dam fog..bagseed plant..sex/strain unknown...plant is growing..height=4 in...ppm=225..ph=6.0...temp hard to control..atm 65...got browning on the leaves...using advance nutes..anybody growing in fog ???..probably not..i think i'm the only pioneer in the forum..i don't K>I>S>S> all the time...

one thing about growing multiple plants..you see one thats not performing as expected...and then you see this..a purple haze reveg..my twin towers...got 2..one is growing straight up...this one has been super-cropped..will go in a 5 gal pot today..I...as always..remain ..focused...

very nice miwa, some reps coming your way my friend,

you know these tall plants, well couldnt you use something like one of those clothing rails they use at markets, place this over the plant so you got a poll running horizontal, adjust height to where you want the top of the plant to be, then would it not be possible to keep training the top stem to run along the pole, either wrap it round the poll every few days or lt it run along the pole using string to tie the stem to,

or even have it a few inches lower than the top of the plant then run the top branch along the pole, then all the growth at the nodes would grow upwards giving you many top buds it would keep height down without having to stress the plant to much,

fantastic...you just described JTGs training method...i named it JTGT =JamesTheGreenTraing...you forgot i was growing one on a pole last summer...i need you to send me ..well i just wish i had some..:rofl::rofl::cheesygrinsmiley:

oh now i remember, not sure if i was around to see the end results though, been that long i cant remember, has jtg used that method himself or was it something he came up with for you to try, i knew it was in my memory from somewhere, just couldnt remember who had tried it before, i knew it was someone.

how did it turn out last time, was it a method that worked, you mean you need a poll sending, we got plenty of polls over here, since becoming part of the eu we got many polish workers here, good workers, do any job and dont mind hard work for minimum pay, its why so many people are out of work here, factories prefer cheap reliable labor, why pay £15 an hour when someone will work for £6.50 an hour,
cheap reliable labor,

or did you mean a clothes rail, lol if you did then would be cheaper to make one, postage would be a lot from here, dont you have any bits of wood you could stick in the ground and run a bit of wood between the 2, what did you try before, did you grow the plant round the pole or just tie it along the top of the pole, i think tying it along the top of the pole would be the best idea.
i guess even a washing line would do, thats an idea, what about growing a plant inside one of those rotary washing lines, they have about 8 pole's running from the center, you could train a plant to grow along each of the pole's and have a sort of scrog type plant using a rotary washing line,

if i had the weather id try it, you could make the plant grow up the center pole then when it reaches the top train the branches and main stem to grow along one of the poles running from the center of the rotary washing line, i wonder if anyone has tried that, might be an interesting idea,

JTG did that ..vertical on a bamboo pole..mine was growing horizontal on a pvc pipe..growing in the ground..it died on mei i think it was in the wrong part of the garden..,.i can't grow this one like that..got 2 more plants in the ground..i see you got ideals..perfect that training method and name it DPT = DonPaulTraining...naw..i meant..send me some of what you had...to give me amnisia...some things i would like to forget...

a foreseen problem..heat...ok now but i know whats going to happen when roots hits warm water...and they are now coming out of netpot..so this is the plan..i need a separate container to hold the fogger and nute solution..one with a top that seals..holes for air lines..with lines running in from a air pump..running out to the container holding the plant...or something in the container to stop roots from reaching the water...got time to think about it...meanwhile i'll pop some more beans..try a drain to waste setup..summer fun..off topic..my melons are being trained to grow on a raised net bed...they have climbed on the bed and traveled 1.5 feet...stay focus

stay execute..I mean focus:)

ok...now i'm pissed off.. to the max...dam bugs..reveged mites and now something is eating on my girls..well they picked the wrong one..it rained all night..all plants but the fogponics got a good soaking..so all the pesticide should be washed off..just left amazon..along with some red wrigglers i got lady bugs coming...i told them to send me some that haven't ate...SOBs..i told you...don't mess with the ladies..:goof::goof:

id love to go hydro, but im just a basic grower, i plant the seed and add water, thats all i know, honest, at least thats what ill say if it comes to it, could hardly say that if i got ppm meters and a big hydro set up,
so soil it is, plus the odd dwc 2ltr hempie, my dwc at the minute is about 7 inch high and the roots are nearly 3ft long, this 17-7 schedule is making the roots and plants grow like crazy, the dwc is at double strength bpn, i could never go this high before, my soil plants cant go that high, i got the same sensi start growing in soil and its hald the size and cant take full strength nutes yet but my dwc just keeps wanting more, but now im at just under double strength bpn the leaves are huge and a nice shade of green, ive never had a dwc grow like this before, but then i grew them all under 20-4 and 24-0, so it just shows that these plants really do benefit from the dark period,

