42 Year Old Bag Seed!

Buck, Thanks for the concern about my treatments, I too am glad they are done. I have been kicking cancers ass for about 18 yrs now and its old hat now. My first fight started out with a small brown spot on my arm that got ugly over time so when I went to the Drs I found out it was Melanoma(Dr said I wasn't using sunblock when fishing). It toook 2 yrs to get that straighten out. Next came testicular and Liver cancer and took both testicles and 1/2 my liver but again I kicked its ass.

Then came Melanoma again. This time I had new Dr(present one)and after getting a better history and diagnosis it came down to good ole Agent Orange(Me and Uncle Sam still arn't on speaking terms about that) but again I kicked its ass and kept on kicking. This last bout is breast cancer (You get a lot of weird looks when you tell people you have breast cancer and you are a man) and again my Dr thinks its from AO. I go back in 4 weeks and if it hasn't been kicked out I get a mastectomy. I told the Dr and wife that if that happens I want to get replacements so I can look like Pam Anderson and really mess with peoples minds!!!!!!!!! The wife said "No problem! We will get you a bandaid and a shoe string for your bathing suit when you go out on the boat."

Got a question. As you can see Runt has some huge fan leaves, even on the colas. The question is, should I cut them or trim them to allow more light into the colas or should I leave well enough alone?

I prefer to leave them ... the plant knows what to do.

others will tell you I am crazy

Re: Thai Stick

That is because Thai sticks were usually dipped in opium. I remember a batch back in the 70s that knocked my dick in the dirt! :tokin:
This bring back any memories? :cheesygrinsmiley: this is by far the most powerful cannabis I have ever smoked ...

Howdy all,

Said in my last post that this is clean the box day and I would try to get better pictures up. Well here they are.

If you look close you can see they are starting to frost. Most of the pictures are of Runts colas. If it keeps going the way it is I'm hoping to harvest in 3-4 weeks. Sorry about the quality of the pictures but its the best I can do with this camera.

Dirty, buckshot is right, leave them leaves on the plant they are the engines of the little girl. Removing fan leaves (healthy) during growth is not a good thing. Removing (or pinching off some) fan leaves as a form of stress to increase resin production in the last 2-6 days (depends on who you ask) is a technique I have used to great results in the past. It stops growth and flower size for the last week but increases your gland production exponentially. I have used it as a form of stress on outdoor plants every time I have grown and when you look at colas side by side with unstressed plants, you can visually see a difference.

I am super excited to watch these girls finish. How much longer do you think they have? Are you going to harvest buds and turn them back to 18/6 to re-veg them and hope for better clones this time? You could conceivably keep these genetic alive through clones for another 42 years!!!

Ask if they had been watering them and what does Mom in law say? "yes! and we even added tea to them for you"

"What kind of tea?" I ask.

"Liptons" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahhahahahahaha

Well the plants were thirsty DUHHHHHHHH. lolllllllllllllllllllllllll

9/19/12 Update

Well I offically ran out of room to raise the lights! It is also the 3 month aniversary of the first seed popping!!!!!!:thumb:

First things first though. I want to thank all of you that have helped and commented on my journal and grow. Without the help and encouragement I do believe that all I would have ended up with is 4 soggy planters and a lot of aggrivation. Again, Thank you:thanks:

Now about the plants. unless I start bending limbs again I cant keep Harriet from burning tops! If I start bending limbs then a bunch of her buds are going to be shaded. I do wish I would have known more about scroging when she was smaller. As for Runt, she just keeps getting bushier colas. The 2 largest colas are now 7 inches long and about 2 1/2 inches round. I looked at Harriets and Runts colas under a 50X microscope and they are starting to frost a little with trichomes (I use the 50x because Im old and half blind). :) I would love to know about how much Runts colas weigh. I had to place sticks around her branches to help hold the larger colas up. They were bending due to the weight. I also noticed that her pistils are starting to turn brown. Not much but enough to see it happening.

