That's a low pressure-high flow configuration.....this is not a drip........I'm starting to get what you're saying. With that size of pvc it makes more of a flow than a series of fine streams?, combined with the low pressure pump?

When irrigating rockwool cubes, your irrigation should look like this picture that c526 posted. Irrigation duration should be several minutes. Previous "dirt" growers have it stuck in their brain that you add water "until you see run off". Forget that way of thinking. We don't "water" the cubes, we "irrigate" them. I do so for 15 minutes at a time, with a 185GPH pump per plant.

Seedlings: 1 x per day
6" tall - and throughout veg: 1 - 2 x per day
Flower: 2 - 3 x per day
Last 2 weeks of flower: 1 x a day

Sling irrigates more frequently, for less minutes at a time, and gets the same results. It just goes to show the cubes are forgiving and it's hard to over water.

Think of it this way: Let's say you messed up, and you got the PPM in your cubes up to 1000. And you want to bring it down to 700. So you mix up your 700PPM water, and then run it thru the cubes for 1 minute. Then you measure the PPM in your res and it's 700. I promise you, the PPM in the cubes is still 950. YOU WILL NOT equalize the PPM in the cubes doing so. Let it run 15 minutes. After 15 minutes you have a better chance at equalizing the medium to whatever your res is.

At any given time, you should be able to measure the PPM and PH of the res, and be confident it is the same within the medium. "Catching runoff" and measuring that runoff water, is a thing of the past.

It's nearly impossible to get the cubes too wet, so don't worry about that.

How much less of a pump could you get away with per plant? I ask so maybe I can get a larger low pressure pump and run all 8 plants with it. How many plants per res are you running?

I would urge you to run one res per tray, one pump per res, just like Sling is doing it. The biggest advantage is you can run different strains at different stages. Even if you're running the same strain, you can start flushing one tray, after 5 days start trimming that tray, then start flush on the other tray.

It's difficult to run that many plants with one pump, unless you have a REALLY big pump. Water takes the path of least resistance, and will flow more to the plants that are lower, or have more holes drilled, etc.

I use the $15, 185gph eco plus on one plant. For 4 plants, you should be able to get away with the $22, 396gph. If you want to do 8 plants and hoses everywhere, you're on your own on that one ;-)

Remember to keep the lowest profile you can on your trays so you are not too limited by height. PM me a link to where you this drawn up, so we can un-hijack slings thread. Sorry sling!

I just have drawings on paper, where is that sling anyway?, this is a lot his fault LOL.......once you see plants that healthy....well.......I'm workin this project on my journal.

Hey guys, fire at will, this journals going to be done in less than four weeks anyways.
Yes separate reservoirs and pumps per tray.
Im super sticky from trimming on tiny some this morning. I took a round red sled full and it hardly made a dent in one of her corners haha.
I'll be trimming this plant for a while. The pineapple skunks are on deck and thriving under the 1000 watt MH.
Ok so maybe ten more weeks haha

I'll get better pics soon, trying to get everything thats close to being done in glass by Xmas eve so I can go home. Im predicting the tweakers will be back Christmas Eve, losers

Let's see a picture of some fully trimmed colas! I also want to see a wide angle pic of the entire plant, and that stem structure again. This could be the biggest single indoor scrogged plant I've ever seen.

Dont forget some of my problems could be dangerous. Too much trimming is nice if you get to keep it. You always have to stay on point 24/7. I sleep with one eye open.

OK so I've been here trimming for days, feels like groundhog day, over and over lol.
I will take a shot tonight of Tiny and well see how much is left. Im predicting I've already trimmed what will be a half pound dried. Im not talking about stems and what not Im talking about the meds in the jars would weigh out at 8.
I seriously think Tiny will get real close to breaking 2 Elbows Dried. Wouldnt floor me if she nets a key. If not this time Tinys Revenge will.
Keep checking back, its on full blast right now, ths cabin is really turning it out and almost feel as if I am close to being dialed in. Two flipping years and now its tear down in ten weeks lol. Great experience and even more rewarding is all you great members I met and became friends with, all ya'll

For anyone here who might not know what members are talking about when you hear the term Nanners? well this is one and is the plants way of making one last ditch effort to reproduce. Since she is a female and not a true male its pollen is female and only female seeds will be created from this pollen and is how there are female seeds available. I am not able to remember all the scientific terminology but thats a stoners descrition lol.

I hope you all have enjoyed this journal half as much as I have. I get a real kick out of you all getting a kick out of what I am doing, thanks. It makes it all worthwhile, most of you know I am constantly homesick and pining for my kin but you all are some real friends and family and help me alot when the real downer times arise.