i was close to getting rid of the dual spec hps and buying a mh bulb for veg, but now im using 17-7 the growth is crazy, now im keeping the bulb, it just shows that changing something as simple as light schedule can have a big impact on the grow, yes i know these plants are c3 and can grow under 24-0 but i was not getting the growth im getting now, im growing the same strains ive grown before and ive never had leaves this big on the same strains grown under 24-0 or 20-4, they are drinking more water but this is because they got more roots, more roots means more nutes = healthier and bigger plant,

some will argue this is not the case and 24-0 is the best schedule, but ill argue all day long that its not, anything below 18-6 is ideal, id use glr but i got autos growing, even autos benefit from dark, i was getting 1/4 off kc45s under 20-4 and 24-0, under 12-12 i got 2oz and a 3ft plant with 1ft buds, under 20-4 i was very lucky to get 2inch buds and 1/4 oz for all the hard work, wasnt worth the nutes it used to grow, so now im growing autos under 17-7 to see what yield i get then ill grow some more under 12-12 just to make sure they benefit from the dark period,

@miwa, id be more than happy to send you some of my strains, just need to grow them before you can sample the goods though, the last plant i harvested in my journal before the auto is my own strain, the seeds are stable, i get the same results with every seed i grow, if the weather was decent all the time like it is now then id go and sprinkle a couple of hundred seeds where i walk my dog and see how they go, but we got sun for about a week then it rains the rest of the time, so outdoors they dont do so good, but id love to grow some of my seeds outdoors, im pretty sure they would give some amazing results,

id live in a tent if i could find somewhere with decent weather where i can grow, but till that happens its strictly indoors for me.

not good with the buds mate,
make sure you let lady bugs out at night, for some reason their called lady birds in my country, i read somewhere that letting them drink sugar water stops them from flying off, so as long as they got water and food they will stick around, but letting them loose in the daytime means they just fly off, so night time it is and spray the plants so that got a drink to go with their dinner,
mites and an unknown, could it be a catterpillar or something like that, i have found an odd leaf with a chunk missing out of it but ive dont everything to find what it is and cant find anything, it dont happen often but once a month ill come across a leaf with a little nibble missing, something is snacking on my plants but not often, so not sure what it is,

them ladybugs will do the job, them mites are pretty tasty to ladybugs,

dam...maybe i should bring my fogponics inside and put it on a light schedual..a double dose,,you may have a lb growing..maybe you'll go all hydro..17/7...i got some bagseed in a glass of water..they got tails..soon as they pop i'll check that 17/7 out...we'll put that 24/0 to rest...we'll have a 17/7 grow documented..got a grow rm set up..you started it on cfls..right...ok..going to do a hydro and one in a pot...got a seed in a pot now...summer=time fun...

yeah..i think i got catterpillars..had them last year..i think you mean spray the LBs with sugar water..it makes their wings stick together so they can't fly..i need to learn how to raise LBs..they don't cost much but it seems i use them every year..

oh yes, maybe thats why you use sugar water, i though they drank it and it made them to lazy to fly, lol,

just treat em nice and give them water and they should stay unti the bugs are gone, my moms got a load of rose bushes and she had lots of green fly so she bought lots of lady birds and put them out as it went dark and if it was dry she would spray the roses with water so they had something to drink, the lady birds stayed for weeks until all the food was gone, once the foods gone they dissapear,

problem is you either have to buy lady bugs or go hunting for them, my sister when she was little used to catch them and keep them in a tub and feed them green fly, they didnt live long but she was about 5 or 6, now my daughter does the same, collects little insects and thinks she can put a leaf in a tub and keep it alive, keeps her busy so i had to teach her to let them go as she wanted them as pets, now she collects them and looks at them through a little thing i bought her that you put insects in, a sort of insect house with magnifying glass on the sides so she can look closer at them, so she looks at them for a bit then finds a nice new home for them in some bush,
ill send her lady bug collecting if i get mites, so far its just fungus gnats for me, but got them under control not seen a flying one in a couple of weeks but when i turn the soil in the top of the pots i see the odd white grub running around, so they will not last long when they grow wings, i got double sided tape stuck all over some really bright yellow card and iluminus yellow and orange card from craft shop, the gnats seem to love the really bright yellow card, found that out from using the front cover from the phone book and sticking double sided tape all over it, cheaper than buying the sticky fly paper and works better, not sure why but the sticky fly paper we get over here is dark brown, so i thought a yellow would be a better option so made my own, works much better and caught every flying one so far,
