describe where I'm at everyone. I am beyond grateful to this community and its sponsors. Thank you all for being here and helping us grow our medicine and helping us grow mentally. I will be doing my best to get back on track with closer to daily updates. I need to seriously get caught up on many others' journals as well. Terribly sorry for not staying in the loop with y'all. Take care of each other and look for blessings!

Well...2 days late for this update (7/31) but not much has changed other than they looked happier yesterday evening before lights out. I'll get an updated pic today though.

I decided to get some wires on these petite ladies in an attempt to spread them out some more. Here are some before and after pics. The last one, #9, is not nearly as droopy an unhappy as she was in these pics. LOL. She starting perking up yesterday finally.

These are actually from today!! I know...I know...I'm in as much disbelief as you...trust me!

I have been continuing the @Sierra Natural Science SNS209 in the drench and foliar. I started the SNSDC foliar today.

@Sierra Natural Science - Could you please confirm the frequency for using SNSDC for foliar applications. I could not find it on the bottle or website. I was hoping to get confirmation from you. Thank you.

As you can see, #9 is very sad. The others have recovered are looking better. I believe I overwatered her before the transplant and right after. I think there is enough moisture in the pot that she won't be ready for the top dress and drench that is due on Sunday. It will have to be a light drench either way.

Also, some pics from sexy #8 filling in perfectly (to me) and taking every supercrop, bend, and pinch like a champ. It is safe to say @Weed Seeds Express that these genetics like the California sun!

She got a foliar of SNS209, SNSDC, and some BT. BT will be applied every 7 days until harvest.

Almost all the tops are starting to look like this. Is this stage considered pre-flower? She's getting nearly 14 hours of light. Any wisdom would be appreciated.

Ignore the gorgeous @Weed Seeds Express Sexxpot on the left side of the garden. Nothing to see here...

Let's hope you're right about #9 and she has been overwatered. Then the solution to her problems is just to wait and don't do anything to her. Don't even look at her. Just see how she progresses.

Now, I'll admit that it will be hard to see how she progresses without looking at her. Maybe you could use mirrors. :laughtwo:

That outdoor lady is beautiful and she is surrounded by beauty! Wonderful scene! :Rasta:

Everyone got a topdress and drench today. I also did some defoliating to get rid of dead or weak leaves from the recovery process. My logic is I don't want them wasting any energy in repairing those leaves anymore. I pruned off a bunch of the foliage and baby buds in the inner canopy.

#1 got the biggest pruning of them all but i give her less than a week to fill back in. Here are some pics of the progress today. Some before shots and then after their haircuts.

#9 is looking much better the past couple days. As the pot was getting lighter, she was also improving. She also got a topdress and light drench. I hope she responds well to it.

I am taking detailed notes in my written journal. I'm just curious if you all want the specific watering quantities included on my updates? I'm just wondering what kind of journal most members here prefer. General/ generic updates or detailed?

I put on some Tribal Seeds and had some puffs of Jack Herer on my new pen. I really like the bigger battery for these pods.

DAY 84 - Not sure what day in flower I should say? I was thinking the start of week 2.

Here is a top cut I got to root outside in the greenhouse. I would say these roots are OK I guess... lol

I potted her up into a small terracotta pot with a 70/30 mix of bonsai soil and organic soil. You may be wondering what the big lump is and the plastic covering it in the last photo. Well...it is a surprise. You'll have to wait.

They all perked up and are looking better today.

@GrowTina & the two Bestva Pro1000 lights have been putting out some great light! Wanted to say thank you again for the opportunity to test this light for this comparative grow.

#1 - All the bud sites are looking bright and happy.

They are all looking good this morning! #9 has definitely bounced back. Also, a quick observation on my last watering and the self-watering container that #3 is in. I added an additional 1L to the basin of #3 and it's gone today! As in bone dry basin which means it likely sucked it all up by yesterday. Would you interpret that as I didn't water the other plants enough? I'm about to put another 1L in the basin to see what happens. What would you do? Give all the plants an extra drink anyway?

BakedARea, Looks like all are back on track. I know StoneOtter uses bark chips as mulch and you do similar. Why do you mulch like that? Cheers
Hey cr8. I like using mulch to keep my soil from drying out too quick on top. I have worms in every pot too. By keeping the mulch on there, it will keep moisture (and light) from getting to the soil surface. Encourages worms to work as high as possible in the soil.

You are going to love my next Grow Journal and Product Review. It will be in No-Till Living Soil. That's all I'm going reveal at this time. :)

Do you use any beneficial insects (rove beetles, nematodes, hypoaspis)?
Hey Brett! I have not used them specifically for indoor. I have always relied on inoculation of the soil with some of my own compost and worms. The worm bins RE loaded with soil mites and who knows that else that keeps the worms healthy. If they are healthy, then the soil is healthy is my logic.

For the past month, I have been struggling with heat in the tent. Often temps getting into the high 80s throughout the day. I think the plants definitely took some stress from that because I missed a couple waterings. Part of the problem was that I was only bringing in fresh air passively and exhausting straight into the garage. That also meant having those sections opened up on the tent. Well that can't work in flower if I have to keep light leaks out right?! Well, it was time to put procrastination aside and get this tent hooked up to go full stealth mode!

Yesterday, I FINALLY got the ventilation setup the way I wanted it. I have the exhaust hooked up to my furnace exhaust. I also have a 4 inch inline fan hooked up to bring in fresh air from an outdoor vent.

I put this fan in front of the intake to help move the fresh air more efficiently.

Doing this has obviously dropped my temps down considerably! The colder air from outside and the heat from the lights have me down in the high 70s and hovering around 80° for most of the morning thus far. My concern is the colder nights heading into fall when the lights are off. Last night the tent dropped into the low 60s. Should I be concerned? I imagine the temp drops like that help the flowering process?? How do you manage your air intake and temps?

I was thinking of setting up a timer and thermostat on the 4" inline fan to only come on if temps are above say 70°. Then setup another fan to bring in air from the garage setup on a thermostat too.

Anyway...some updates pics from the past few days. They are all recovering beautifully! Really shows the vigor of these genetics. @Weed Seeds Express and @420 took a chance on a newbie indoor grower and there have been some ups and downs along the way. Just keeping my chin up and trusting the genetics and products I'm using.

Yesterday all the indoor plants got another foliar treatment of @Sierra Natural Science SNS209 AND SNSDC. The outdoor plants got the same but with BT added for caterpillars.

This morning and #3 is the best looking plant out of the bunch.

I have not been able to be on this forum as much lately. I do apologize to the community for having to take a step back. I've been doing my best to keep the plants healthy and happy. I'm so thankful that I've got to this point. At the rate they are going now, I anticipate flipping to flower by next weekend. What does everyone else think? Should I give them more time to grow out and train for more tops to fill out the tent? Or just make the switch?

I also wanted to give another shout out to @GeoFlora Nutrients and their generosity with the comparative grow! I have not supplemented with any other nutrients since I have started this grow. Unless you count a few epsom salt foliar treatments a few weeks back. Other than that, I just trusted the process and let the plants figure it out. The balance of excellent soil and nutrients really do make such a huge difference. Learning the breakdown process and anticipating the time needed for the fungi and microbes to work is an important lesson learned!

Blessings to you all and may our gardens fill our souls with tranquility and vigor.