Harriet I dont think will have large nuggs, just a bunch of smaller ones because they are not filling out just getting more of them. She is also still stretching!!!! Just what I love, a woman with legs!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I hear those voices out there! "What about Mini and Ozzie!! We wanna hear bout them". Ok they are still out on the porch and growing nicely. They both are showing nugs but very very small. Mini-monster it one of the wierdest looking plants you have ever seen. I would say 90% of its leaves only have 3 leaves and some of the fan leaves look wierd because there is only one half or the other. It will grow the main leaf of a cluster but then only have one leaf out the side(I'll have to take a picture of it). Even though, it is about 4 foot tall and still getting taller and is showing pistils on the ends of the limbs. As for Ozzie, she is like Harriet in that she is still stretching but she too has a lot of smaller nugs. Since putting her on the porch she has almost straightened out where she had been LSTed.

I took a couple of pictures before posting so I'll shut up and post them.

Looking pretty :thumb:

OTD the girls are looking really good. Is there any way of making a different hanging device so you can get more height. I would suck to disturb the buds. If the first picture is of the light I would be mounting the light on the ceiling and get rid of the chains. :thumb:

I love the provenance of your beans. To be seeing the buds of the daughters of what you smoked 42 years ago should be the plot of a mini-series or a film!:thumb:

Tremendous stuff OTD going to enjoy the remaining episodes, I'm sure you are planning a further series or two? (No pressure of course)

Aj, Oh there are always sequels!!!!!!!!! I have more seeds so I will be doing more grows and hoping I get atleast 1 male to carry on the tradition.

WestBlunt, Thanks

Beemer, The light is in the box and I tried to get rid of the chains but that supports the the light so no preasure on the wires. I will be tucking in some branches(no choice) but will do it with lots of care so that the ladies get what they need. I am trying to talk the wife into sacrificing a closet but that is going to be one tough row to hoe.

you could posibly super crop her just a thought

you could posibly super crop her just a thought

Too late to supercrop? I would probably just give them a hair cut underneath...trim the scraggly-est 1/3 off the bottom of all the branches, leave all of the fan leaves, just cut growing shoots back to the stem and let them concentrate on feeding the top 2/3 of buds... should result in larger yield and denser buds...just my $0.02

When I started this grow I sent samples or both my soil and of the tea that I would be using on the plants to the state Dept of Agriculture for testing. The first results showed that the soil was at a ph of 6.8 with N=3.0, P=1.3, K=1.44 and the tea was N=3.2, P=1.1, K=1.5 with PH at 6.77.

Today I got back the results that I sent them a couple of weeks ago. Soil was; Ph=6.83 with N=3.0, P=1.1, K=1.55, salts(I asked for testing)=.007/cubic yard(which they state was average for soil watered with ground water/well). Tea was N=3.0, P=1.22, K=1.7.

The reason I am posting this is that I have been wondering if I should do a flush due to salt buildup. This test sort of relieved the worries I was having because in the past I have had the plants go into shock after flushing and one of the things I wanted to eliminate was that shock and told them that when I sent in the samples for testing. Who ever did the test states on the comment section that "Your use of red worms in the soil and their castings have helped in maintaining a rich soil with balanced nutrient load, oxygen suppliment, microbe enrichment. Any salts build up have been decreased by normal watering with good draining in association with the interaction of the red worms maintaining a loose soil without compaction. Your nutrient suppliment is within the guidelines set by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture for use of food plants and comply with the guide lines for labeling as "Organicly Grown"." There ya go! Uncle Sam loves me!!!!:thumb:

My planting soil is as follows;
40% FF Ocean Forest
50% my own compost (made of fall leaves, mostly oak, maple, birch with a small part of cypress leaves. I use cypress to get a tannic, or high Nitrogen mix, Grass clippings(I do not use fertilizers and stuff on my yard!) food waste, and dryed hydrilla( I get the hydrilla from the lake and dry it on the grass before putting it in the compost.
5% Vermiculite
5% Perllite

to this I add a handful of red wiggler worms in a 4-5 gallon bucket. Have to toss in some banana peel and coffee and tea grounds every couple of weeks to keep the worms happy.

My tea is as follows;
in a 5 gallon bucket I put approximately 1/4 of the bucket of my compost. a handful of worm castings and fill the rest with water. I use a bubbler from a 100 gallon fish tank with a aquarium pump and let it roll over night. When good and dark I ladle off the top half of the tea and use that.
I usually get approximately 1.5 gallons of tea which I use for 3 waterings, using the tea every other watering.

I have also added FF Big Bloom every once in a while when I see that the plants need a boost(leaves curling). My Mom in law added Liptons Tea to Mini's and Ozzies watering and had some surprising results.
