Wow, LOVING that dark purple almost black, those are beautiful leaves and the bud really pops. That right there is why I had to grab a purple strain. Cant wait.

Its funny all the purple strains i looked up had low yield counts so i ended up not buying any when i bought seeds from bonza and i was bummed about it.. then my Hawaiian lady started turning purple on me and you couldn't slap that grin off my face. Plus she hermied on me so i can grow her again if i want, which i think i will at some point. I know what she is sensitive to now, nitrogen and heat i believe so when i grow her again i will take those factors into account and hopefully get some nice big purple colas, as long as i get that same phenotype. I vaguely remember the bud having a slight blue hue to it so i wonder what these buds will look like after trimming them, i see purple on the buds though. So exciting!

That's the whole reason I want to do a DDA grow. I think its so awesome when they start turning colors. Thats why I want to grow the secret kush so bad. That plus the fact that kush is my favorite type of bud

A question that has been on my mind lately.. how many of you guys wash your buds after harvest and is it necessary to do when growing indoors? I want to try it but idk if it matters growing indoors and im also a little afraid to ruin my buds on my first grow by dunking them in water lol
Im not sure about the difference between outdoor vs indoor washing. Im gonna do it though. I posted a video in my journal by Jorge Cervantes. 1-2 ounces of H2O2 per gallon of water. Just watch the video its easy, but you need to plan for it. I cant see a reason why it would matter indoor vs out. It does wash off quite a bit of stuff, and even though i still spray every day im gonna wash'em. I dont wannabe puffing on WPM. EWWWWW!!!

Everytime i look at your journal i think about it cause your journal pic is him washing the buds.. i will check the video out thanks man. You spray them everyday?! I never spray my ladies, rh gets too high.. i know outdoors the buds get wet but id be worried about molds growing. I am worried about all the dust and little hairs that are on my buds so i think i will try it out. It looked really interesting when i first read about it when my ladies were youngins. Seems like a smart thing to do.

I agree but from the few videos i have seen it looks like a quick dip and shake in the water and theres 3 baths. I think a guy from these forums has a few videos on youtube. I think his name is pigeon420. He says the buds actually dry faster if you wash them. Lol I dont understand it and it seems like a terrible thing to lose a whole crop due to a step I didnt follow correctly.

I washed 3-4 lbs of outdoor and ruined it. I followed Pigeons video. The first batch was a half cup b.soda, then an 1/4 cup then an 1/8 cup b.soda. Way less than pigeon says. Again, I ruined it. B.soda residue. Now I dont know what to do with it. Make water hash?? Your weed aint dirty, especially indoors. The only thing I think bud washing is good for is moldy weed your trying to save. I dident see shit for dirt in the water after the wash. Nothing that requires WASHING! Thats fucking crazy. Dont ruin your first grow by washing it Toasted. Wash one bud and see. Maybe washing if your bug infested. Again, I had baking soda residue on my weed and its bitter and crap now. I will never wash nothing again. Just my experience. The grow shop said 'WHAT?" to bud washing and I cant wait to see what they say after the utube video i recommended.

Hey toast. Just wanted to day a big thanx to spottin that iron def in big girl. Switched to 5.5 instead of 5.7 and it is almost as green as the rest after like four feeds. The next set of leaves growing are going straight too. So big thanx brotha.

Bright light is a god I agree. Some respect for those who blazed the trail. Don't remember any shit talk on here though. Just a bunch of supportive Grow lovers here.
Gotta read the original doc buds bud washing thread on 420 mag it makes sense to wash the buds if they have contaminants. We grow indoors and have yet to try it but when we have an outdoor harvest we may give it a try. But like 4dutchess said maybe try on a smaller portion of your harvest, so you don't risk ruining the whole crop, just to see what results you have and if there's anything different that can be done the next time.

Yea i remembered you talking about it ruining all that weed i was telling myself that earlier.. maybe baking soda isnt the best thing to use when you do it. Maybe ill do a bucket of peroxide and a bucket of lemon juice then a bucket of water. Dip a bud from each plant in and note the differences, if any. I am definitely with you on why would someone want to dip their buds in that.. i could see it going very wrong easily. I wont comment on the brightlight incident except i think the offender realized his mistake. You cant argue with experience. Depends on how i feel around harvest time who knows i may get lazy and say fuck it im not going through all that. Do you wash your buds brightlight? I have a feeling the answer is no lol

You are very welcome so, happy i could help bud. Glad the problem didnt worsen, it took a week or so before my ladies got over theirs but they had it for a few weeks or more i think.
I live in the desert, dry and arid most of the year. I spray with the same solution as for washing. No mold b/c of H2O2.
Great idea, i'll clip some popcorn a bit early, wash then dry, cure, sample.

Wait hold up im confused.. mold doesnt grow in that sort of environment so im wondering why are you taking so many steps to combat it? Now i feel like im neglecting an issue i could have lol
No, I don't wash my indoor buds. Never have & never will. Outdoors I'll either hose them off or let a late season rain do it for me. This washing stuff is BIG on this forum, far less so on other forums.

Great thanks brightlight got it.. probably cause doc bud posted about it and everyone thought they need to do it lol not saying it cant help, just saying i dont think it would do much for your indoor buds. Ill pick the little hairs off they will be good to go. Thank you for all your wisdom and help my good sir, it is more then appreciated.

Back when I grew before, it was in a home-built room in a basement with a dirt floor, and the nastiest air conditions you can imagine. The outside of the door to the new room would get mold on it pretty quick. Metal just disintegrated from rusting out. I pulled air from the room above, but still had to fight the ambient moisture and nastienss of the basement every time I opened the door.
The only strain I had a problem with was this dense strain, sharksbreath, I got bud rot once with it. It had the densest buds I ever grew, and really thick.
Good air circulation will help alot. You have a much nicer environment, your setup should do you good.
I had never heard of it until I read that thread mentioned here, doc bud's,, then there are a bunch of people talking about do this or that, I dont think the original had baking soda at all.. but I don't see the reason, except maybe if you got a ton of gnats, and then, men, I've inhaled more than one live, what's a bit of burnt bug? but, I was thinking of trying it though, lmao, but only one or two branches, and after a cure, compare to see. But, something about dipping good bud in water,,,
Not sure if this comment is for me, but the hydrogen-peroxide will kill any mold spores and or mold. Thats why its ok to use as a spray too. Thats why its used as a wash and from what i saw in the video it was specifically for WPM, although ive heard others use as a general cleaner as well. The desert is dry and arid and i still got WPM.
