2L Hempy Coco Coir

Update: 2L DWC Hempy

Previously on 2L DWC Hempy test run I turned the 2L into a small DWC and Hempy for the plants.

Now, lets check out the results.

These are new clones that was placed into the bottle a week ago. The roots are coming through the holes and reaching towards the reservoir.

The Berry Bomb (budding plant in the center) is the 1st prototype, and is in the green bottle this one is the oldest. Seem to be working as planned. It is never hungry (dark green leafs) and is growing strong. The rest behind are new clones and is 1 week old.

Adding 8 more clones today in 2L DWC-H. :Namaste:

Harvesting soon

It is almost time to harvest 20 plants in few days. These are under the 1000w HPS.

Harvested some Firestorm #4 (green pheno) with some Pineapple Express (seeded) few days ago. I love the 1000w the buds are so dense. The smell is crazy good. These are semi-dry and is ready for the paper bag, and will be in there for 2 days then jar it.

I love the 4x4 tray can fit many without the use of the bottle crates. The bottle are touching one another allowing more of SOG effect. Defoliation is required when the plants are placed this close. From what I can see Firestorm #4 yield the most, then C99, then the rest.

These are quick shots while I was working. Will have better pics up soon. :Namaste:

Hey 12! Always innovating! I was confused at first about your concern for copyright infringement with the bottle labels. I get the stick-it-to-the-man attitude, but the pixelation is making it a bit difficult to see some of the details. Can you throw in a shot from a painted or label-stripped bottle to show how they fit together? I get the illustration, but don't see why the top half doesn't just slide all the way to the bottom, since the walls are the same diameter? How does your cap end up suspended in mid-air like that, and not touching the floor of the res?
To all those wondering about the "stagnant" water, are you all forgetting that hempy's are defined by the reservoir space in the pot? That is the main difference between these and regular pots, which allow all extra fluid to run off from the bottom. Sea Of Green is just an application of this potting method. T12 just took hempys a bit further by changing the ratio of media:water, and took the hydroton out of the res. The best innovations always seem so simple in hindsight.

Sure I'll have a sample clear bottle for demonstration purposes. Like the transparent cloning machine they have for display. However, I will continue to pixelate the labels, I'm fond of blurring unwanted advertisement/branding out from my reality. I don't want others to have the impression that I drink these (I don't) and that I endorse the brand, which I don't. Only focusing on the bottles. It is part of my style now guess the only one with intentional pixelation allowed in the image. Hehe

I get the illustration, but don't see why the top half doesn't just slide all the way to the bottom, since the walls are the same diameter?

It seem to hold the bottle up since the walls are the same diameter it does not fall in, the top has to be smaller for that to happen. If the top is cut too short it will fall through since it is close to the curve narrow path before reaching the cap. Make 5-6in cutting from the cap and the top should hold itself up from the reservor.

How does your cap end up suspended in mid-air like that, and not touching the floor of the res?

Took it out for some photos. I try not to lift the top out too often it can dry out the smaller roots which trying to reach the res.

Thanks will see how these flower out.

Stealth Air Handling

In my opinion your stealth idea wont work if you expect both to remain in operation. They will not co exist peacefully together. If you can isolate a section of ducting with damper, either manual or backdraft type you may stand a chance. Best recommendation is to isolate the exhaust. Any bathroom vents near by? Hook up to the ceiling grill and use duct to get close then block off and use a flex run to the exhaust port. Not sure that made any sense nor even if its applicable to your situation. You give me and accurate layout and goal I can more than likely provide a plan of attack.

You do so well growing, don't short change yourself in this area. Consider it a foundation stone. It needs to be solid, consistent, and dependable.

Hey 12! Always innovating! . . .

<snip>

The outer diameter of the top is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the inside of the bottle. Yes, it's only 1/64", but it is. Thus when the top is inverted and inserted into the bottom, it fits snugly and tends not to slip. Sort of like if you cut a straw in half (or two straws to make a really long straw) and try to insert one into the other it will not fit, but if you fold one to a point and push it in, it gets stuck.

SmokzAlot I could go back using the previous method, exhaust through a window with fake unit (hollow inside) a/c attached to the window. Can't make holes in that room. For the next room I vent through the ceilling grill and took out the tube that was connected to the main centrail a/c, so that works great. Can't do that with this room and now trying exhausting without cutting the main tube so see how it works. Trying to visualize how I can vent without cutting or making holes. Don't see any other way. I'm going to have to make holes sometime next week or go back to the fake a/c unit sitting outside of the window.

More photos coming up soon! Haha

Big Beans if you grow one plant at a time it may seem unusual, if you grow 100+ at once it's common. The plant always uptake water and depend how you cut it will bleed. There is pressure that draws up the stem like a straw and a cut will disturb the flow and we see it coming out. Not sure if it is the same bleeding but that's just from my exp. If it is blood red then I have no clue, lol.

The buds are dried and now in the curing stage.

The Firestorm #4 and Pineapple Express was under 1000w, and the C99 was under 600w. The nugs from 1K watter are much denser. Just amazing.

Dry weight:

 2x Pineapple Express: 14g (7g per plant)
 2x Firestorm #4 (Green Pheno): 40g (20g per plant)
 1x C99: 14g per plant

Firestorm #4 yield the most, with most mass and dense, flavor and smell is more subtle, hits fast and hard.

Pineapple Express smells great, some taste, hit fast and hard. Dense buds.

C99 smell and taste great. Hit fast and hard. Airy buds due to being under the 600w, but the ones under 1000w are very dense can't wait!
