300W LED 2x4x5 Tent Soil Grow

Im always looking for ways to deal with runoff. I'll be interested to see what you come up with. I think I'm going to put some loose gravel in the bottom of my plant drain trays.

Hmm thanks guys! Well im broke right now so i have to use on hand items.. the bricks and stuff i have outside arent going to work out. There are these long plastic things in the basement i could maybe use.. im waiting to set it all up though. i dont like messing with the ladies during the middle of lights on when they absorb most of their light.

This is what im going to end up using.. i think its a plastic window shutter lol gonna put the plants in the middle of it where the ridges are and hopefully the water will go in between the ridges and down the sides. Seems like it could end up working really well actually lol

To raise shorter plants up foam block squares work well. Can use as many as needed on ea. plant to maintain an even canopy. Why not use inexpensive clear plastic saucers under ea. pot to catch runoff? Best to remove runoff as needed on ea. plant. They don't like wet feet plus sitting in water can wick salts back up into soil, esp. since you use synthetics. A turkey baster is handy to suck out runoff from saucers.

Excess N in flower isn't the best approach. Some Kushes & Cookies like to stay green all the way, but if you want fade & fall colors N must be dwindling by wk. 5-6. Too much N will impact taste & can cause hay smell after harvest.

Be cautious using that high NPK numbered stuff like Cha Ching & Beastie. Not really needed actually. Used more in commercial grows for speed & bulk but that kind of weed ain't medicine believe me. :Namaste:

I used synthetics in past...mostly Botanicare Pro Bloom Pro line. Synthetics disguised as organics. Not criticizing synthetics use but just not for me. I know commercial growers using synthetics who grow organically for their own head stash. Most of the breeders I follow on IG are generally organic growers. Many growers gravitate towards at least partial organics before switching over completely. Don't hear of organic growers changing to synthetics. Just food for thought brother. You are doing very well in your grow. :Namaste:

Haha nice.. im thinking about it right now. I was thinking of putting them on bricks. Anyone have any suggestions as to what i could put the plants on? Needs to be smaller then a 2x3 area and only an inch or so tall.

I settled on using a cake pan that was only a cpl $ from Walmart. It's about 10" diameter almost exactly same as a 3 gal smart pot. It's about an inch n half deep and I drilled holes in it for drainage set in the drop saucer upside down.

I thought I had subbed on this journal but I was mistaken and now I have a lot of reading to do it looks like. Oh well. It's a subject I enjoy. Hey imtoasted. How's it going?

Its going well! With a bit of measuring and cutting the shutters, i got them switched out with those bottle holders. Gave myself an extra 4" or so, now there's 12" between the tallest/fatest bud site and the light! Yay glad i got that figured out what a relief...

But it got hotter then expected today and i left my windows open. So when i was switching the drainage trays it got to be 79 degrees and 64 rh in the tent. Hope that wont hurt anything now that they are in flower!

Thanks for all the help guys i really appreciate it! Do buds taste better and have more quality when grown organically? I guess i have more research to do, as i always will im sure. Have a good one guys thanks again!

Man those are gonna get super fat. Yours look awesome are you using a calmag supplement? Im trying to figure out if im having a mag def or it its light bleaching. I think we are using the same lights but yours look super happier. Keep up the awesome job.

Thanks man we will see, im super excited to watch them develop over the next several weeks! Yea i am using calmag, before i got my light i read led lights cause the plants to need more calcium and magnesium. Cant remember why now but ive heard lots of other people say that too. So i made sure to get it and i only give 1.5 ml per gal when i feed them, i used to give them more but i tapered it down slowly now that im in flower and calmag is 2-0-0. I think im getting the right balance now, my plants dont have 'the claw' as much now!

Ok so heres a question for everyone.. two of my plants are the same strain and the bigger plant is its own strain. From what ive researched the node spacing on my big plant is wayy to far apart and my 'colas' are only going to stack at the tops. But the other two strains have tighter node spacing as you can see in the pic and hopefully will stack better and ill have bigger colas on them even though they are definitely smaller plants.

Am i correct in my thinking? Im also wondering if im going to yield more then i thought with my smaller plants if the colas stack better then my bigger one. We will find out that's for sure! Also first pic is a small branch i accidentally broke and taped back together to see what would happen.. its doing great as you can see lol its crazy as all hell that you can do that! Thanks guys have a good one!

You sound correct about the stacking on your girls.. Chances are those leggier girls won't have that big solid cola your wanting. Some plants just grow like that.. some you just have to rule over with a iron fist or they max smaller tents out. Hell I've had afew that max my 8' ceilings out. It all comes down to knowing your plant and looking for that one pheno you like,, or a well stabilized seed. Some strains are all over the place within the same seed batch. But,, They sure look happy.. Keepem Green
