Hash tip: Put something on the two aluminum pieces you compress you kief with in your pollen press so the hash puck don't stick to each piece like clad metal.

look into extension tubes instead of a macro lens. I put extension tubes on my 70-300 lens and take those shots hand held with a flash. The cool thing is you turn off manual focus and can use zoom to focus quickly and fine tune focus moving the camera. This allows a macro shot at a good distance so you don't have to be right up on it. Macro lenses are nice but very restrictive.

My images clarity could be improved with lower f stop (using 22) a tripod and a stationary subject.

Thanks for the tip Buckshot. My hand held close-ups look like I tried to pic a moving bullet without using a fast shutter speed. Macro lenses are pricey too, so a cheaper alternative would be nice.
